A beautiful panoramic viewpoint of Biei
#VisitHokkaido
Shin-ei-no-Oka Observatory Park is one of the sightseeing spots along the Panorama Road in Biei. The view from here is vast and expansive. We went during the summer and saw colorful rice fields on high and low hills with the Tokachi Mountains in the distance as a backdrop. On the observation deck, there were dolls made from barley rolls set up as decorations, which were very cute. There were also flowers planted to make it look refreshing. I heard that this is one of the most beautiful sunset spots in Japan, but we went in the morning and it was already beautiful. We enjoyed taking pictures. No matter where we pointed our camera, we were bound to get a picture.
🚗 How to get there
The location of this place is between Biei and Bibaushi train stations, about 3-4 kilometers from the stations. If you want to walk, it is quite far. Therefore, cars or bicycles are the best options. There is a convenient parking lot on the side of the road. From the parking lot, there is a walkway to a small souvenir shop and food/drinks. After enjoying the view, you can use the service.
