Shibazakura Park was another visual treat, with its fields blanketed in vibrant pink moss phlox. The sight was nothing short of magical, as if walking through a living painting. I went to the Shiko Toya hot spring district where steam is coming out, enjoying the snow and snowy scenery around Lake Toya on a course that is easy to travel by rental car. I went to Noboribetsu Jigokudani in Shikotsu-Toya National Park. It is a famous tourist spot in Noboribetsu, and is said to be the remains of an explosion crater created by volcanic activity on Mt. Hiyori. The area around Jigokudani has a strong sulfur smell, and the scenery is impressive and spectacular. You can walk through Jigokudani, but it has a large difference in elevation, so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
