This hotel in Shanghai is amazing!
▶Hotel Establishment: Opened in 2007
🕐Accommodation Time: February 3, 2025
💰Price: 15,000 points, room type upgraded from standard room to deluxe suite🎉.
📍The hotel is located in Pudong, surrounded by many shopping malls, and the Four Points by Sheraton is just a few steps away. The overall style of this hotel is very much in line with Sheraton's "old money" style, similar to the Sheraton Shanghai Waigaoqiao Hotel, and it is very generous with suites 🏨. The hotel is divided into two buildings, namely the hotel and the apartment. The staff will help with luggage 🧳 at the entrance and deliver it to the room, which is rare nowadays👏.
1⃣ Transportation
🚇Tangqiao subway station on Line 4 is only 320m away, within walking distance, and the transportation is very convenient 👣.
2⃣ Room
Through a heartfelt phone conversation, I successfully upgraded to suite 3156 on the 31st floor 🏠. The detached building is conical, divided into room types with views of the Lujiazui skyline and the city. The suite is really big, and the most special thing is the bathtub 🛁. The bathroom area is estimated to be almost the size of the room + living room. However, the TV is relatively small 📺 and the picture quality is not very clear. Late check-out until 4pm, but the cleaning lady came to urge me to check out at 3pm, and finally waited at the door, which was a bit embarrassing 😅.
The bathroom amenities are also terrible. I don’t know what brand the toiletries are 🧴, and the toothbrush bristles fall out in my mouth. The bottled water is directly Ice Dew, which shows the owner's "thriftiness" 💧.
3⃣ Gym & Pool
🏃The gym and swimming pool are on the 3rd floor. It takes about 5–6 minutes to walk from the elevator. The gym only has a few treadmills and scattered strength equipment. It seems to have been transformed from a banquet hall, and the atmosphere is a bit strange 😳. The swimming pool is standard and clean 🏊.
4⃣ Surroundings & Attractions
There are Printemps and several shopping malls near the hotel, which is very convenient for living and very lively 🛍️.
5⃣ Lounge & Breakfast
The lounge is located on the 37th floor. The food is ordinary but filling. The desserts are generous, but it always feels like they are made with vegetable cream 🍰. There are many uncles and aunts in the lounge watching TV aloud, and the stools are also broken, and the atmosphere is a bit noisy 📺. However, the highlight of the lounge is the unique city skyline 🌆. You can see the Lujiazui skyline lighting up around 6pm, which is a plus ✨.
Breakfast is on the 2nd floor. It is really ordinary and unremarkable. There are not many people, but the quality of the food provided is worrying, such as small kumquats and tasteless ginseng fruit 🍊.
➡ Summary
The overall style of this Sheraton Grand Shanghai Hongkou Hotel is still "old money", but the details seem a bit weak. Although it is always generous with suites, from the architectural style to the service details, it gives people a feeling of "it used to be glorious, but now it is struggling" 💼. If you have never stayed in a suite, you can come and experience it, but don't have too high expectations 😅.
