Good stay of Beijing
#beijingtrip
The hotel at DongCheng district, not the excellent location. But has very good business experience.
At club lounge not every staff could speak english, that not very well for the person who would not speak English.
But room here is comfortable and clean, would not have very good view but looks nice. And I am really like the bathtub in the room. very good designed.

I declare this is the best value for money hotel in Beijing.
Location📍: The hotel is located near cultural attractions such as the Imperial College and Yonghe Palace, which is convenient for travel.
Environment and facilities🏙️: The gym and swimming pool are on the 7th floor, and the executive lounge is on the 25th floor. The swimming pool in Beijing at 0 degrees in winter is still crowded, and I left after swimming two laps.
Room facilities🚪: Stay on the top floor on the 25th floor, enjoy dinner and breakfast during happy hour, on the same floor, effectively solve the problem of eating downstairs. The room is equipped with a round bathtub, which can just see the TV. Sitting on the sofa watching a movie🎬 on Saturday night, I feel very comfortable🤓.
Food🍔: Breakfast is quite complete, the scenery is good, you can fill your stomach and start a new day's journey. The lounge actually has no watermelon juice, and I only drank it when I went to the restaurant on the 2nd floor!

Cost performance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
🛏️Opened in 2011, but it should have been renovated around 20 years, and the hardware facilities are still relatively new. The ratio of front desk waiters is not bad, and check-in and check-out do not need to wait. There is an art exhibition in the hotel lobby, which is quite interesting. The executive lounge is on the top floor, and the decoration and layout inside are quite stylish, which is a relatively high-end executive lounge. I feel that this one reveals the artistic atmosphere in many details. The gym is open 24 hours, the indoor swimming pool is 25 meters, and both look good
🍽️Breakfast can be chosen on the second floor or in the executive lounge. The second floor is more abundant. It happened to be the Thai Food Festival. I saw a chef from Thailand, but I didn’t taste it.
📍Located in the North Third Ring Road, not far from the Olympic Sports Center, it will not be blocked to the airport
⚠️ 1) The room air conditioner blows against the bed, the noise is a bit loud, and the wind is a bit too strong

Beijing Jin Yu Sheraton Hotel
Jin Yu Sheraton is one of the older five-star hotels in this area. The surrounding environment and facilities indeed show some signs of age, but thanks to its location, it remains a top choice for business trips to Beijing. The artistic touch in the lobby is a clever idea from the hotel management, bringing an art exhibition inside and breaking the stereotype of the gloomy, old office building area before entering the lobby. Especially with the selection of Impressionist-style oil paintings themed around flowers, the vibrant colors indeed help alleviate travel fatigue.
The rooms follow a classic hotel style. The black and white checkered tiles in the bathroom give off an inexplicable old-money vibe. Personally, I think the excellent aspect is that although the room is small, the toilet, shower, dressing area, and sink are all separated by small partitions, making it very neat and clean. The comfort level of Sheraton's bathrobes is top-notch within the Marriott group, making me want to take a shower and change into them as soon as I enter the room. However, the bedding is quite average; the mattress is on the hard side, and the pillows have a slight odor.

Two days in Beijing, visiting exhibitions in Dongcheng, national treasures and palace colors
I haven't been to Beijing for a year. The significance of this place is to see old friends. The advantage of staying in Dongcheng is that it's close to everywhere. People like to meet near the China World Trade Center, where there seems to be a lot of good food.
Helena took me to the Guardian Art Center: 'National Treasures and Palace Colors - Exhibition of Qing Dynasty Court Weaving and Embroidery Colors.' This exhibition opens to the public on June 21, 2024, and is expected to run until September 22. Nearly a hundred rare Qing Dynasty court weaving and embroidery garments from the Palace Museum, along with three treasures from the Shenyang Palace Museum, are on display. Nearly 90% of these exhibits are being shown to the public for the first time. The exhibition aims to showcase the era's advanced techniques in weaving, dyeing, embroidery, kesi, and painting, and to reflect the color stories behind the high walls through the changes in garment colors.
Seeing the Prajnaparamita Heart Sutra handwritten by Emperor Qianlong, I had a momentary feeling of traveling through time.
In the auction area, I also saw a signed photo of Audrey Hepburn and another photo signed by Givenchy with Hepburn. The emotions expressed in these photos are so restrained. I was thinking about packing these up as a gift for my 'white moonlight,' but alas, I don't have one. Hahaha.
Staying at Jinyu was particularly enjoyable. The large glass windows in the executive lounge, catching a sunny day in Beijing, were comfortable. The afternoon tea thoughtfully arranged by the hotel also had the vibe of this Guardian exhibition. It's rare to see a hotel so thoughtfully combined with art. I thought about slowly looking at the old objects of the Forbidden City. Traveling is a process of reshaping. When I first read 'I and the Temple of Earth' in my teens, I focused on Shi Tiesheng. In my twenties, I came to Beijing, and the method was in the grandeur given by the Temple of Earth. When you are thirty, having been to some places, you can feel thoughts related to your state of mind. This place is very close to the Yonghe Temple. My friends also recommended me to visit here. My two happy days lying flat in Beijing were still missing the Wudaoying Hutong that I longed for. I hope to make up for this place I long for on my next trip. By the way, there's a good thing about this place: it's very close to the airport, only about 25 minutes away.

Everyone is an Angel (Part One)
I went to the Sheraton Beijing Dongcheng Hotel to meet a friend and happened to come across a small exhibition in the hotel lobby—the Zhou Yiwen Contemporary Art Exhibition.
Let's first look at Zhou Yiwen's works with the theme of freedom, particularly the black and white pieces. The exhibition spreads art, soothes the soul, and enlightens the mind. The works appear in the form of paintings, sculptures, and design models. Browsing through them, one can indeed feel thoughts and actions coming together. Promoting peace and freedom, the main piece is a white dove 🕊️ symbolizing peace, coming out of a cage, which is also its resting place. The doves are all specimens, with vivid and pure white feathers, truly the angels of peace. Everyone has an angelic side.
I like doves also because they have been tamed since ancient times to serve as carrier pigeons, capable of delivering letters ✉️. Having worked at the postal service, isn't the postal letter service about delivering letters across the country and the world? Additionally, letters ✉️ used to be the main tool for households to communicate. When I was young and studying away from home, letters were my emotional support for missing home and my parents. Every day, when the class monitor brought the mail to the class, how many eyes were filled with anticipation...
The works use black and white tones to create a visual impact. Peace is such a simple and beautiful thing. Advocating for peace and promoting peace, how wonderful it would be if everyone could live in harmony!
War, which is the opposite of peace, is darkness. Staring at this piece, the contrast between black and white shakes everyone's soul.
The hotel makes good use of the lobby space to hold an exhibition, fully utilizing the venue and bringing an artistic atmosphere to the guests coming and going. It also enhances and showcases the hotel's style and quality. This idea is really great!

Art Exhibition and Afternoon Tea: Dunhuang as Painted
Dunhuang Academy & Beijing Jinyu Sheraton Hotel
Dunhuang as Painted Art Exhibition Themed Afternoon Tea
The afternoon tea presents the scenery of the Dunhuang desert at sunset with desserts and savoury snacks, which is very exquisite. After the tea, there is an exhibition of 29 works from the Dunhuang Academy since its establishment in 1993. A feast for both the mouth and the eyes.
🎨 The recent art exhibition 'Dunhuang As It Is Painted' that is most worth pondering over, not only can you see the classic collection of mud and paper copies of murals from the Dunhuang Academy, but also contemporary interpretations of Dunhuang prints, original Dunhuang children's paintings by teenagers, and dozens of other artworks, presenting a unique 'Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow of Dunhuang'.
🖼 In the mural copy works, classic flying apsaras, auspicious beasts, and algae well patterns are presented one by one. The copy of the 'Deer King Jataka' on the west wall of Mogao Cave 257 is also included, telling the well-known story of the 'Nine-Colored Deer'. The mud copy of the 'Mourning Bodhisattva' not only restores the compassionate expression of the Bodhisattva with drooping eyebrows and eyes, but also presents the cracks and damaged texture on the surface very well.
🕯️ Highly recommend the 'Simulated Cave Space', with two murals and a niche inside. Holding an electronic candle and walking, it's like going back to a thousand years ago, the murals under the flickering light show more mysterious beauty, full marks for the experience!
🐫 After the exhibition, go and check in the co-branded Dunhuang afternoon tea of 'The Forbidden City to the East × Dunhuang Academy', which is the complete experience. The two-foot tea tray's miniature desert, reproduces the micro landscape of flying apsaras dancing, camel teams under the sunset on the yellow sand slope. Accompanying the afternoon is a book 'Dunhuang As It Is Painted', flip through the book while drinking tea, savoring the infinite charm of Dunhuang art.

Let me make the Spring Festival clear|Leisure Edition
After dinner, go to the open art space of the first floor FUN community to see the 'Dunhuang As It Is' art exhibition. The world cultural heritage-Dunhuang murals are famous for their large scale, exquisite craftsmanship, rich content, and wide range of themes. The 'Dunhuang As It Is' art exhibition here is like a miniature of Dunhuang murals, bringing the mysterious Mogao Caves into the hotel, which is breathtaking.
The exhibition is divided into 'Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow' three sub-themes. The highlight is an immersive dark independent space with two murals and a niche, simulating the scene of ancient people watching paintings in the dark. During the 'Candle Watching Murals' session, thoughts are instantly brought into the ancient and mysterious Mogao Caves. Holding an electronic candle and walking, it seems to go back to a thousand years ago, immersive.
The art exhibition has collected the classic collections of the Dunhuang Academy since its establishment in 1993, including clay and paper copies of murals, including the special caves of Mogao Caves and Yulin Caves and murals of caves not open to the public, showing various copying methods and mural temperament, presenting 1600 years of Dunhuang mural art in front of contemporary people. The prototype of the well-known 'Nine-Colored Deer' story, the copy of the 'Deer King's Life' on the west wall of Mogao Cave 257 is also included.
The 'Today' part of the exhibition title shows the ancient and modern style on the Silk Road to the classic images in Dunhuang murals, paying tribute to the brilliance of a thousand years with contemporary visual language. Dunhuang today, as a popular tourist cultural city and the dazzling pearl of the Belt and Road, is once again focused on by the world. Here shows the incredible Dunhuang IP created series of Dunhuang images.
The 'Tomorrow' part of the exhibition title is Dunhuang in the eyes of children and under their pens. In this exhibition area, dozens of excellent children's painting artworks are displayed through electronic painting screens, allowing people to see different perspectives and infinite possibilities of Dunhuang culture.
The hotel and the Dunhuang Academy launched a joint afternoon tea at the same time, a two-foot tea tray, the combination of sweet and salty products, the micro landscape cleverly presents the sunset camel team in the flying sand, linking art and food, showing the creativity of contemporary Chinese and Western fusion, allowing more people to have the opportunity to experience and feel the charm of Dunhuang art.
Friends who do not plan to travel far during the Spring Festival can bring their children and accompany their parents to come here, watch the exhibition, taste tea, eat, spend a day full of cultural heritage, and also have a different holiday feeling. The exhibition will last until February 29, 2024~
