Shenzhen Museum Ancient Art Gallery.
【Visit】: Museum of Ancient Art
Take the subway to the Museum of Ancient Art, and enter through the South Gate or West Gate.
Kind tips:
1. Unlike the History and Folklore Museum, stamp collection is uniformly located at the front desk (one in each exhibition hall).
2. Visiting order: Take the elevator to the top floor and visit in a clockwise direction from top to bottom!
I would like to express my feelings here. Although the way of visiting from top to bottom is very strange (I have only seen this one so far), the experience of visiting is very good and it is done in one go. In addition to the elevators, there are also ramps (barrier-free access) at the corners of each floor. I encountered one that was suitable for wheelchair users. It is very user-friendly!
It would be better if the staff could properly guide the tourists in the order of visiting at the entrance.
There are two special exhibitions on the 4-3 floor:
1. Classics glorify China: an exhibition of four major discoveries of ancient Chinese documents in the early 20th century.
2. The Way of Inheritance - Rare Ancient Books in the Collection Department of Shenzhen Museum
There are free tour guides at 14:30 and 15:30 respectively. It is recommended to listen while visiting.
Classic books glorify China
Jointly organized by the National Library of China, the First Historical Archives of China, the Gansu Museum of Bamboo Slips, the Dunhuang Academy, and the Shenzhen Museum, the exhibition will last until March 10, 2024.
This exhibition is the largest exhibition to date of cultural relics related to the "Four Great Disciplines" (oracle bone studies, Dunhuang studies, bamboo slips studies, and Qing Imperial Cabinet Archives). You can learn about the various carriers of the development of Chinese classics in one stop, and start a journey to trace the origins of Chinese culture.
In addition to oracle bone inscriptions, bamboo slips, and Tibetan or Sogdian scriptures in the Dunhuang Grottoes, you can also see Kangxi's will, Daoguang's succession, Cixi's drafting of the imperial edict, Qianlong's examination papers for the arts, and copperplate engravings of the 20 views of the Western-style buildings in the Old Summer Palace...
"The Way of Inheritance" is a series of exhibitions. According to the sequence of classics, history, philosophy and collections, it extracts the unique humanistic and historical themes of various categories of ancient book exhibits, and comprehensively displays the rare books in the collection to the audience over seven years. It breaks through the general display ideas of ancient books in China. It is an exploration and attempt by the Shenzhen Museum in the protection and utilization of ancient books and the promotion of China's excellent traditional culture.
Currently on display is the theme content of "Lingnan in Poetry and Prose" in the collection. Such as Su Shi's "I eat 300 lychees a day" and "Wherever my heart is at peace is my hometown", which are suitable for friends who love literature.
