It's not that Suzhou is unaffordable, but that the garden in Shenzhen offers more value for money
After a heavy rain, it feels great to have the Shenzhen Garden Expo all to yourself!

Lovely urban Park in Shenzhen 🌳
Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo park is located in Futian District and it is a public and urban area.
The park is quite big, probably you will need around 2-4 hours to explore everything. There are many people walking around but you won’t feel that it is overcrowded. Strongly recommend it!

Rock Garden 🌿🌈🙃
Rock garden or the so-called "dry garden" features a very quiet location in the whole park.
When you enter the garden, all you will hear are birds chirping and insects singing. Its really.quiet there knowing that its near the North gate with the busy streets and cars honking.
Big blocks and pieces of rocks scattered on the garden with dry weeds all over the place.
There are a few trees inside the.garden but mostly, all rocks! Different shapes and sizes of rocks. 😳🤔😊
Rock garden is located on the North area of Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo park in Zhuzillin road, Futian, Shenzhen city.

"Welcome" says the Fortress ✌️
This particular scenic spot is a replica of what seems to be fortress in the early years. Either a fortress, a watch tower, or a gate to the city.
Standing vividly near the West entrance of Yuan Bo Yuan park or commonly known as the Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo park. The fortress is the first thing you will see when you take the West gate as it is elevated through that 20 steep steps up. It is surrounded by thick bushes and red santan flowers.
Free entrance to the park.

The Pakistani pavilion ❤️
Pakistani architecture is defined by multiplicity. Both following the emerging tradition and breaking from it, contemporary projects such as this pavilion contend with multiple histories.
Pakistani architecture main influence is Indo-Islamic architecture which is a combination of Indian and Persian elements.
Pakistani's ancient architecture mostly dominated by tombs and religious shrines. Hundreds of mosques scattered all over the country showing their unique decorations with geometric patterns covering walls, ceilings, even the foor, and doorways.
This particular Pakistani pavilion is located inside Yuan Bo Yuan park or more popularly known as the Shenzhen International Flower Expo park in Futian, Shenzhen

Park with tons of chatacter
1.
Address - 8002 Shennan Road, Futian District, Shenzhen

深圳市福田区深南大道8002号
Highlights - Pagoda, quirky statue, flowers
Rating - 5/5
Shenzhen Garden and Expo Park or Yuanboyuan is an old park in the Futian district that a lot of readers may not have heard of before. Now this may not be as large or clean as Lianhuashan Park, or have the views provided by Bijiashan Park or even be as green as Central Park, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth visiting. In fact quite the opposite, this is exactly why it’s worth visiting.
Now I must start by saying this is without doubt my favourite park in SZ, and I’ve been to most if not all of them in my time here. I really love a good walk in the park to clear my head and refresh myself from the hectic city life. Now as SZ is a city of parks it can be difficult to choose which one to go to, especially with each district having a large and well maintained one to frequent. The most obvious choice would be the local one to wherever you live, since going to park shouldn’t seem like a chore or hassle. But if you wanted to make more of an effort and see a hidden gem then please read on
Now at first glance this park will seem worn out, dated and a bit dirty. And you’d be correct. It does need a little bit of love. But I think this gives it a charm and character. Too many parks in Shenzhen appear pristine and fake, this is a real urban park. An expo park is a park which has mini versions of other places. So this park has lots of little theme area, for example, a Shanghai style garden, or a Suzhou style area. While all of these are not entirely accurate, the Shenzhen one doesn’t remind me SZ at all, they do give a little taste of the rest of China and break up the ordinary trees, grass, trees, you get in some other places. There are also lots of statues and sculptures dotted around, from a giant face which is perfect for a selfie, to classical style females, and all those in between. There’s even a random ship that seems to serve no purpose other than just being there
There is a great Buddhist pagoda in this park too, and if you go early enough in the morning you’ll see and hear the local monks singing and worshipping here, makes for nice walking music! It’s at the top of some steep stairs so some effort is involved, like anything else in life. But the effort is worth it as the pagoda is quite some sight indeed.
Now this park can be quite easy to get lost in, so make sure you remember which exit you choose to enter and exit from, because there are 4, north, south, east and west. There are many sign posts and maps in the park so you’ll be ok, but just as a precaution. For example follow the signs for south gate (if that’s the one you choose to exit from). Also bring water with you as there won’t be anywhere to buy it when you’re walking around (there is a shop by the south gate but its higher prices) and bring bug spray because you WILL get bitten.

After visiting Shenzhen's "Little Jiangnan" Garden Expo Park, I have some heartfelt words to say.
🏡In Shenzhen Garden Expo Park, you can also appreciate the poetic charm of the water towns in Jiangnan. I have been to the Garden Expo Park two or three times before, but I only stayed briefly and left. This time, I explored it in depth and found that it is really a treasure trove, with great scenery and super photogenic spots for taking photos.
🏷Travel Guide
1⃣The Garden Expo Park is very large, and it is difficult to visit and take photos of the entire park in one day. It is divided into four major areas: East, West, South, and North, and is worth visiting slowly multiple times.
2⃣Most of the attractions are concentrated in the East Area (near the East Gate). It is recommended to enter from the East Gate and start exploring. If you want to take photos of garden architecture, it is recommended to wear Hanfu, cheongsam, or new Chinese-style clothing, which are very photogenic. If you are coming for the recent yellow bell flowers and big red apples, you can start exploring from the West Gate.
3⃣For subway travel, take Line 1 to Zhuzilin Station, Exit B2 to reach the East Gate, or take Line 1 to Qiaocheng East Station, Exit C2 to reach the West Gate.
4⃣There are vending machines selling drinks in the park, but no restaurants or convenience stores. If you are bringing children, you can prepare some snacks for them. For meals, you can choose to go to the restaurants outside the East Gate.
5⃣The Garden Expo Park is very large, and you need to walk a lot, so it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes. The South Garden is very photogenic, but there are more people. Walking in, you may feel like you have entered a wedding photography base, as people taking wedding photos and ancient costume photos are concentrated here.
6⃣🎫Tickets: Free and no reservation required. Opening hours: 6:00–22:00, last entry at 21:30.

| Direct subway access and free admission | Big giveaway. There is a Chinese garden with Jiangnan style hidden in downtown Shenzhen - Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park. Here, you can enjoy both natural beauty and cultural charm, as well as garden styles from all over the world, from the gentleness of Jiangnan water towns to the delicacy of Lingnan gardens and the simplicity of Huizhou architecture. It is simply a miniature version of the World Garden Expo. 🌳

Let's explore this treasure garden this weekend. The autumn is getting stronger, and we finally have our first cup of milk tea in autumn. Drinking tea, walking, chatting, and sunbathing with friends, and taking beautiful photos, is so great!

📸Photo spots:
The Garden Expo Park is divided into east, west, south, and north areas. Today, I will take you to explore the east area, where the garden architecture is amazing. My personal favorite is "Nanyuan" and "Tingxiangyuan", come and have a look!
1. 🌿Ink Jiangnan: Imitating the style of Jiangnan gardens, with elements such as pavilions, small bridges, and flowing water, it is one of the popular attractions in the Garden Expo Park.
2. 🏡Zhileyuan: With elements such as curved bridges, pools, rocks, and waterside pavilions, surrounded by plants, it is quiet and elegant.
3. 🌺Nanyuan: Nanyuan is one of the theme gardens favored by ancient style photography enthusiasts in the Garden Expo Park. The whole Nanyuan is built around Cuihu Lake, with white walls and gray tiles, deep corridors, and beautiful lotus flowers in summer.
4. 🏰Tingxiangyuan: Typical Huizhou architectural style, very suitable for taking photos, especially ancient style or Republic of China style photos.
🚶♀Travel route:
Enter from the east gate, then turn right and go straight, your route will be:
Ink Jiangnan → Zhileyuan → Wufengquanyun → Guwushanzhuang → Lianghanyuan → Nanyuan → Lanchuihu → Tingxiangyuan
⚠Notes:
1. There are many mosquitoes, remember to bring mosquito repellent, if you don't have it, there is some in the park, remember to spray some.
2. There are no vending machines in the park, remember to bring water and snacks to avoid hunger.
3. Wear comfortable shoes, as the park is large and you may need to walk a lot.
4. Protect the environment, do not pick flowers or damage plants.
5. If you want to take ancient style or Hanfu photos, entering from the east gate is the fastest way to reach the shooting location.

A coffee shop in a garden in Shenzhen.
Not in Suzhou, but in Shenzhen Garden Expo Park, a newly opened garden-style coffee shop, Zhenshusheng. The name is as elegant as the garden. The store is simple, decorated with plum, orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum, and pine, as well as the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. The owner loves Chinese aesthetics.
The coffee shop is located in the Yueqing Garden at the south gate of the Garden Expo Park. Looking out from the window is a beautiful garden view. There are pavilions, terraces and pavilions in the garden. There is a lotus pond in the courtyard. Drinking coffee by the lotus pond is a happy thought. The coffee shop has two floors, and the second floor has a more beautiful and open view. When I went there, I encountered a brand event that was booked.
The scenery of the Garden Expo Park is so good, now there is finally a place to rest! The Garden Expo Park is not small, and it takes an hour to go around the whole circle. It is recommended to go around each point first, and then rest in the Yueqing Garden. It's also good to sit directly, the air in the garden is good, and oxygen is inhaled.
There is a parking lot at the south gate of the Garden Expo Park. Walk to the left of the square next to the parking lot for 5 minutes to reach Yueqing Garden.
Subway: Qiaocheng East Station Exit A enters from the west gate of the Garden Expo Park, and after passing the buildings of Nanling Town, navigate to Yueqing Garden on the right side of the road. About 10 minutes.

If it's your first time in Shenzhen, I recommend visiting the Garden Expo Park
First stop for taking parents around Shenzhen
After much deliberation between Fairy Lake Botanical Garden and Garden Expo Park, we decided on the latter
Mainly because it's closer
There are very few people at 3 PM on a weekday afternoon, it's neither sunny nor hot
We entered from the East Gate and headed west
Along the way, you can see mostly people taking wedding photos, you can take whatever photos you want
No need to find specific angles, it's just so chill
Location: Shenzhen Garden Expo Park
Transportation: ① Subway Line 1, Zhuzilin Station, Exit B2, walk about 1.2 km to the East Gate; ② Subway Line 1, Qiaocheng East Station, Exit A, walk about 500 meters to the West Gate, so crossing from east to west is an ideal route.

Shenzhen is a great place to visit on weekends, especially for those who enjoy strolling and snapping photos in creative parks
❤️ The creative park, transformed from an old industrial area, is very distinctive. Every corner feels so beautiful, brimming with artistic vibes. It's a fantastic place that never gets boring, even with frequent visits. On weekends, you can also browse the market! Of course, for someone like me who loves taking photos, this place is a perfect photography paradise. Strolling and snapping, very OK
· 🌈 The place is quite large, with many beautiful shops and graffiti. It feels like any corner can produce a great shot.
🌈 There are free exhibitions from time to time at the OCAT Shenzhen.
🌈 On the first and third weeks of each month, there's a creative market where you can find some design-oriented yet practical items.
🌈 I also saw a very distinctive flower shop that had scattered many flower petals🌸 on the ground, which was quite pretty, and the shop was unattended, self-service.
🌈 There are some really nice shops where you can casually pick one to enjoy a pleasant afternoon tea, feeling perfect! ·
📍 Address: OCT-LOFT, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, just navigate to this location.
🚇 Subway: Line 1 Exit A, Line 2 Exit A
🌟 Open all day, free of charge!
🅿️ Parking is not very ample, but wait a bit and you'll find a spot.
· 💥 There are many nearby attractions to visit, all of which can be arranged, and they are all free: Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park, European Impression, Shenzhen Children's Park, St. Anthony's Church, Shenzhen. After a day of visiting many places, it's a fulfilling experience. ·
