Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Shennong Stream Rafting Cultural Tourism Area, referred to as Shennong Stream Rafting Cultural Tourism Area or Shennong Stream Scenic Area, is a tourist attraction located in Badong County, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province.
Shennong Stream is located at the junction of Xiling Gorge and Wu Gorge of the Yangtze River, on the north bank of Badong County. It originates from the southern slope of Shennongjia National Nature Reserve. It is a perennial stream with a total length of 60 km, flowing from north to south, with an average annual flow of 20 cubic meters per second. It receives 17 tributaries along the way, and flows into the Yangtze River at Xirangkou, 2.5 km west of the mouth of Wu Gorge, on the opposite bank of the new county seat of Badong. The drainage area is 1,031 square kilometers, the total area of the scenic area is 300 square kilometers, and the forest coverage rate is over 85%. From the entrance of Shennong Stream Scenic Area, Xirangkou, upstream, there are four gorges in the mainstream: Longchang Gorge, Parrot Gorge, Shennong Gorge, and Mianzhu Gorge.
