There is a public parking lot here, which is much cheaper than private parking, so give priority to finding a public parking lot when visiting. Today, Xiao Ou and I drove to Yilan (Fusenli Mountain) for afternoon tea. We came back in the evening and passed by Shenkeng District. Xiao Ou drove me to Shenkeng Old Street for a stroll. When I saw (Chiayi Pavilion), I couldn’t help but walk in and it felt antique. .I thought it was because he was from Chiayi, the same hometown as me. But it turned out not to be. It was because the well-known general shop owner was named Chiayi. Haha😆What a beautiful misunderstanding. In the end, I ate delicious food. Are you a tofu lover like me? I love all kinds of tofu, from beancurd to dried and fried stinky tofu! So of course I couldn't miss a day trip to Shenkeng, the tofu town of Taiwan. I took a bus from Taipei and 1.5 hour later, I alighted at the entrance of Shenkeng Old Street. The entrance to the old Street is marked by a huge tree and traditional style houses. The shopping street isn't too long but has plenty of shops and restaurants selling different varieties of tofu and tofu products. As it was lunch time, I ventured into a crowded restaurant claiming to sell the best tofu dishes and I was not disappointed:) I ordered fried stinky tofu which was fried to perfection, steamed stinky tofu that came with dried shrimp and salted vegetables, and a hotpot of tofu, blood tofu and pork intestines. Everything was delicious! I also bought some dried beancurd as souvenir as I left the Old Street to take the bus back to Taipei. Overall, Shenkeng is an accessible and heaven for foodies!
