Yilan Matcha Mountain Hiking (Taiwan)
On a rare good weather day in Yilan, I spontaneously decided to go hiking at Matcha Mountain.
If you search for Matcha Mountain, you will find a lot of information, but its official name is actually 'Our Lady of the Mountain Trail,' which most visitors don't know. The name Matcha Mountain originated from a Japanese hiker who visited Taiwan and found the mountain's scenery as green as matcha. He then wrote a travelogue in Japan describing a Matcha Mountain in Taiwan, which made the name famous.
The hiking trail of Matcha Mountain offers pleasant scenery, with lush trees and perennial ferns on both sides. The changing forest scenery along the way made me unable to resist taking many photos to capture the rare beautiful weather.
As the trail gradually ascended, my excitement grew. Every time I looked back, the sunlit trail symbolizing hard work appeared particularly charming, giving a sense of accomplishment. At the summit, I was greeted by a spectacular view, and the vast panorama instantly made me forget my fatigue. The mountain, rich and worth savoring like a matcha latte, was breathtaking!
This was my second visit to Matcha Mountain, and different weather brought different experiences. No matter what kind of matcha flavor, I love it all.
Finally, as I descended, my heart was filled with gratitude, not only for the beautiful natural scenery but also for the refreshing experience this hike brought to my body and mind. The good weather at Yilan's Matcha Mountain is undoubtedly an unforgettable hiking spot in my heart. I will come again!
