A Tour of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi
Recently, I had the privilege of visiting the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, one of the most famous landmarks in the United Arab Emirates.
Before entering the mosque, it is important to pay attention to the dress code to show respect for the local culture and beliefs. Women need to wear long-sleeved tops and long pants, and must cover their hair. Men must wear long pants, but both long and short-sleeved tops are acceptable!
Although some people may find these rules a bit troublesome, I believe it is a way to show respect for the local culture🫡
Upon entering the mosque, I was amazed by its magnificent domes and exquisite decorations. Every detail showcased unparalleled craftsmanship. The carpet in the main hall was soft and luxurious, creating a serene atmosphere.

The stubborn tourist saw the light of Abu Dhabi
🏜️ If Dubai is likened to an entrepreneurial young man, then Abu Dhabi is the low-key Old money💰, occupying a uniquely advantageous geographical position🌏, naturally wealthy, and probably going to continue for another 230 years.💸
🏜️ In the UAE📍, the place I really want to visit is the Sheikh Zayed Mosque🕌 in Abu Dhabi, which is even more stunning in person.🪩
🏜️ However, there is a dress code for entry, and not wanting to wear a black robe, I prepared my outfit in advance. The stubborn tourist did their best, didn't match with anyone else, wasn't signaled⚠️, and passed through smoothly.🔮

The Great Mosque was one of the most impressive buildings that I toured on my recent trip to Abu Dhabi. You really have to admire the details in the building, from the impressive entrance and fountain to the jeweled pillars and fantastic crystal chandeliers. No expense was spared in the design of this building. All our did was ohh and ahh on the design. I was really impressed by the contemporary look of the whole mosque. This is the way to celebrate God. I have to admit that it does have an American touch to it. There is a mall attached to it with a food court and a McDonalds. There really is something for everyone here.
This is an experience not to be missed. Our hotel gave us a ticket to bypass the queues.
Very helpful as the queues were long with coach parties etc. Once inside the mosque (accessed by a long quiet tunnel with travelators) we recommend the free cultural tour which takes about 30 to 45 minutes. It not only gave you insight and interesting facts but also took you to central parts that the crowds could not actually go into. Our tour guide, Aisha Mubarak, was very knowledgeable and friendly and we rate her as excellent. The tour is in English only.
Make sure you register beforehand. The visit is free. We were lucky and a free tour started when we got there. Mahmoud was an amazing guide! Very friendly and knowledgeable, he showed us the highlights in 30 minutes. We even got to go in the big prayer hall, which is typically fenced off.
Clear recommendation!

The Grand Mosque of Abu Dhabi
My personal experience inside the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi was inspiring. From the moment I stepped inside, I was in an atmosphere of beauty, serenity, and spirituality.
The prayer hall, with its enormous central dome, was a masterpiece of design and architecture. The intricate mosaics that adorned the walls told stories from Islamic history. The use of natural light, filtered through the windows and reflected off marble surfaces, created a sense of divine illumination.
The attention to detail in the design was remarkable. The richly patterned carpets, the towering columns, and the enormous chandeliers all contributed to the mosque's grandeur. The space felt both vast and intimate.

This beautiful mosque is located in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Its architecture is amazingly attractive and has grand and majestic touch because of the golden decorations and shining tiles. The tour inside the mosque needs roughly 1 and half hours. Admission is free.
For non Muslim, it is advisable to bring a robe and scarf to cover your body because that is the rule to enter the mosque. For Muslim, wear a decent cloth with hijab. For me, I just bring an abaya and put on top of my cloth when I enter the mosque.
It is a recommended to visit this mosque when you come to Abu Dhabi and I am sure you will love it.

When you mention Abu Dhabi, this place is a must visit! If you don’t visit, it feels like you are missing out.
The details in the mosque is just wow. Every single details are being carefully thought of. That’s why there is a “Grand” in the name of the mosque.
Do note that before you enter the mosque, you have to adhere to clothing requirements where you have to cover up. For ladies, you have to be fully covered and wear a shawl or scarf. For men, your bottom needs to cover till you knees. Before you enter, they will screen you.
Don’t worry, if you do not fulfil the requirements as the mosque is connected to a shopping mall and near the entrance, there is a few shops selling Abayas, long dress, at 40 dirham and shawl.
If you have the opportunity to visit the mosque twice, do visit it at night as the mosque is lighted in blue!

Must visit in Abu Dhabi
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is one of the attractions in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. Take a tour in Abu Dhabi from any tour operator. My suggestion are from GetYour Guide.
If you are in Dubai they do the pickup from the hotel and it takes 1.5hrs to reach the destination.
It is a bit strict the rules inside the mosque.
Did not like the restriction of taking pictures in the pathway where we would like to click the pictures. But they do have designated areas given by them to click the pictures. Even though I was able to manage clicking pictures from different angles inside the mosque.
The design and structure inside the Mosque are fascinating.
Truly love it.
