Yingxian Wooden Pagoda|Thanks to Black Myth: Wukong, it has become known to the world
I had long heard that there is a wooden pagoda in Shanxi, and I had seen it in the books of Liang Sicheng and Lin Huiyin. This time, I came to Shanxi to visit it.

🌈 Scenic Features:
- Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, officially named the Shakyamuni Pagoda of Fogong Temple, is a wooden pagoda structure without a single nail. The pagoda was built during the Liao Dynasty and has withstood numerous wars and earthquakes, yet it still stands firm.
- Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, along with the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy and the Eiffel Tower in France, is known as one of the world's three great towers. Its cultural, historical, and scientific values are widely recognized.
- The entire scenic area is not large and revolves around this pagoda. Due to some tilting of the pagoda, only the first floor is currently open to the public.
- Besides the wooden pagoda, there is also Xiaoxitian nearby, which offers a better view for photographing the pagoda.
- The Guanyin statue in front of the pagoda is also beautiful but often overlooked.
- The cultural and creative ice cream comes in three colors. My daughter chose chocolate, but I personally think yellow looks better.

🚗 Transportation Tips:
- There is a parking lot, making self-driving very convenient.
- It is recommended to park at the North Gate parking lot, which is within walking distance. If you park outside, you will need to take a shuttle bus.
·
💗 Other Tips:
- We visited during the summer vacation, and it was extremely hot with no place to cool off nearby. It is recommended to take sun protection measures in summer; autumn and winter should be better.
- The most special feature of the wooden pagoda is its mortise and tenon structure, which is intricate and cannot be repaired. Therefore, the wood is nearly a thousand years old. Pay attention to the details when visiting.
- After the popularity of 'Black Myth: Wukong,' this wooden pagoda has also become famous, attracting many tourists. However, please remember that this is a Buddhist holy site. Maintain basic respect during your visit, do not make noise, and do not damage any items in the scenic area.
