I found the treasure town of Shengzhou, Zhejiang while traveling reversely!
Shengzhou is the core of the Tang Poetry Road in eastern Zhejiang and the birthplace of Chinese Yue Opera. In the clouds and mists of history, there is a shining brilliance. This treasure town is perfect for a weekend trip when there are not many people there! !
You can visit most of the attractions in two days, and there is no ticket cost.
The first day's route: Ningbo - Check in to the hotel - City God's Temple - Ancient City Wall - Yuexiu Road - Yue Opera Town - Yue Opera Museum - Huatang Ancient Town The second day's route: Chongren Town - Xiawang Town - Return
🔷Xiawang Town
Mainly just to see the basalt rocks! There are 2.5 million-year-old basalts, which are geological relics from the end of the Tertiary Period or the beginning of the Quaternary Period. What is peculiar about them is that they are columnar in appearance, so they are also called columnar basalts.
🔷Huatang Ancient Town
Of course, I went here for Wang Xizhi - elegant houses, quiet ponds, everything an ancient village should have here. Jintingguan is the former residence of Wang Xizhi, who lived in seclusion here in his later years.
🔷Yue Opera Town
A must-visit check-in when coming to Shengzhou! The thousand-year-old Yanxi Tang Poetry Road, the birthplace of Yue Opera for a century, is an ancient theater with stage after stage, giving birth to various excerpts. You must come to experience the unique charm of Yue Opera art. Performances may not be held every day, so please check the time in advance. Next to it is the Yue Opera Museum, you can go there together.
🔷Chongren Town
There are so many interesting towns in Shengzhou. With a history of thousands of years, it has the largest ancient stage in Zhejiang, with uniform blue bricks and gray tiles, high walls and deep courtyards, fine carvings on partitions, doors and windows, and exquisite craftsmanship.
If you stay for 2 more days, there are other attractions you can visit:
🔹The scenery of the terraced fields in Zhangjiatian Village is stunning
🔹Xiaokunshan Zhejiang Xiaoseda has beautiful colors
🔹Baiyankeng Village has a thousand-year-old torreya forest
🔹Baizhang Waterfall, the first waterfall group in the south of the Yangtze River
🔹Xibai Mountain is indeed the top of Shaoxing
🔹Li Qingzhao came to Nanshan Lake for rafting!
🔹Red Buddha Temple is a good place for hiking and mountain climbing

▪Tickets: Basically, the attractions are free of charge, but the Yue Opera Town requires some fees.
