I bought a ticket to Shangri-La just to dance the Guozhuang!
🎁 The right way to experience Shangri-La
On the first day, I traveled from the inland to Shangri-La, which is over 3,000 meters above sea level. 🏔️ Don't shout, stay up late, or take a bath or shower! It's easy to get altitude sickness. 😶🌫️ I suggest you rest quietly in Dukezong Ancient Town and stay overnight to recharge your batteries!
I chose this homestay from the many in the ancient town because it is located downstairs from Sifang Street, the super popular place online 🔥 to dance the Guozhuang. You can feel the unity of all ethnic groups, which may be the meaning of travel.
🪷 Strong Tibetan atmosphere
White walls, wooden tiles, and barley walls. It's perfect for taking photos in Tibetan clothes. 💯 The first-floor lounge is a great place to warm up by the fire and drink tea. 🍵 The second floor has 24-hour oxygen machines in all rooms to ensure a good rest and sleep. 💤 The duplex room has a large bed and a skylight to see the stars. 🌌 The third floor has the owner's private wine collection. 🍷 The fourth floor has a sunroom and an open-air terrace. You can have breakfast here, overlook Dukezong Ancient Town during the day, and watch the prayer wheel light up and the Guozhuang dance at night!
💖 Complete facilities and thoughtful service
Disposable bath towels
Disposable toilet seat covers
Disposable bath bags
Disposable toothpaste and toothbrushes
Bathrobes
Homemade shampoo, shower gel, and soap (all-natural, handmade, and additive-free)
Breakfast (barley cakes, butter tea, apples, oranges, and eggs)
The owner and Tibetan staff are very hospitable. 💕 They provide pick-up and drop-off services, help with luggage, and solve any problems you may have. They are very attentive and make you feel at home!
If I come to Shangri-La again, I will choose to stay at Lexi. It's so convenient!

I haven't left the house for three days in Shangri-La, and staying here overlooking the ancient town has been satisfying
🎈Returning to Shangri-La just before May Day, after completing the Shangri-La Eastern Ring Road and chasing the sea of flowers, I was so tired and overwhelmed with work that I just wanted to stay quietly in the Dukezong Ancient Town for a couple of days.
🥰Luckily, I chose the right guesthouse this time. As soon as I entered Lexi, I felt the strong Tibetan culture. The rough stone walls, exquisite carvings, bright colors, the fireplace, musical instruments, wood furniture, soft fabrics, warm lighting, and detailed decorations all reveal the owner's care, making you feel like you've come home.
ps This place is super suitable for wearing Tibetan clothes for travel photography.
🌈The super large observation deck on the top floor of the guesthouse is simply amazing. From here, you can overlook the entire Dukezong Ancient Town, with distant mountains, ancient temples, and bustling markets all unfolding before your eyes like a painting. The adjacent sunroom made of glass is also very nice. I spent half a day here having breakfast, enjoying afternoon tea, and reading.
🛏️Because I stayed for two extra days on a whim, and the guesthouse was popular, I ended up staying in three different room types for three nights 😂 (fortunately, the auntie helped with packing and moving luggage, so it wasn't too much trouble)—a triple room, a starry sky, and a duplex suite with sunlight. All rooms are fully equipped, with separate wet and dry areas, and come with a dining table, TV, bathtub, smart toilet, disposable bath products as standard, and a specially customized plant-based toiletry set.
Each room has its own character. The triple room and the suite are very suitable for families or a few friends to stay together. Especially on the last day, it was a rare relaxation to deal with work in the duplex attic facing the ancient town outside the window.
🙌The boss and the front desk lady are very hospitable. For breakfast, whether in your room, the living room, or on the terrace, you can enjoy it wherever you like. If they see you alone at lunch or dinner, they will invite you to join them.
😘In short, every moment at Lexi Guesthouse feels incredibly comfortable and pleasant.
