Shanghai Jiaotong University History Museum is located on the second and third floors of the old library, with a total exhibition area of over 600 square meters. The museum has three exhibition halls. The time span of the first exhibition hall is from the establishment of Nanyang Public School to the liberation of Shanghai, and it is divided into three periods: "starting up of Nanyang Public School", "building a modern engineering university", and "Jiaotong University integrating engineering and management"; the time span of the second exhibition hall is from Shanghai Liberation so far. These two exhibition halls display nearly 700 precious cultural relics, documents, photos, etc., reflecting the development of the school for more than a century and the fruitful results of the prosperity of learning and research. The third exhibition hall is the academician performance exhibition of the "two academies" of Shanghai Jiaotong University. The photo materials and actual documents of nearly 200 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering who have studied or taught in Jiaotong University are displayed. The academicians are arranged in order of their birth dates, focusing on their biographies and major achievements. The third exhibition room also has the "Professor Lin Tongyan's Exhibition Room", which displays more than 300 photos, works, papers, picture materials, etc. pieces.
