[2025 Shanghai Attraction] Travel Guide for Shanghai Former Provisional Government Site of the Republic of Korea (Updated Apr)

Two of us could only take one day off, so we went on a 2-night, 3-day trip from Saturday to Monday. Here’s our travel itinerary. ❤️Day 1❤️ 1️⃣ Dim Sum Lunch at DimDouDum We took a 9 AM flight from Incheon to Shanghai, arriving just in time for lunch. We had dim sum at DimDouDum in Xintiandi. 2️⃣ Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea A must-visit historical site for Koreans! The entrance fee is 20 yuan. 3️⃣ Xintiandi Shopping Right next to the Provisional Government site is a famous shopping street. I bought cosmetics at Harmay. 4️⃣ Tianzifang A famous area with various shops in small alleys. Great for buying souvenirs. I bought tea at Blend Bunny, and my companion bought magnets at the shop next door. 5️⃣ Yuyuan Garden When we visited in January, it was festival season, so we had to buy a ticket to enter. Instead, there was a large night market outside. 6️⃣ Nanjing Road East A must-visit in Shanghai! We walked from Nanjing Road East Station to the Bund, enjoying the sights. 7️⃣ The Bund The iconic night view of Shanghai. The view of Nanjing Road East in front and European-style buildings behind is beautiful. 8️⃣ Crab Noodle Soup for Dinner The restaurant we originally planned to visit had a long wait, so we went to a local restaurant that seemed popular. We had crab noodle soup. 9️⃣ Getting a Manicure Nail art is almost half the price in China compared to Korea. If you like nail art, I recommend getting it done while traveling. I made a reservation in Korea and got gel removal and magnetic gel nails for 139 yuan. ❤️Day 2❤️ 1️⃣ Starbucks Reserve Roastery We had booked a day tour to a water town, so we had to be at People’s Square Station by 11:50 AM. After breakfast at the hotel, we had coffee at Starbucks, which is just one subway stop away. 2️⃣ Fengjing Ancient Town There are several water towns near Shanghai. We went to Fengjing Ancient Town. It opened in 2023, so it’s clean and not crowded. Great for photos. Recently, many people have been getting Wanghong makeup and wearing Hanfu for photos at Yuyuan Garden, and you can do the same here for a much cheaper price. You need to book in advance, so if you’re interested, make a reservation. 3️⃣ Late Dinner at Haidilao Hot Pot The tour ends back at People’s Square Station. We had a late dinner at Haidilao nearby. ❤️Day 3❤️ We had breakfast and headed to the airport for our 12 PM flight. We arrived in Incheon a little after 3 PM.

Shanghai trip that I booked right away as soon as my Chinese visa was released I went alone, so I was worried and worried before going, but Shanghai is a travel choice that I absolutely! have no worries or regrets about🇨🇳 I went alone for 3 nights and 4 days and saw everything that Shanghai is famous for, including the Bund, Nanjing East Road, Oriental Pearl Tower, Yuyuan, and Disney!! Also, I went alone, but I didn't have this opportunity so I rented a costume at Yuyuan and enjoyed the fairy experience🥰 🧳3 nights and 4 days travel schedule🧳 📍Day01 Airport → Check-in to accommodation → Nanjing East Road → Dinner → Huangpu River Cruise → Bund night view → Accommodation * I couldn't go on the Huangpu River Cruise because of the heavy snow on the first day, but if you have time, this is a recommended experience! 📍Day02 Accommodation → Wukanglu + Wukang Mansion → Lunch → Xintiandi + Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea → Yewon → Yewon Costume Rental Snap Photo Experience → Waitan → Dinner The second day was the busiest day of the year. If you go to Wukang Mansion in the morning, there will be fewer people, so it's great for taking pictures!! Also, when moving from Wukanglu to Xintiandi, instead of taking a taxi or subway, try using a 🚲shared bicycle🚲!! There's only a straight path, so it's so convenient and great to ride a bicycle and enjoy the Shanghai air~ It's like Korea's Ddareungi, so I recommend riding a bicycle☺️☺️ The highlight of the second day was experiencing the fairy costume + snapshot photo experience at Yewon. I went alone, so I wanted to take pretty pictures, so I made a reservation in advance! (You can go on the day without a reservation and ask for the experience!) The staff was so kind, and they asked me what style I wanted, showed me a draft, and made it pretty! I'm crazy about Chinese dramas, so I asked them to do it while showing me the photos I wanted, and they did it so well! The photographers even showed me poses for the snapshots and said they'd take more photos if I wanted to!! In addition, they even used various props to take the photos, so it was one of the most fun experiences!! If you have time, it's also fun to experience being a fairy at Yewon, so try it out!🤭🤭 📍Day 03 Accommodation → Oriental Pearl Tower → Lunch → Disneyland → Accommodation The third day was Disneyland Day!! Actually, when I went to Hong Kong, I rode all the rides I wanted at Disneyland, so my goal for Shanghai Disneyland was Zootopia, Tron, and the parade, so I didn't do the open run and went leisurely around 2 o'clock! So I looked around Oriental Pearl Tower in the morning, went to a nearby shopping mall to shop, ate, and left my luggage at the accommodation and headed to Disney~ When I visited Disney, it was Christmas season + the weekend, so there were really a lot of people!! But I didn't have to wait separately to enter Disney or Zootopia! I think I waited about an hour and a half for the rides on the weekends! I also went alone, so I got stuck in the single ride line and went into Zootopia after waiting for 30 minutes ✌️✌️ I also waited for about an hour and a half to ride Tron, and I think I waited less than 40 minutes for the other rides!! I also saw the Disney highlights, the illumination and fireworks, and went back to my lodging! To be honest, I think the illuminations I saw in Hong Kong were more spectacular. In Shanghai, everyone was there 2 hours before the illuminations, so I couldn't see them properly, which was a bit disappointing. 🥹 📍Day 04 Check-out → Tarunpa shopping → Airport → Korea On the last day, I did a quick Tarunpa shopping. There were a lot of snacks I wanted to take back to Korea, so I filled my suitcase with everything from Lay's potato chips to Oreos and headed to the airport👍 I took the Maghreb train to the airport. It only takes 7 minutes to get to the airport, so ride the Maghreb train!!! 💛 This was my 3 nights and 4 days in Shanghai, which were both fulfilling and leisurely!! There is a place that Koreans cannot miss when visiting Shanghai. It is the site of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea located in Madangru. This place, which is located like an ordinary house, was passed by when I first visited. After seeing the site of the Provisional Government, which is smaller than expected, any Korean will naturally feel a sense of solemnity. The entrance fee is 20 yuan and can only be paid in cash, so make sure to bring cash. The entrance fee is used to maintain the memorial hall, but I heard that it is very difficult to operate. It was even on the verge of being closed down. However, it is such a precious space for the Republic of Korea, so I hope many people visit and protect it. Photography is prohibited inside, so I only took photos of the exterior. As I went up and down the narrow passages and stairs and looked around the dormitory, kitchen, and office that were used at the time, the more I looked around, the more I felt sad. If you walk down from Bund to Nanjing East Road and People's Square, you will come across an area densely packed with old Shanghai-style buildings. There are several places in Shanghai that sell Hongmi Chan, but among them, Jeomjeomdeok has many stores, so I recommend going to the one nearby. Hongmi Changfun is a must! You have to try it, and dim sum such as har gou and chive dumplings are delicious. You can also order tea, and we drank refreshing bubble tea from Coco because it was too rich. 2️⃣ Republic of Korea Temporary Historic Site A must-visit place for Koreans in Shanghai! There may be a wait right after opening and lunch, so it would be a good idea to avoid those times. Personally, I think you should definitely order chives/cucumbers/beef skewers/chicken feet! Especially if you like chicken feet, you should definitely try it. The staff could speak light Korean, and the admission fee was 20 yuan per person. Since it is a meaningful place for Koreans, it was heartbreaking that many people came and showed interest, and I felt that they were putting more effort into preservation than I thought, but it was a pleasant visit, and I think it was worth more than the admission fee. The EggStation omelet was especially delicious🍳 I took a picture while waiting for a taxi in the hotel lobby I was planning to walk around the city today, so I bought milk tea at Coco and looked at souvenirs at TienZifang, and packed a tart at Lilian Bakery🧁 The cheese tart at Lilian Bakery is so delicious, you guys😋 After resting for a while at the hotel, I went to the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea🇰🇷 This is my second visit, but my heart aches every time I go🥺 I had milk tea at Idiandian in front of the Provisional Government (2 milk teas a day) I had guo ba rou, to dal-bok, and fried rice at a restaurant called Dongbei Chai Guan🍖 It was much more delicious than the restaurant I went to the day before!! I finished it off at the hotel pool🏊♀️
