Blue tiles as far as the eye can see💙 Each one has a different pattern and design, so you'll never get bored no matter how much you look at them! We went early in the morning (opening time at 8am). The number of tour groups and other visitors increases, so if you want to take photos without people, it's definitely recommended to go early in the morning🫡 It is said that visiting here twice to pray is the same as going to Mecca once. If you only have one day in Samarkand, you might consider visiting these attractions: ❗Shay-i-Zinda Tombs-Hazrat Khizr Mosque-Bibi Khanum Mosque and Mausoleum-Siab Bazaar-Gur Amir Mausoleum-Timur Square-Registan Square Start the morning at 1⃣️Shay-Zinda Tombs This was originally the innermost and most sacred shrine - the tomb of a cousin of the Prophet Muhammad. He is said to have brought Islam to the region in the 7th century. Later, members of the Timurid family were buried nearby one after another, and in the 14th century, Shah-i Zindah began to take on its current structure. The 500-meter avenue connects the mausoleums, and each building has rich mosaic patterns. 💰Ticket price: 40ks Turn right and arrive at 2⃣️Hazrat Khir Mosque The mosque was built in the 8th century AD, when Muslims had just conquered the city. 📸You can have a panoramic view of Bibi Hanim from the platform. 💰Tickets: Free Continue walking to reach 3⃣️ Bibi Khanum Mosque and Mausoleum Bibi Khanum was Timur's Chinese concubine. The entire square, including three madrasas, survived the earthquake and remained standing. The Ulugbek Madrasah on the west side was completed in 1420 and is the oldest preserved Islamic madrasa in the world. It is also a model of the Central Asia Economics Institute. On the east side is the Lion Seminary, the most worth seeing is the animal decorative paintings on the arch. In front is the Jiryakali Theological Seminary, which has a golden roof covered with gold foil. Hi, welcome back to my trip post! After arriving in Samarkand, we booked a Yandex ride to our hotel, Aisha Registan (RM150 per night). The hotel is located opposite the Registan building, and it's only a 5-minute walk to Registan. After checking in, we went to Shah-i-Zinda, our first attraction to visit. Shah-i-Zinda is a world-famous example of a historically significant site that has been continuously developed over the centuries. Over 1,000 years ago, it began with a single religious monument, Shah-i-Zinda. This stunning necropolis, one of the most renowned sites in Samarkand, is known for its intricate tile work and rich history, dating back to the 14th century. The entrance fee was RM31.50, and you can pay using a credit card or cash at the counter. Most of the magnificent buildings we see today have been restored during the Soviet era. In addition to the skills of Timurid craftsmen, they also reflect the bold imagination of modern craftsmen. The center of the city is the Registan Square, which is formed by three madrasas. Starting from here, we walked past the Bibi Hanim Mosque, Hazrat Khir Mosque, and finally arrived at Shah-i-Zinda, the attraction I was most looking forward to. Shah-i-Zinda means "the immortal husband". The mausoleum complex of women and nobles of Timur's family is decorated with blue tiles and patterns on the mausoleum avenue. It changes into a variety of colors such as royal blue and azure blue at different times, which is solemn yet romantic.

Getting There - It is Easily accessible by taxi or walking from the city center of Samarkand. Food & Restaurants - There are a handful of cafes and restaurants in the vicinity~ They can offer a taste of Uzbek cuisine and international dishes. My favorite dish to try is the green noodles which is an Uzbek dish. Shopping - Inside the tourist site there are 2-3 souvenir shops but they are less reasomably priced. Nearby there are some markets for unique souvenirs, including traditional crafts, ceramics, and spices.
