7 years ago, I was tired of my daily life and needed a rest, so I stayed at Baekryunsa Temple in Gangjin, Jeollanam-do for a month. In the morning, birds called me. Then. I woke up thinking it was breakfast time. Breakfast time is 07:00, lunch 12:00, dinner 17:00. Here, the temple food is 👍 Then, I ate breakfast and took a walk around. It is a walking course from Baekryunsa Temple to Dasan Chodang and back. It takes 1 hour to go around Dasan Chodang. It is also famous as the place of exile of Jang Yak-yong. There is a hiking trail, but the peak is Mandeoksan Gitdaebong, the back mountain of Baekryunsa Temple. It took about 1 hour to go round trip. It is also called Mandeoksa Temple (萬德寺) because it is located on Mandeoksan Mountain (408m). The temple was founded in 839 (1st year of King Munseong) at the end of the Unified Silla period by Monk Muyeom (無染). The temple is said to have been founded as Mandeoksa after the name of the mountain, and was recently renamed Baekryeonsa. During the Goryeo Dynasty, Buddhism was revered, and the temple's influence expanded under the leadership of Wonmyo State Preceptor Yose (了世). However, during the Joseon Dynasty, monks were looked down upon due to the anti-Buddhist policy, and Baekryeonsa began to decline.
