Yamazaki Distillery – A must-see!
#JapanAttractions #Yamazaki
If you like whiskey, have you ever thought about visiting the original master? Yamazaki Distillery is the best distillery I have ever been to! Because its introduction is the most serious, and as a whiskey lover, I generally like Yamazaki's whiskey. I like both Yamazaki and Hibiki very much, because they go well with basically any food.
It turns out that the most important thing in making wine is water!

[A must-see for whiskey lovers] A field trip for adults
Access: Within 10 minutes on foot from Yamazaki Station on the JR Kyoto Line. Please note that there is a good chance that there will be no taxis at the nearest station, so walking may be your only option.
Tourist attractions: Learn about the history of whiskey and actually sample whiskey. This is the best place for whiskey lovers, as you can drink very rare liquors for just a few hundred yen.
On the second floor, there are many Yamazaki and Suntory-related items for sale, and I bought a distillery-exclusive whiskey and a Yamazaki non-aged whiskey to take home. (Information as of June 2022)

Mount Tenno Hike
Tennozan, the turning point of the nation
You can start climbing when the sky is clear. There are narrow paths along the way, but there are elderly people who take a walk there every morning, so we exchange greetings as we head towards the summit.
The summit is a small square, so you can take a break here and imagine yourself as Hideyoshi.
An early morning hike in the summer is highly recommended.

Autumn garden walk
Hello!
My name is Shinya and I post about architecture and travel on Instagram!
Today I would like to introduce the Asahi Beer Oyamazaki Villa Museum of Art in Kyoto.
This museum was designed by architect Tadao Ando!
The space between the famous concrete walls has a unique atmosphere and is a special space.

Japan Suntory Yamazaki Distillery: A Whisky Lover’s Journey
We had a great experience visiting the Suntory Yamazaki Whisky Factory. The museum was well-organized and very informative, giving a good look into the history and the displays in the museum were interesting and easy to follow.
One of the highlights was the tasting lounge, where we got to taste a few different types of Yamazaki whisky.
Don’t forgot to purchase limited Yamazaki Distillery Exclusive Whisky (limit 1 person per bottle).
Overall, it’s a must-visit for whisky lovers or anyone interested in Japanese craftsmanship and tradition. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the Osaka or Kyoto area!

First sunrise: The turning point at Mount Tennoh's Hatatatematsu Observatory
🗓️Itinerary management: Home - Yamazaki Station - Hoshoji Temple - Hatatatematsu Observatory
- Tennozan Peak - Ogura Shrine - Shimamoto Station
The annual first sunrise run.
This year the weather was good and the sun rose around 7:10am🌅
I climbed from Hatatatematsu Observatory to the peak.
The mountain is 280m above sea level, so it's perfect for hiking.
There are explanations of the decisive battle that decided the fate of the country here and there.
After descending the mountain, I went to Shimamoto Station.
This station is the former site of Sakurai Station and is famous as the place where the Kusunoki family and father and son parted ways.
It was a pleasant morning on New Year's Day.

A Hidden Gem in Kyoto | Asahi Beer Oyamazaki Villa Museum of Art
The entrance to the museum reminds me of the fantasy world of Spirited Away. After passing through the bridge, the view opens up.
🔥In early December, the maple leaves here are at their most beautiful.
🔥At the highest point, a century-old English mansion is hidden in the mountains.
🍁The museum consists of the main building, "Oyamazaki Villa," an English-style villa designed by businessman Shotaro Kaga, and other buildings designed by the famous architect Tadao Ando, including "The Underground Jewel Box" (Underground Gallery) and "The Dream Box" (Yamato Gallery).
🏠Tadao Ando is known for his unique architectural designs using exposed concrete. In the museum, his designs for the Underground Gallery and Yamato Gallery harmonize with the surrounding environment, showcasing his exceptional design talent.
✅The Underground Gallery is a semi-underground structure with a cylindrical exhibition space topped with greenery, blending with the surrounding landscape.
The stairs to the Underground Gallery lead to a semi-subterranean circular exhibition hall, which is not very visible from the ground, minimizing its impact on the surrounding environment.
The exposed concrete architectural design is very Tadao Ando.
✅The Yamato Gallery is box-shaped, echoing the cylindrical Underground Gallery.
⛰️There is a café on the second floor with a terrace offering a great view to the south. In front of you is the confluence of the Katsura, Uji, and Kizu rivers, forming the Yodo River, which flows westward into Osaka Bay.
🚌Transportation: Free shuttle bus from JR Yamazaki Station and Hankyu Oyamazaki Station
🎫Tickets: Prices vary depending on the exhibition, generally between JPY 1,300 and 1,500

지으니의 하루하루
Perfect for those of you who like to get close to #nature and love natural scenery📍Oyamazaki-cho, Kyoto Prefecture
By the way, I went to Japan alone for 1️⃣1️⃣ days
Although it is to find friends who study abroad in #Japan
But consider giving yourself a holiday to #travel
So one day I went to Amanohashidate in Kyoto with my friends
It's been a long journey by car🫠
And Oyamazaki-cho is one of the transfer points in my land
Then I was deeply attracted by the natural scenery here🏞
And on the second day of that day
I took advantage of my friends going to school
I went to Oyamazaki-cho by myself to stroll around and take photos📸
It's really super beautiful!! ️
If you like taking photos of natural scenery, you might as well consider going to Oyamazaki-cho💝
As for what I strolled around Oyamazaki-cho
Let me share the Vlog I shot with you later😚

Wind Chimes
#KyotoTourism
Kyoto is not just Kyoto city, it is one of the power spots. Minase Shrine is a 6 minute walk from Hankyu Minase Station. It was originally the second home of the Emperor and is the birthplace of the chrysanthemum crest. The sound of the wind chimes 🎐 is refreshing and will ward off evil spirits. You might want to go to Yamazaki on your way back. Maybe Suntory Yamazaki will welcome you. If you want to reevaluate your life, head to Tennozan on the mountain behind the house. There are many things to see. You will surely discover a new side of yourself. The charm of Kyoto will increase even more. Well then.

I participated in a factory tour to learn about whiskey
The nearest station is Oyamazaki Station in Kyoto, and it is a 10-minute walk to the Yamazaki Distillery
This time, I participated in a paid guided tour
As you walk through each process, a very sweet bread-like scent drifts
If you are not good with alcohol, you may get drunk just from the scent
It is very educational for enjoying alcohol
At the end of the tour, there was a garden with beautiful autumn leaves, and I was able to see something great
It is located in the middle of Kyoto and Osaka, so if you are planning a trip, please make a reservation
There were also many overseas travelers participating

If you participate in the paid factory tour...
You can drink Yamazaki whiskey only at the Yamazaki distillery! ️
What's more, you'll learn about the color and aroma of the whiskey, and at the end you'll be taught how to make a delicious highball
It depends on the person, but the person who attended this time seemed to have fallen in love with Yamazaki and became an attendant, so he explained it to us while we drank
Godiva has made chocolates to go with the whiskey as a snack
I like Hakushu, so I'd love to visit the Hakushu factory in Yamanashi Prefecture
It's also fun to travel for the purpose of visiting various factories

🚗Private parking available
●Points
This shrine is the original shrine of Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine and enshrines Hachiman-no-Okami.
There are various theories about its founding, including one that says it was not established at the same time as Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine, and another that says Rikyu Hachiman Shrine was established between the Northern and Southern Courts period and the beginning of the Muromachi period.
