I went twice before the pandemic, and it seemed like the dads were having more fun than the kids. They kept asking me to take photos for them. As the pandemic has calmed down a bit, I went during Golden Week. The admission fee has gone up, but I think it's a little nicer and there are more animals. The paintings have gotten better and there is more variety. I recommend seeing the elephants who can play hula hoop and soccer.

Ichihara Lakeside Museum is an art museum built next to the lake, overlooking Lake Takataki, the largest lake in Chiba Prefecture. Kominato Waiting Room is located right next to Goi Station. You can get a close-up view of the Kominato Railway from inside the store or from the terrace outside. The store also sells very cute Kominato Railway goods. You can also eat bread and sweets, so it's recommended for a short break. #food #railway #freespot

It takes about an hour to get there from Tokyo on the Aqua Line. Various animals such as capybaras, peacocks, and deer roam the zoo. You can feed them all. There is also a place called Giraffe Terrace where you can feed the giraffes. We were able to experience glamping at a state-of-the-art facility in the middle of the forest, and it was a wonderful experience. There was also a zoo on the premises, which the kids loved. While driving along Prefectural Route 81, the red Nijūbashi Bridge (Kannonbashi Bridge) caught my eye! Wondering what it was, I parked my car and crossed the bridge, where I discovered a temple called Shusse Kannon Yoroyama Rikkokuji! I entered through the entrance with the thought of just stopping by for a bit, but that was a foolish idea lol. There were steep slopes, stairs, and dimly lit tunnels, and I wondered where I was heading!! (It felt like an adventure, and I was excited!) It's quite a hidden spot, so it's a great place to stop by on a drive or short trip. Yoro Valley is known as the "latest autumn leaves in Kanto", but the best time to view the leaves is always later. Here, you can still catch the tail end of autumn in mid-December. Kurimata Falls is the best place to enjoy the autumn leaves in Yoro Valley. Unlike traditional waterfalls that flow rapidly, Kurimata-no-Yaki flows slowly. The stream flows gently and the valley is dyed red by the autumn colors. This is a great place for hiking. You can walk along the trails covered with red leaves and slowly admire the forest that has not been trimmed by humans. Japanese tourists came in groups of three or four, and when they were tired they drank coffee on the rocks by the stream. Apparently, the geomagnetic reversal can be seen at the boundary of the volcanic ash layer of Mount Ko-Ontake, which erupted about 770,000 years ago. Of course, you can't see the geomagnetic reversal with the naked eye lol.

Ichihara Elephant Kingdom We had a great time being so close to the animals. The only drawback is that the price is quite high compared to other zoos. The tempura bowl at Yamayo was amazing.

Yoro Valley in Chiba Prefecture is a famous spot for viewing autumn leaves! We chose the easiest hiking course from the many available. It took about 30 minutes to an hour, and we enjoyed the beautiful autumn leaves 🍁 (late November) You can also cross the stone bridge on the way! I walked through Yoro Valley, in the middle of the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture. We had to turn back halfway along the Awamatano Falls promenade due to a slope collapse. Still, it was quite walkable. In early December the leaves have finished falling (though some still remain) so your feet are likely to get wet. We also took a leaf-peeping cruise on Kameyama Lake. Nomizo Falls, which looks like a heart, apparently also looks like a heart in the mornings in March and September. I'd like to walk there in the summer as well, as it seems to be full of negative ions.
