It is known for its significant role in Philippine and world history, being the site of the Battle of Mactan where its then Chieftain Lapu-Lapu defeated Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan in 1521. Aside from its history, Lapu-lapu City also attracts tourists with its beaches, seafoods, various water activities, and resorts – from budget-friendly to luxury ones. For this worktrip, we decided to stay at one of the Junior Suites of Savoy Hotel at Mactan Newtown. It is part of a township development, thus, it is close to many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. This is the new town beach that is rising in Mactan these days. The entrance fee is 650 pesos! If you pay the entrance fee, you can exchange it for food at the restaurant located on the beach. First of all, the view is good, and if you go early, you can get a sunbed right in front of the sea. The sunset is a work of art👍

What I like most is my experience at the poolside bar. the bartender is quite accomodating and sensible enough that I'm confused of what best to drink at that moment (25th of May). Best for solo travellers. #lakwatserangparak

The Savoy Hotel exceeded expectations with impeccable service, luxurious amenities, and elegant décor. The night stay was a delightful experience, from the opulent room to the exquisite dining options. A truly unforgettable stay.

If you go to Cebu, I recommend Savoy Hotel in Mactan Newtown, 15 minutes from the airport, for a cost-effective hotel at around 65,000 won. They also run a shuttle to the beach, and the cost-effective breakfast is excellent. The rooms are also clean and there is a safe, which is nice. The omelets that you only get at 5-star hotels are made by a chef in the morning. The bathroom in the room has good water pressure, and you can see the ocean from the window. However, the size of the room and bathroom are not that big. But they are not so small that they are uncomfortable. They are just right. It is a little unfortunate that you have to check out at 11 o'clock, but the security around the hotel is good. There is a 24-hour 7-Eleven convenience store right in front, a 24-hour McDonald's 7 minutes away, and a Starbucks that is open from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. 5 minutes away. And nearby places to visit include Lux Club and Chubi Chubi Restaurant.

The hotel is the standard! You are surrounded with hospitable staffs, the check in process is chill, no rush or no issues at all! Everyone is indeed a professional in this hotel! One thing i also like about this hotel is the location itself, it's very accessible, clean, neat, and also Instagramable, you are also close to convenience stores, supermarket, coffee shop and etc. I like how they also have a room for gym, and a pool.
