Beautiful white Odori Park
Winter view of Odori Park viewed from Sapporo TV Tower
Also captured during day and night. And a photo of Sapporo TV Tower.
Sapporo weather is extremely cold at 0 Celsius. Snow, sleet, rain in a few days. But totally enjoyed the trip and food.

One of my favoruite cities in Hokkaido, Sapporo is the perfect winter destination where snow creates a cozy and nostalgic ambiance to enjoy the vibrant city. I love the local fish markets, mouthwatering sushi bars, amazing ramen, and fun sake bars. The covered street is great for shopping and protects you from the wind on cold days. Make sure to head to the train station for a plethora of eateries including our favourite cheese tarts and the best revolving belt sushi. The kids cant get enough of playing at Odori Park where you can build snowmen and also capture pretty views of Sapporo TV Tower A perfect place to spend a fun and busy winter holiday.

Lovely scenery. Nice park surrounding. I went up to the Sapporo TV Tower and believe that it is a must do if you are in the area, the views are amazing from so high up and the park surrounding is lovely especially if you go on sunny days when there are market stalls selling ice cream and food. You have to wait in line, but at the end, a view on Odori park from this tower is most splendid! There is a good souvenir shop just near the observation platform, plus apple juice in cans you can buy from a vending machine right on the top was delicious! “Robot” shrine is also a very interesting feature of this place! Recommended, if you have time in Sapporo.

[Hokkaido is now Tokyo Tower? It turned out to be...]
At first glance, it looks like a Tokyo Tower... If you don't pay attention to the structure of the tower and the surrounding environment, it is easy to mistake this for the Tokyo Tower. This is actually the Sapporo TV Tower, and the Tokyo Tower is completely two towers.
Sapporo TV Tower is next to Odori Park. It can be seen directly from the Odori Subway Station. I don't know if it's not big enough, or if everyone thinks it's nothing new, or maybe the weather is too cold, there aren't many people who stop to take pictures. But in fact, this is a landmark building in Sapporo. If you are traveling in Sapporo for a day trip, you should pass this building~
ps: there is a daytime feel during the day, and a night feel at night is worth seeing. ~ Whether you go to the raccoon path or go to the clock tower or visit Datong Park, you can see it!

[Sapporo Tourism] Sapporo's TV Tower has been standing in the city for almost 70 years
Sapporo TV Tower
Odori Nishi 1-chome, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido
9:00-22:00

Open all year round
As it is a tourist spot in Sapporo,
I stopped by on the second day of my Hokkaido tour.
Adults 1,000 yen
Elementary and junior high school students 500 yen
You can climb up to the third floor for free.
Sapporo TV Tower, built in 1957, is a radio tower located in Odori Park at Odori Nishi 1-chome, Chuo-ku, Sapporo.
It is located in the center of Sapporo, and the total construction cost was 170 million yen!
It is 147.2 meters tall.
It was fitted with an electronic clock donated by Panasonic in 1961, and became the clock for the people of the city.
It seems that there used to be a planetarium and a movie theater, and
the planetarium has a dome-shaped ceiling on the third floor, which is a little remnant of that.

Climbing Sapporo's Landmark!
I went up the Sapporo TV Tower!!
As a landmark of Sapporo,
from the observatory, you can see the cityscape and even Otaru.
They say the night view is beautiful,
but we visited during the day because we wanted to see Odori Park, haha!
Although it's small, there is a souvenir shop
and you can also take sticker photos!

Sapporo Soba Restaurant: Soba Dokoro Daiban
Soba Dokoro Daiban ⭐️Main Branch⭐️ is a popular soba restaurant located inside the Sapporo TV Tower. There are two branches, and during lunchtime, it is so popular among office workers that there is always a long wait. The highlight of this place is the generous portions of soba you get for the price. From hot soba to cold soba, there are many varieties to choose from, making it a great place to visit multiple times.

Sapporo Tower in Winter
#thingstodo
Arrived on January 7, 2024, and experienced the exhilaration of heavy snowfall while walking from our hotel. Upon arrival, instead of heading up to the observation deck of the tower, we opted to relish the outdoor scenery. The falling snow created a picturesque scene, adorning bare trees with a dramatic layer of snow.
This location becomes exceptionally beautiful during the peak of winter. It's crucial to stay informed about heavy snowfall in different parts of Japan. With our 21-day JR pass, we had the flexibility to adjust our itinerary based on real-time observations and updates from the Japanese government. Fortuitously, we timed our visit to Hokkaido perfectly during its peak winter season.
Check it out 😊

If you're going to Sapporo for the first time, you should definitely take this route
If it's your first time in Sapporo, this is a must-do! Firstly, look out for great views of the city and climb up to the Sapporo Television Station for a complete 360-degree view of Sapporo city centre.
Next, experience springtime at the Hokkaido Hall's Old Main Hall House, where cherry blossoms are in bloom. The centuries-old building is decorated with gorgeous cherry blossoms in a picturesque manner, making it a wonderful moment not to be missed on your trip to Sapporo.
Switch seasons and experience summer at Hokkaido Hall's Old Main Hall House, where the grass is lush and green on a sunny day, and the exterior of the building shines in the summer sunlight, providing a refreshing and pleasant feeling.
Finally, a stroll through the snowy winter wonderland of Hokkaido Hall's Old Main Hall Building is like travelling back in time. The buildings are covered in snow, presenting another snowy charm that will immerse you in the magical atmosphere of a northern winter.

Sapporo Tv Tower at Sapporo Hokkaido
I went up the tower during winter time . So scattered around the tower were the beautiful lights and Christmas tree from fully decorated Odori Park. Note that it really take around 20 minutes if you start from the end of the park to reach the tower.
I bought a ticket / package for the visit around $7.
Firstly you need to get to the 3rd floor to go observation deck .
It is 60 seconds by elevator and was mentioned 90.38 metres above ground. Can see night lighted Sapporo city unfolds beneath your eyes and Odori Park. I can’t see mount Moiwa or the sea as claimed because did it at night . Recommended to go around Christmas time for Sapporo Snow Festival and lights Illumination.

Sapporo TV Tower in daylight when we passed by it going shopping and at night, with its night lights, as we passed by it returning to our hotel. Another significant TV Tower in Japan, Sapporo TV Tower has a huge digital clock on display. Very helpful use of the tower. Nagoya TV Tower should also do the same. Haha!
