Robatayaki is a traditional Japanese barbecue method. Its unique feature is that it uses charcoal to heat and grill the ingredients directly over an open flame on the stove. This cooking method brings out the rich flavor of smoke and natural charcoal, making every bite of food exude a charred aroma, while the interior retains the freshness and original flavor of the ingredients. 🪵Each table in Shanluyuan is equipped with an independent charcoal stove, and guests need to grill the ingredients themselves. Kawaguchiko's Robatayaki is located in a wooden building with a history of more than 150 years. The carefully decorated environment is full of Japanese characteristics and looks "very expensive". There are 4 packages to choose from (p6), and we chose the first two to try. First, we were served exquisite appetizers, followed by a plate of various fresh ingredients. We watched as they caught the fish from the fish pond at the door, and it was still alive and kicking when it was served. The clerk will teach you how to grill in English. It is similar to BBQ in Hong Kong, but the charcoal fire is not as strong. It was a very interesting experience to chat around the charcoal fire, observe the state of the food, and adjust it yourself with gloves. The beef skewer in the 5500 yen set meal was very delicious!
