#0yentripnovember Sankeien is a Japanese garden, but you might not be disappointed if you go thinking of it as a large park rather than a garden. It's a peaceful park, and it's not too crowded, so you can enjoy a leisurely stroll. It's especially famous for its plum blossoms, so if you go, I recommend going between February and April when the plum blossoms are in bloom. The plum blossoms are really beautiful. You won't be disappointed in that respect. It's a bit of a walk from the station. It's uphill on the way there, so it's tough to get there, but it's downhill on the way back, so I think it's easier to some extent.

I did a day trip to Yokohama from Tokyo and almost skipped this place because I had had a full day and to be honest, this garden is kind of out of the way - about an hour bus ride from the main Yokohama attractions. If you seek a peaceful respite in the middle of a bustling Yokohama, Sankeien will grant you such peace. I came on a Wednesday afternoon around 3.00pm, and I pretty much had the entire park to myself.
