incredibly Beautiful Waterfall !
Sandie Waterfall - Lushan Mountain 🏔️
is a pity we can't swim in these magical natural pools 😔 it reminded me north of Portugal where we have the same (but people allowed to swim ehehee)
Located on the East side of Lushan Mountain, a less touristy and crowded area is perfect for a hike all the way up and enjoying the beautiful views.
Entrance fee in the park is 60rmb and is Worthy cause you'll spend at least half day exploring around ;)

Three Step Waterfall, Lushan Mountain
Three Step Waterfall (in Chinese San die quan三叠泉) also called Three Tiled Springs Waterfall, it is located at the foot of the Five Old Man Peaks and is one of the most famous sight on Mount Lu. With a drop height of 215 meters, the waterfall fall over three natural terraces formed by glaciers to the pool below (from the bus stop need to walk 10min to the cable way station, 1492m long, altitude from 839 to 992m, 10min run, 80cny round way, this takes you to the first layer, then need to hike down for about 1600 steps to the bottom to see the waterfall - it takes 1.5h from the cable way exit to walk down to the waterfall and back)

[Autumn Leisure Trip] Jiujiang, Jiangxi: A Journey of Tranquility and Gastronomy at the Foot of Mount Lu.
[Autumn Leisure Trip] Jiujiang, Jiangxi: A Journey of Tranquility and Gastronomy at the Foot of Mount Lu.
🍁 As autumn approaches and the National Day holiday arrives, I chose Jiujiang, Jiangxi. This peaceful city offered me a unique travel experience.
🚂 In the early morning, a green train slowly pulled into Jiujiang Station, where my exploration began. My hotel was near the train station, offering convenience and comfort.
🏞️ My first stop was Sandiequan Waterfall. In just half a day, I could appreciate the beauty of Mount Lu. On various apps, you can book a "Sandiequan Waterfall + Roundtrip Sightseeing Bus Ticket" to easily reach the East Gate of Mount Lu and take a sightseeing bus directly to the scenic area. Although Sandiequan Waterfall is not high, the scenery is pleasant. You can walk and stop along the way, take photos, and reach the top in just over an hour.
🌆 In the afternoon, I chose a city walk, strolling between Nanhu Park, Li Gong Dike, Yanshuiting Pavilion, Simatou, Xunyang Tower, Suojing Tower, and Bipa Tower. I felt the leisurely lifestyle of the city. The cool breeze brought by the temperature drop during the National Day holiday made the riverside promenade refreshing. I sat on a chair by the river, quietly feeling the wind's caress.
🌇 At sunset, I went to the Yangtze River Bridge, next to the ferry. As I watched the beautiful scenery of Sunset Boulevard, I couldn't help but hum the melody of "Sunset Boulevard".
🏙️ On the second day, I went deep into the residential area to experience the local life of Jiujiang. The bustling atmosphere of the vegetable market made me feel like I was part of the city.
🏛️ In the afternoon, I visited the Jiujiang Museum. It not only has a rich collection of historical exhibits but also special activities for National Day, allowing me to participate and enjoy a full experience.
🍜 For food, I highly recommend Jiangxi rice noodles. The pickled vegetable, sour and spicy pork liver and shredded pork rice noodle soup from GuanTou Rice Noodles is delicious and spicy, with generous portions of pork liver and shredded pork.
Lao An Ming Chi's meat and egg stir-fried rice noodles have a strong wok flavor and moderate spiciness.
Yanjing North's sweet and spicy flavor is unforgettable.
🥞 Although there is a queue, the radish cake from Four Sisters Pancake is average in taste.
The snow-topped small green milk tea from Hongdu Thumb has a warm taste, but the snow top is a bit greasy. The sea salt roll from Shan Shan Bread was a pleasant surprise.
🌆 Jiujiang, this livable city, made me feel the warmth of home. The bus radio broadcast "Jiujiang is my home...", which deepened my affection for this city.

Lushan Travel Guide: A Journey to Wonderland.
Step into the cloud-covered and picturesque Lushan Mountain for a magical journey!🏞️✨
📍First Impression of Lushan
Lushan Mountain, a famous mountain in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, has been a favorite of literati and writers since ancient times. It is famous for its beautiful mountains and rivers, as well as its rich history and culture. It is like a flowing landscape painting, waiting for us to savor it carefully.🖌️🏞️
🕒Best Travel Time
Lushan has four distinct seasons, but the best time to travel is undoubtedly in the summer. From June to September, Lushan is as cool as spring, making it a paradise for summer vacation. At this time, the Sandie Spring waterfall plunges down, and the clouds and mist surround it, as if you have stepped into a wonderland.🌧️🌈
🚗Transportation Guide
To get to Lushan, you can take a train or plane to Jiujiang City, and then transfer to a bus or private car to Lushan Scenic Area.
🏞️Must-See Attractions
Sandie Spring: This is one of the most famous waterfalls in Lushan. It falls in three stages, like silk, and is breathtakingly beautiful. Standing in front of the waterfall, you can feel the coolness of the water droplets, as if all your troubles have gone away.💦✨
Huajing and Ruqin Lake: Stroll along Huajing, with lush trees and colorful flowers on both sides, and the air is filled with a faint fragrance. Ruqin Lake is like a bright mirror, reflecting the surrounding mountains, making people feel refreshed.🌸🏞️
Hanpokou: This is a great place to watch the sunrise. When the first ray of sunlight pierces through the clouds and illuminates the entire valley, the shock and beauty of that moment will surely stay with you forever.🌅🙌
Meilu: As a cultural landscape of Lushan, Meilu not only shows a side of China's modern history, but also has a unique architectural style and garden design. Walking in Meilu, it is as if you have traveled back to that turbulent era.🏡📖
Immortal Cave: Legend has it that the famous Tang Dynasty Taoist Lu Dongbin once practiced immortality here. The stalactites in the cave are of various shapes and mysterious. Standing at the entrance of the cave and looking into the distance, the cloud-covered mountains are faintly visible, like a wonderland.🧚♂️🌄
🍽️Food Experience
Speaking of Lushan's cuisine, Lushan tofu and roast pigeon are a must. Lushan tofu is known for its tenderness and deliciousness, while roast pigeon is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a fragrant aroma. In addition, local specialties such as stewed chicken with mushrooms and crystal shrimp are also worth trying.🍲🍗
💡Tips
Lushan has a large temperature difference, so remember to bring warm clothes.🧥
Comfortable shoes are very important, as the attractions in Lushan often require walking.👟
Bring enough drinking water and snacks in case of need.🥤🍪
Well, that's it for my Lushan travel guide! I hope you enjoy this wonderland-like land and create beautiful memories with me.💖🏞️✨

Encountering Mount Lu, Experiencing the Symphony of Nature and Culture
Mount Lu has inspired countless poems, as if this beautiful mountain is a magnificent painting co-created by nature and literati. From ancient times to the present, numerous poets have been attracted by its majestic peaks, cascading waterfalls, and misty clouds, leaving behind many well-known masterpieces.
- Li Bai's 'Gazing at the Waterfall on Mount Lu': 'Sunlight on the Incense Burner produces purple smoke, from afar the waterfall hangs in front of the river. The torrent plunges three thousand feet straight down, as if the Milky Way fell from the Ninth Heaven.'
- Li Bai's 'Gazing at the Five Old Peaks of Mount Lu': 'The Five Old Peaks of Mount Lu in the southeast, carved out of the blue sky like golden lotuses. The beautiful scenery of Jiujiang can be embraced, I shall nest among the cloud pines here.'
- Su Shi's 'Inscription on the Western Forest Wall': 'Viewed horizontally it becomes a range, viewed sideways a peak, each aspect different from near or far, high or low. One cannot recognize the true face of Mount Lu, only because one is in the midst of this mountain.'
- Bai Juyi's 'Peach Blossoms at Dalin Temple': 'In the human world, April's flowers have all faded, but in the mountain temple, peach blossoms are just beginning to bloom. I always regret that spring departs without a trace, little knowing it has come here.'
- Zhu Yuanzhang's 'Poem of Mount Lu': 'The bamboo shadows of Mount Lu last for thousands of autumns, clouds lock the high peaks while water flows freely. The Yangtze River stretches like a jade belt, a bright moon rolls like a golden ball. The road to the northwest is three thousand realms away, its grandeur suppresses a million states in the southeast. The beautiful scenery cannot be fully appreciated in one visit, fate willing, I shall come again.'
- Xie Lingyun's 'Climbing to the Summit of Mount Lu and Gazing at the Peaks': 'Traveling in the mountains without a fixed time, the farther I go, the harder it is to stop. I wish to linger from dawn to dusk, thus experiencing the full cycle. Suddenly, the gorges open up, and the flat path abruptly ends. The ridges and hills are intertwined, with no trace of paths. Day and night obscure the sun and moon, winter and summer share the frost and snow.'
- Yuan Zhen's 'Alone at Night on Mount Lu': 'In the cold sky, the Five Old Peaks are covered in snow, the slanting moon shines on the clouds of Jiujiang. Where does the bell sound come from? It is heard among the dense trees.'
- Tang Yanqian's 'Climbing Mount Lu': 'From the top of the Five Old Peaks, the horizon is before my eyes. The night rain floats over Xiangtan, the cold mist covers Bashu. The roots of Taihua stand together, the veins of Song and Heng are connected. Leaning into the void, I feel like an immortal, watching the sun and moon pass by.'
- Jiang Wei's 'Waterfall': 'Facing south on Mount Lu, the waterfall has been famous since ancient times. It flows thousands of miles to the blue sea, emerging from the white clouds. Its cold sound travels far, who can divide its sacred stream? Except for Deng Tiantai, no other flow can compare.'
- Sun Fang's 'Gazing at Mount Lu from the Lake': 'Stopping the boat at the southern lake, I return again, smiling and chanting towards the towering peaks. Heaven seems unwilling to let people see it all, always hiding half of it in clouds.'
- Wang Anshi's 'Embroidered Valley': 'Returning home with a smile in the morning, I am happy to be the master of the famous mountain. By chance, I go to the Five Lakes with enthusiasm, inviting spring in the Embroidered Valley.'
- Mao Zedong's 'Seven-Character Quatrain: Climbing Mount Lu': 'A mountain stands tall by the great river, climbing up its lush four hundred turns. With a cold eye, I look at the world, hot winds blow rain over the river and sky. Clouds cross nine streams, floating yellow cranes, waves rise in three Wu regions, creating white smoke. Where has Tao Yuanming gone? Can one farm in the Peach Blossom Spring?'

Lushan Two Days and One Night Weekend Special Forces Guide (Not Tiring Version)
The best not tiring two days and one night tour for working people ✅✅✅
Departure:
🚄 Saturday Hefei High-Speed Rail to Lushan 7:28-08:53
Take a taxi to from Lushan Station. It's the cableway❗️not the North Gate or East Gate👉🏻 Queue up to take the cableway up the mountain👉🏻 Call the hotel for pickup after getting off the cableway
🏨 Accommodation: Vienna International Hotel, the environment is quite good, and it's not far to go anywhere around. Store your belongings at the hotel, have a brunch nearby, and then take the sightseeing bus🚗
Specific itinerary:
Saturday West Line:
Huajing → Mianxiu Valley → Xianren Cave → Datianchi → Power Station Dam → Return (to the main street)
The above itinerary will be completed around 4:30-5:00 PM
🍚 Have dinner at Xiaojie (see my other post for details, absolutely delicious!)
After dinner, go back to the hotel to rest for a while
After resting, go to the Central Park to watch the sunset, stroll around the evening street scene, it's really cool and comfortable! You can visit Lushan Impression for cultural and creative products, and drink Jianshan Tea Milk Tea🧋
Sunday Sunrise → East Line → Down the Mountain:
🌅 Get up at 4 AM to watch the sunrise, go to Beishan Nu'er City (shared car with the driver, 50 yuan per person, depart at 4:30, sunrise at 5:38) The view is great, not inferior to Xiaotianchi and Yangtianping, and there are not many people! (You can also see my other post for details)
❣️ Go back to the breakfast shop at the entrance of Vienna International Hotel to eat Jiangxi meat sauce noodles, it tastes pretty good. After eating, take a nap and check out at 9:45.
🧳 Take your luggage directly to the main street and queue up to take the sightseeing bus to San Diequan. (Due to limited time, only one spot can be visited on the East Line, and there are many people on weekends, so the queue is long) This way, the entire journey is downhill, no need to return, exit from the East Gate
⚠️❗️ When you arrive at San Diequan, do not buy the cableway and small train tickets sold at the entrance, it's tiring and you have to wait, it's better to walk that section. Walk all the way down, at first it's a slow descent, there are some places where you can trace the stream, the water is relatively clear.
When you reach the 1300 steps, it's all the way down. Protect your knees! And look at the people panting on the way up!
Finally, you reach the waterfall, you can take photos, play with water on the rocks beside, it's very cool!!
Around 1 PM, we went straight down the mountain, walked to the East Gate. This section is also downhill, but much gentler, and the scenery is good. It takes about an hour to get down the mountain. 10 yuan for the sightseeing bus to the East Gate.
Return home:
🚘 Take a taxi to the high-speed rail station (one hour)
Have dinner at Lushan Station (there's not much to eat at Lushan Station, only had instant noodles)
🚄 16:49-19:26 back to Hefei
The above is a personally tested not too tiring weekend itinerary suitable for working people (actually still quite tiring), but not too much like special forces, all the major attractions were visited!!!

The waterfall cascades down three thousand feet
Mount Lu is beautiful, beautiful in every aspect. Have you ever seen the waterfall clouds of Mount Lu in the scorching summer? This is the legendary 'like fog, like rain, and like wind' waterfall clouds of Mount Lu! So magnificent!
Mountains connect to mountains, clouds connect to clouds, one after another, like cotton candy. It's truly spectacular!
Masses of waterfall clouds pour down from the mountain top to the foot of the mountain, and then the cloud waves traverse the peaks and valleys, layer upon layer, indescribably wonderful. Occasionally, the gaps in the clouds reveal the blue sky, green fields, and the city of Guling, like a poetic and picturesque world.
At the Three-Step Spring, 'Among the waterfalls of Mount Lu, the Three-Step Spring is the best.' 'If you haven't been to the Three-Step Spring, you haven't truly visited Mount Lu.' The number one wonder of Mount Lu—the Three-Step Spring, the most magnificent and beautiful karst landscape in the world.

Jiangxi Three-Day Two-Night Tour, Average Cost Per Person: 1000 Yuan Strategy!!
📍Jiangxi⛰️ Three-Day Two-Night Tour, Average Cost Per Person: 1000 Yuan💰 Strategy!!
Day 1: We arrived in Jiujiang in the morning and chose a hotel near Jiujiang Station. After dropping off our luggage, we took a bus to Simatou Food Street. Unfortunately, the Si Jie Mei Pancake and Xu Popo were not open, so we randomly picked a Nanchang specialty fried rice noodle place. The owner recommended their signature fried noodles, which were really good.
In the afternoon, we changed clothes and went to climb Lushan Mountain. We bought tickets just for the Sandiequan waterfall. We took a sightseeing bus from the northeast of Lushan Mountain to go up and down the mountain, which took us about four hours in total. There weren't many people, and I have to say, the waterfall was really spectacular, especially since it had rained a few days before, making it particularly large.
In the evening, we strolled along the river near Xunyang Tower. The evening breeze was really comfortable.
Day 2: We arrived at Jingdezhen North Station around 10 am and took the No. 3 bus line directly to Jingdezhen Museum (you need to make a reservation in advance when it's crowded). We had reserved from 1 to 2 pm. There weren't many people at the entrance, but once inside, we were shocked. The speechless Buddha on the sixth floor had a queue so long, I felt it would take more than an hour to wait. We walked around and left (it's better to go during the off-season when there are fewer people).
Right after, we went to the Sculpture Porcelain Factory (no one can leave empty-handed).
We first went to eat Fan's Beef Bone Noodles (those who can't eat spicy food must say so in advance; the level of spiciness that Jiangxi people can handle is not something ordinary people can accept). It feels like Jiangxi is full of various kinds of noodles, all delicious, including fried dough sticks wrapped in glutinous rice (which I personally really like).
Our last stop was Sanbao Village (if time allows, you can rent an electric bike to tour the entire village). We were short on time, so we rode a shared bike at the entrance and spent a little over an hour without going too far. Overall, it was pretty good.
Day 3: We stayed in a hotel near Wuyuan Station (I must say, their hotel decorations are all very retro, which I really like). We just went to one scenic spot because during the May Day holiday, the Wuling scenic area was especially crowded, so we chose Likeng scenic area (we took a taxi from Wuyuan Station). It was really beautiful, Likeng was not too crowded, and the scenery was super beautiful. I really love natural scenery. If I had enough time, I would really want to stay here for two or three days. Just taking random photos is particularly photogenic. There are many shops selling special products and many small farmhouses (after all, inside the scenic area, you know the prices). I sincerely recommend visiting Wuyuan at least once.

Two Days and Two Nights in Lushan
Planning to visit Lushan? Make sure to keep this guide handy! The Lushan Scenic Area is vast, and without a well-planned itinerary, you might miss out on many breathtaking views.
🚗Transportation
Departing from Shanghai Hongqiao at 12:50, you can arrive at Lushan Railway Station by 17:51. For the return trip, depart from Lushan Railway Station at 18:30 and you'll be back in Shanghai by 23:00.
After arriving at Lushan, you can take a bus for 10 yuan to the foot of the mountain. At the scenic area ticket office, tickets cost 160 yuan, the round-trip cable car is 120 yuan, and the sightseeing bus is 70 yuan. Then you can take the cable car up the mountain.
Once on the mountain, first, drop off your luggage and enjoy a delicious dinner. In the evening, you can stroll around the bustling night market on Guling Street, which has a permanent population of over 20,000, full of life. Or you can watch the classic movie "Romance on Lushan Mountain" at the Lushan Cinema, which only screens this movie. It was the first movie in New China to feature a kissing scene, albeit just a cheek kiss, but it caused quite a stir at the time.
🗺️Itinerary
The Lushan Scenic Area has three tour routes: the West Line, the East Line, and the Central Line.
Day 1: Let's explore the East Line first while we still have plenty of energy!
Hanpokou ➡️ Botanical Garden ➡️ Five Old Men Peak ➡️ Sandie Spring
Hanpokou is a great place to watch the sunrise, but remember to buy tickets at the sightseeing bus ticket office the day before or ask the friendly hotel owner to book a car for you. The climb to Five Old Men Peak is moderately difficult, earning 4 stars. If you're lucky, you might see a dreamy sea of clouds, and there's also the 1314-meter altitude monument, a must-visit for couples.
A special reminder: after visiting Five Old Men Peak, don't return the same way. Take a shortcut towards Sandie Spring Station, so you don't have to take the sightseeing bus again. They say "If you haven't been to Sandie Spring, you haven't been to Lushan." It's the core attraction of the Lushan Scenic Area.
Day 2: Explore the West Line, which is relatively flat.
Huajing ➡️ Bai Juyi's Cottage ➡️ Immortal's Cave ➡️ Great Heavenly Pool ➡️ Dragon Head Cliff ➡️ Suspension Bridge ➡️ Power Station Dam
Take the sightseeing bus to tour the West Line, which can be done in half a day. If time permits, you can also visit cultural sites like museums and historical sites.
A few tips: There's a path from the Suspension Bridge to Shimen Stream, but note that this attraction is outside the Lushan Scenic Area and requires an additional fee. Personally, I find the West Line attractions to be average, but it's nice to stroll in the forest oxygen bar, breathe fresh air, and give your lungs a deep cleanse.
Also, Li Bai's famous poem "The waterfall plunges three thousand feet" refers to a waterfall in Xiufeng Park, which is not on our itinerary this time!
I think Lushan is particularly suitable for a short family vacation. With sightseeing buses between attractions, you don't have to walk much, saving your energy to fully appreciate the scenic beauty. Moreover, the infrastructure in Guling Town is excellent, fully meeting daily needs.
🏨Accommodation
Staying on Guling Street is a great choice, with both hotels and guesthouses available. The owner of the guesthouse I stayed at was super nice, not only carefully drawing our tour route but also upgrading our room for free. So considerate!
🍜Food
Stone ear and stone fish, Lushan stone chicken, clay pot soup, stone fish with eggs, and chestnut powder snacks are all recommended to try.

A One-Day Tour of Lushan's Threefold Waterfall | Avoid Pitfalls and Save Money
You haven't truly visited Lushan if you haven't seen the Threefold Waterfall. For a one-day round trip on a holiday, I chose the route that only views the waterfall.
First, navigate to the East Gate of Lushan, then take a sightseeing bus to the entrance of the Threefold Waterfall hiking trail, which has about 3000 steps, to reach the end of the Threefold Waterfall 🏁. Then return the same way! If time allows, you can choose to go to Xiufeng in the afternoon to see another waterfall.
For those interested, here's a reference 👇🏻
Transportation options:
🚄 High-speed train: From any starting point -- arrive at Jiujiang Station, then take a taxi.
🚗 Self-driving: Navigate to 'East Gate of Lushan' where there are parking lots or roadside parking available.
🎫 About tickets:
1️⃣ You only need to buy a separate ticket for the Threefold Waterfall, which costs 35 yuan
⚠️ Note here: ① You must purchase the ticket at least one hour in advance to use it! ② You must exchange the ticket for a paper ticket at the East Gate Visitor Center, which is actually a receipt, and you need to check the ticket at the entrance.
2️⃣ From the East Gate of the scenic area to the entrance of the Threefold Waterfall hiking trail, you need to take a sightseeing bus. The queue is fast, and the round-trip price is 20 yuan, the distance is about 3 kilometers, and it takes 5 minutes to reach by bus, or about half an hour on foot. It is recommended to save energy and take the bus
⚠️ Note here: ① Sightseeing bus tickets can be purchased at the Visitor Center or in the small house at the boarding point, ② After buying the sightseeing bus ticket, you will also get a receipt, which must be exchanged for a paper transportation card at the small house at the boarding point before you can board the bus! Remember!
🧊 About supplies:
Buy some water for 2 yuan at the foot and halfway up the mountain, it's worth it. The mineral water at the waterfall costs 10 yuan per bottle, and the tricolor cup ice cream is sold for 25 yuan!
⌛️ About ramblings:
Try to start as early as possible. There are a lot of people if you start at noon, and many people also descend the mountain. Since the route can only be returned the same way, there are a few sections that will always be blocked, especially at one stone gate, where a 100-meter road was blocked for 40 minutes. Try to start early to avoid the crowd, and after descending the mountain, you can still make a trip to Xiufeng!
💰 About expenses:
Overall, going to the East Gate to see the Threefold Waterfall is quite cost-effective: 35 yuan for the ticket + 20 yuan for the round-trip sightseeing bus = 55 yuan. You can play for a whole day or just a morning. Highly recommended for those who only have a one-day itinerary!
🎒 About equipment:
I highly recommend wearing a bright-colored jacket for good-looking photos. The bag I brought this time can hold a lot, is super lightweight, and saved me a lot of effort. I didn't have to worry about getting my camera wet while taking photos under the waterfall.
⛰️ Fortunately, the scenery along the way is beautiful this season, and the Threefold Waterfall is super beautiful! Li Bai did not deceive you all. However, it's very cold when taking photos under the waterfall! Don't catch a cold! Pay attention to safety!

The waterfall drops three thousand feet straight down, as if the Milky Way is falling from the sky
San Die Quan San Die Quan is truly a natural air conditioner! Standing underneath is so cool! It's very impressive and the photos look great too!
🧳Pre-trip preparation: Bring a windbreaker, trekking poles, hiking boots🥾, and it's best to bring a self-heating rice meal, as the instant noodles on the mountain cost 15 yuan a box.
📝Note tips: Go directly to San Die Quan from the east gate, then take the sightseeing bus, which costs 10 yuan per person and takes you directly to the steps. Then it only takes an hour and a half to reach San Die Quan; it takes 30 minutes to go down the mountain! (This includes time for walking, stopping, and taking photos)
👍Most recommended:
Check the weather, it's best to come after a rainy day, when the waterfall has a large flow, and from a distance, you can see what Li Bai wrote: 'as if the Milky Way is falling from the sky!'
