This youthful neighbourhood is named after the clean and beautiful water, mountains, and residents in the area. Highly recommended to take a stroll in Samcheondong admiring the scenery and the cafes along the road. Tosokchon Samgyetang is the restaurant that all tourists will visit in Samcheong-dong to eat the super famous Ginseng Chicken. Direction: From Exit #5 of Gyeongbokgung Palace Station (Seoul Subway Line # 3), walk 10-15 min along the stone wall of Gyeongbokgung Palace to the starting point of Samcheong-dong Walkway. ❗️What's the point of talking about the exterior of a traditional Korean house? 😄 During my recent photography trip to Samcheong-dong, the 'Deus Cafe Samcheong' was the most impressive place I visited. It perfectly captured the ambiance of Samcheong-dong, where the past and present coexist. The interior design preserved the authentic Korean traditional house's historical traces, which left me in awe of its tranquility and beauty. To my surprise, the Australian brand 'Deus' has set up its modern sports motorcycle shop inside the Korean traditional house, which was a unique twist. In the modern era where new constructions and reconstructions are replacing old buildings, it's rare to find a place that preserves the traditional Korean house while providing a modern sense of aesthetic. 'Deus Cafe Samcheong' has been such a place that made my photography trip even more memorable.

Along this step is the Joconde Coffee Shop, a traditional Korean house remodeled store that, although small in size, is a place to relax. From the second floor of the coffee shop, you can see the street scene of Sanqingdong. When you are tired in Sanqingdong, you can rest here. The layout is very warm, and the light in the room is particularly soft in the afternoon, which is very suitable for taking pictures.

It is along the same street as Mukshidonna Samcheongdong and you can spot them easily with their life size Buzz Lightyear figurine. This is a great place as there is also a Toy Story land inside Disneyland Tokyo. You can also find the easliest version of Toy Story and how it evolve to hot Toy Story is now. Located near the east gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace, Samcheong-dong is known as the "Nanluoguxiang of Korea". As for the origin of the name Samcheong-dong, some say it is because the mountains and waters here are clear, and the people are simple and honest, so it is called Samcheong. There is also a theory that it comes from the Three Clear Halls, which enshrine the Taoist deities Taiqing, Shangqing, and Yuqing.

Samcheong-dong is located near Gwanghwamun and still retains traditional Korean houses called "hanok". In recent years, cafes, restaurants, and trendy shops have begun to appear in various alleys, attracting tourists from all over. Samcheong-ro, which faces Gyeongbokgung Palace across the street, is also called "Gallery Street", where many famous Korean art galleries such as Modern Gallery, Kukje Gallery, and Hakgojae Gallery are gathered. Route: Exit from Gate 5 and pass through Guanghua Gate. Walk along the wall of Gyeongbokgung Palace and you will see the starting point of Samcheongdong Road, which is marked. It takes 10-15 minutes to walk from the subway exit to the starting point of Samcheongdong Road. Before making a travel plan, many suggestions were to depart at 8AM and first visit Gyeongbokgung Palace and Gwanghwamun Gate, then walk along the city wall to Samcheongdong, then go up the small hill to Bukchon Hanok Village, and finally visit Insadong, which can be completed in one day. If you want a more leisurely pace, you only need to visit Gyeongbokgung Palace, Samcheongdong, and Bukchon Hanok Village, but we only visited the latter two. Recommend that you visit Hanok Village together. There is a slope that leads from Sanqingdong to the small road of Hanok Village in Beicun. It's hard to describe, but you can find local "Little Red Riding Hood" volunteers who will give you a map and tell you how to get there, so we easily entered Hanok Village through a "shortcut". And Bukchon Eight Scenic Spots is in Seoul in 2008. The eight scenic spots that best represent the characteristics of Beonchon Hanok Village, as selected by the city, are quite scattered when visited in person, so there's no need to find every single one. In addition to the charm of the Hanok buildings themselves, Beonchon Hanok Village now emphasizes the artistic atmosphere brought by the gathering of workshops and the daily life of the surrounding residents. It is said online that it takes about 2-2.5 hours to visit all 8 scenic spots, but we spent about 2 hours wandering around. Additionally, I recommend a certain restaurant in Sanqingdong for breakfast and lunch. Before entering this store, take a look inside. There were already two tables of locals eating. The exterior of the store looks like a small Western-style building, and the interior is very clean and bright. Afterwards, a group of elementary school students and police officers came here to eat. It feels like this store should be popular among locals. One set meal includes a main dish of rice/noodles, a side dish, and salad, for about 40 yuan per serving. There is hot tea, ice water, and pickled vegetables in the store. We ordered a total of 3 set meals for 22,000 Korean won (about 135 RMB), which is very cost-effective. Not a promotion, and I don't know the name of this store, but this is where we ate in Seoul. One of the two restaurants that serve authentic food without tourist crowds, so I recommend it.

Speaking of Seoul's cuisine, everyone's first reaction is stone pot bibimbap. This is a popular food for the traditional Korean food culture in winter. But don't think that Seoul has only bibimbap. In the morning, I will eat one of the most popular sandwiches for university students in Hongdae. I will pick up a local barbecue at the home-cooked restaurant with the most family at noon. I will order a plate of raw beef to satisfy the carnivorous stomach. I will find one of the most literary shops in the afternoon. The quiet and elegant Sanqing Cave is located in the center of Seoul, not far from the Presidential Palace, Blue House. In the past, it was just a place for civil servants to dine in the afternoon. Now it has changed and become a favorite food area for Seoul people. Departing from the northern end of Insadong, heading north, and entering the Sanqingdong neighborhood by the library, it is a beautiful walking route. Although Sanqingdong is also in the center of the city, it has a quietness hidden in the city, which is in stark contrast with the Gwanghwamun. From the Joseon period to the present, the tranquility of Sanqingdong seems to have never changed. Even public facilities such as bathhouses and banks still retain the appearance of the 1970s and 1980s.
