Visited area for the holiday market and lights display. It is well organized and clear night but this time of year it does get cold so bundle up. It's a great area to see the holiday lights and try out different food stalls. But even on a weekday there were a lot of people. Opens 6 December, there is a Christmas event around the plaza. This is Sakuragicho Station (formerly Yokohama Station), which was the opening station (the place of origin) when the railway opened in 1872. #2024wish Charming Christmas market going on in December. Crowds are relatively controlled compared to the Tokyo Christmas Market, and the red brick warehouse plus coast gives it a nice backdrop. Although still very crowded, the paved areas are easy to walk around compared to the muddy mess at the Tokyo Xmas market. Food and drinks are quite expensive, but that is typical with these festive events, the main draw is the festive spirit and mood. There is also an ice skating rink set up outdoors, it was delightful watching the ice skaters having a great time. I wish to go back here in 2024

It's a tourist destination where there aren't many Koreans, and during the day, you can take a cruise on the river view and see the Christmas market. There were a lot of things to see, such as various foods and miscellaneous goods. At night, you can ride the Ferris wheel and enjoy the night view. The city center of Tokyo is nice, but it would be really nice to stay a day in Yokohama, where there are many things to see and do. I want to go again 🥹🥹 @sejin.kr @yh_j819

The moment you step out of the station, the ambiance feels different from other cities. It feels very welcoming as a cheerful, entertaining, adventurous and yet relaxing atmosphere greets you. This was my impression the moment I exited the Sakuragicho station and opened my eyes to the beauty of Yokohama City. Just a few-minutes walk around the station, my camera’s shutter continuously clicks as the structures around captivated me with fanciful delight! It's within walking distance of Sakuragicho Station. It's located on quite a high hill. You can go up from directly below, and it seems that an elevator will be available around 2025. You can also enter the grounds from nearby Iseyama Kotaijingu Shrine. Since it's on high ground, the view from the top is amazing! #timetotravel While searching for some good Teppanyaki restaurant in Yokohama but to keep the budget within, we came across this nice cozy little restaurant called Bonno. It is located 5 minutes walk away from Sakuragicho station, behind a small alleyway but easily spotted. The moment we entered we were thrilled by the nice interior decoration and the lovely smile by the chef and his assistant. Then it's time for the taste. We were so pampered with the excellent taste of the course meal especially the grilled A5 Awa beef from Tokushima. Grilled to perfection and melts in the mouth, we really feel worth paying the price for such high quality meal. Course meal is 10000 yen with 2.5 hours of free flow alcoholic beverages which is definitely a bargain considering the food and service received. Will definitely come again and it's the best place for celebration of dates.

One of the most beautiful places for dating in Japan is, arguably, the Yokohama Bayside area, with the Yokohama Marine Tower one of the highlight spots. Built in 1961 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Yokohama port’s opening. Over 25 million people have since visited it and it stands as one of Yokohama’s most recognizable symbols. It’s worth getting there on time with that day’s sunset, arriving at the tower 15 minutes before sunset begins. Buy your tickets on the 1st floor then take the 2nd floor elevator to the top. As you head to the top, you’ll discover a beautiful view of Yokohama Bay. You can also see the Hikawa-maru Ocean Liner and the Yokohama Bay Bridge. The nearest station is Motomachi-Chukagai (Minato Mirai line). As you head out of Exit 4 and head towards Yamashita Park, you should see the tower on the left.

I took the ropeway that runs between Sakuragicho Station and Canal Park in the Shinko area. It was cloudy, but I was told that the view of the sea and sky would be even better if it was sunny.
