I just went to Hengchun University
There is a low-speed highway in Hengchun, which only people who love mountains will pay attention to. If you enjoy it slowly, it is called the "Hengchun Grand Trail". If you run like me, it is a highway~ The Hengchun Grand Trail is a very exciting and challenging mountaineering experience. It fully displays the natural landscape and diverse terrain features of the Hengchun Peninsula, covering mountains and seas, with wind and sun. This vertical hiking route covers the mountains and coastlines of Kenting, Hengchun and other places. It is well worth a try for friends who like mountaineering or climbers who want to challenge themselves. Last night I stayed at the Fullon Hotel Kenting and began to enjoy the slow life in Kenting. I haven’t been to Kenting for several years. I still remember that the last time I visited Kenting seven or eight years ago, the high prices and crowds made me afraid to go there. But this time, Kenting was a little more deserted. It may be that the notorious prices have made Taiwanese people lose confidence in domestic travel, and everyone has gone to neighboring island countries for vacation. Back then, the cost of three days and two nights in an island country was the same as the cost of Kenting at that time. Now Kenting has returned to normal prices, but it still can't recover its crowds. This is the tears of the times and a lesson that businesses should remember.
Today is a weekday in March. I had a leisurely breakfast in the hotel in the morning. I was the only one in the whole Buffe restaurant. I sipped my black coffee slowly with wafer biscuits and cheese slices, looking out the window at the Sail Rock standing on the beach... Wow~ What a nice weather today! Where should I go for a walk? After breakfast, I went to the hotel to enjoy the SPA facilities, which were also reserved for one person. While soaking in the hot pool SPA, I was looking for inspiration on my phone. Suddenly, I found that the "Hengchun Longitudinal Walk" is a route that connects the Dashanmu Mountain and other mountains that I climbed yesterday. It is like a string of pearls, so precious and eye-catching. So, I, who was still enjoying the hot water, hurriedly got up, changed my clothes, put on my sportswear, and drove to Hengchun! I bought some local Xiao Du steamed buns as my rations, two bottles of sports drinks, parked my car nearby, and started running from Hengchun at 12:56 pm... I ran along the asphalt road all the way... After I reached the Zhennan Temple trail entrance, I bid farewell to the afternoon sun and entered the mountains. The forest here is very dense, and the banyan trees are very big. Their whiskers are rooted in the soil and become trees one by one, firm and upright. It seems like these trees are telling us that no matter what we do, we must take root downwards and grow upwards. I continued to run and walk, and in just over half an hour I had reached the first mountain, "Chiniu Ridge". Chiniu Ridge is 283 meters high and is one of the eight famous scenic spots in Hengchun. It is a small hill formed by the raised coral reef limestone. The coral reef in the sea has become a mountain, which made me fall in love with Taiwan again. Taiwan is really beautiful.
I started running again and headed for the "Mother Mountain" that I visited yesterday. The wind was very cool today and it was really comfortable to run. An hour later I arrived at Dashanmu Mountain. It was already 2:30 in the afternoon. I calculated the return time based on the offline map and decided to go to Xiaojianshi Mountain and then log out from the Reclamation Management Office to avoid going down the mountain in the dark. At 16:57, I was already at the bus stop of the Reclamation Bureau. It took me 4 hours to walk 14 kilometers, which took others 7 hours. I took the 17:10 bus back to Hengchun Town and picked up the car in just 15 minutes. I was not tired because the nature along the way helped me, who loves mountains and water, to recharge.
This hiking route is a very fulfilling challenge for me. Although the journey is long and I am physically and mentally exhausted while running and walking, every time I walk over one hill after another or cross a large lawn, I feel a sense of accomplishment in my heart. This experience has given me a deeper understanding of nature and has also deepened my awareness of my own endurance and perseverance. This is the day when I fell in love with Hengchun all over again from the bottom of my heart.
