Built in the Zhenyuan Period of the Tang Dynasty, Roushen Temple was destroyed and rebuilt multiple times. It is the essence of Jiuhua Mountain and a must-go destination for anyone visiting the mountain. Jin Qiaojue (Ksitigarbha) was buried here. According to Buddhist doctrine, Jin Qiaojue was buried in a jar after his death. Three years later, the monks built the tower around the jar and built the temple on the tower column. Hence, Roushen Temple "has a tower in the temple, a jar in the tower and a body in the jar."
