Hundred Guardians of the Temple of Ganesha, Chiang Mai🌙
🤲🏻 Roi Thawara Ban Thewalai, Tamnak Thep Thai Painting Gallery, Tambon Su Thep, Mueang Chiang Mai District 🤲🏻🌾
🌷 Roi Thawara Ban Thewalai is the place where the three-headed Ganesha statue, the blessing posture, is enshrined, carved from a whole golden teak tree, weighing up to 5 tons and 6 meters high, making it the largest in Thailand.
🌷 When you go to pay homage to Ganesha in Ban Thewalai, the first feeling when you step in is that you feel peaceful, cool, and very awe-inspiring. This may be because the surrounding atmosphere is covered with large trees, a large Ganesha statue, and the unique mural paintings, making you feel that there is positive energy in the house that we cannot see.
🌷 Ganesha offerings There are 2 types of Baan Thewalai offerings:
🎍 The large set includes honey, milk, plain water, and incense. This set costs 250 baht.
🎍 The small set includes coconut, banana, milk, plain water, and incense. This set costs 100 baht.
When we have finished making offerings and worshiping Ganesha, the family will collect the offerings for us to take home to eat for good luck.
🌷 For those who come to worship Ganesha here, don't be afraid that you won't be able to do it or do it wrong. Baan Thewalai will have staff to provide services, tell you how to worship, and tell you about the history of Baan Thewalai.
🌷 The first thing to do when we have made offerings is to do the following:
1. Place the offerings at the base of the large Ganesha statue to pray and ask for blessings from him. You can pray for as many blessings as you want, but you have to be specific and think about what you are asking for.
2. When you have finished praying and asking for blessings, go and ring the bell as many times as you want. For good luck in life
3. Hang the necklace on the mouse, a follower of Ganesha, and whisper your request again. When whispering, cover one ear of the mouse and whisper to him to help him communicate with him.
4. Walk up to the feet of Ganesha and worship 2 mice (the family has prepared them for 100 baht per set). Take the mouse to offer and recite the prayer and request to him again.
5. After you finish praying, place 1 mouse with Ganesha and take the other one home because when you have problems or any worries, you can whisper to the mouse at your house to communicate with him at the temple.
6. Walk to the big house and open the door to welcome good things into your life.
7. Walk up the stairs and pray in front of Ganesha again to receive energy. Here, you will be able to see Ganesha's face and eyes clearly. The family believes that this is the best place to receive energy.
8. Hang the necklace and whisper to the mouse above the house again. Then, ring the bell. The worship ceremony is over.
🌷 After the worship, we can pray to Guan Yin or Ganesha next door. Or if you want to sit and relax and drink cold water at the bottom of the temple before going home, you can do that too.
🌷 Before going home, the staff will put the offerings we made to Ganesha in a bag for us to take home. We will not bring old offerings back.
🌷 Roi Thawarabarn, Baan Thewalai, has parking available.
✳️But the entrance road to the house is very narrow. For those who drive, we recommend parking in front of the alley and walking in just 150 meters. But for those who are good at driving, you can drive in and park in front of the house.✳️
🌷 Opening and closing times of the house 🕛
It opens from 08.30 - 18.00 every day, no holidays. ✳️But we recommend going on weekdays.
🌷 Roi Thawarabarn, Baan Thewalai, is located behind Chiang Mai University, Suthep Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. The entrance is next to the road up. Angka Restaurant or Angka Royal Project
