Quandary Peak is the highest summit of the Tenmile Range in the Rocky Mountains of North America and is the most commonly climbed fourteener in Colorado. It has nearly the same elevation as Castle Peak and Mount Evans. This hike can be quite treacherous as it took me a total of 6-7 hours return. You will climb approx 3,450 feet with a total distance of approx 11km. This also includes the very thin air which causes you to go abit light headed at times. But with slow and consistent speed you will be able to make it up there. Make sure you bring food and water with you as this hike is really long and tiring. You would also want to take a good break at the top of the mountain to absorb the amazing views that you work so hard for. This is a very well trekked hike, so you do not need to worry, many people come here to hike even on weekdays. This is a relatively easy hike with an increase of elevation at the top of the mountain, this isn't wheel chair friendly as you will need to climb rocks on the way up. Flew into Denver on ##FrontierAirlines with their “All You Can Fly” pass, which honestly is an awesome deal. After the initial investment of $300 to fly anywhere they do for a period of five months, and each flight only pay the taxes which is about $15 got to the airport and the ##Hertz attendant was super helpful, suggested we go with the mystery car rental and gave us a Jeep Gladiator :) We were able to rent all of our camping equipment at a nearby outfitter, which was affordable, and the equipment was quality. Drove to ##RockyMountainNationalPark and spent several days in the mountains, which was an amazing experience. The elk were definitely out and about an active while we were there, which was really cool to see. They’re huge, the scenery is majestic and amazing and I would highly recommend anybody getting a chance to go and spend some time at Rocky Mountain national Park to do so. The ecosystems that you’ll see at different elevations are really interesting to be able to see. After a drive to the top you’ll be in the tundra after driving through Evergreen, force and scenic backdrops for miles. Temperature changed about 20° from a short drive at at the top to our campsite which was crazy. The park rangers were very helpful and nice, campsites well taken care of, and good vibes amongst everybody there. Last day we spent some time in a serene little town called ##GrandLake at the foothills of the Rockies right outside the national Park. A scenic, sleepy little town with character and charm. Definitely make a stop through. If you get a chance between the flight, the rentals, and our stay in the national park, were able to do an amazing trip, but also on the cheap, which was definitely a bonus. Can’t wait to go back and scratch some othernational parks off my list as well. Highly recommended advance reservations as spots do fill up quickly in the park. Campsites have clean bathrooms, and are all very well-maintained. If you’re in the ##Denver area, definitely something you should consider checking out. Definitely won’t regret it. #familyfun

#cherryblossom2024 📍Denver city has plenty of things to do, but if you want to take a rest from the city vibe and spot some nature, go to the mountains. 🏔️ 🚙 You can just drive through the mountains and see the amazing views 🗻 ▪️But remember making some nice stops: 🔺one of them is at the red rocks, a rock formation with the greatest acoustics, where many rock stars have played. 🦬 Another nice stop is at the bison’s park, where you can get quite close to them. 🚗 For the afternoon/evening head to Fort Colins, about 1h30min from Denver.
