River Kwai Jungle Rafts Enjoy the nature in front of you.
A review of a great nature experience without electricity, Switch Off Social, and full of happiness with nature right in front of you at River Kwai Jungle Rafts Floating Hotel, Kanchanaburi.
The accommodation is in the middle of the river, surrounded by mountains, completely cut off from the social world. The rooms have no electricity or internet, allowing you to find happiness only from nature. Spending 3 days and 2 nights here made us realize that being with nature without social media can also bring happiness. We talked more and spent more time together with various activities provided by the resort.
The rooms here are simple with only a bed, mosquito net, bathroom, balcony, and a lamp for light at night. From the luxurious lifestyle to having nothing, we had to adjust ourselves on the first day. The resort is especially free from mobile phones, which cannot receive any signals here.
Although the weather during the day when we stayed was not as cool as we expected, there was no swimming pool to cool off, only the flowing river Kwai right in front of us. We couldn't resist putting down our mobile phones and grabbing our swimsuits to play in the water. It was an activity that foreign tourists and Thais alike enjoyed to cool off. The more we played, the more we laughed. It was strange that we forgot our phones in the room so easily. Additionally, the resort also provides kayaks and paddleboards for rent.
We recommend enjoying the morning sunlight, good weather, and clearer river water than at other times. Try bamboo rafting to enjoy the view and chill out, or take a walk to visit the Mon village and take some photos. In the evening, we could buy tickets to watch the Mon dance at the theater on the raft. It is a traditional dance of the Mon people, which is hard to find. One of the performers was a staff member we met in the morning.
For those who like massages, there is a Mon massage spa here. It is a Thai-style acupressure massage with a cool breeze and the sound of flowing water. You can fall asleep easily.
As for the food, the dining room is next to the lobby. The breakfast is simple, such as fried rice, boiled rice, stir-fried noodles, and ABF with bread, jam, and fruits. The service is provided by Mon staff who speak clear Thai and some English. The service is excellent and attentive.
