Walking to the tracks on the Bridge on the River Kwai, I can feel the heavy history it carries. Standing on the bridge, overlooking the rushing river, I can't help but feel a lot of emotions in my heart🌊. I walked on the bridge and imagined the workers who struggled to survive. I was in awe of the sad stories they left on this land🙏. There are also some monuments and museums nearby, which introduce the history and construction process of the "Death Railway" in detail, which gave me a deeper understanding of this history📚. Shortly after crossing the bridge, I saw a sign in Chinese directing me to go downstairs to find the local vendors selling Burmese goods. The atmosphere here is different from what is described in the movie. There are many shops around and there are many floating restaurants on the river bank. The environment is elegant🍽️. Sitting in the floating restaurant, I tasted authentic Thai food, paired with slightly bitter Bangkok beer, which made me feel happy🍻.

We booked the giraffe photo session for 15:00. We arrived early, so we took the park tour bus first. Before boarding, you can buy carrots, 100 THB for two baskets. When the bus reaches the animal area, it will stop, and you can open the windows to feed the animals. Along the way, there are antelope, tigers, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and camels. No reservation was needed. The exterior is barn-style, and the interior is spacious with many seats. There are many green plants and large floor-to-ceiling windows, giving a forest-like feel. The bridge over river Kwai is doable on a day trip from.Bangkok and we actually rented a car from Bangkok. This was our 2ns last stop after visited Maeklong railway market and Damnoen Saduak market in the Morning. We don't stay long at the floating market as we been here bedore 18 years ago. we knew the taxi scam especially tjose getting cheap taxi from Bangkok but ended in one of the floating market pier and forced to pay ridicolous price for a long tail boat to the market #riverkwaibridge #thaiand #kanchanaburi

It is a great experience to walk on the river kwai bridge and learn about the history. Many prisoners of the Japanese army died when working on the Death railway and this Bridge. The Japanese army was trying to gain control over British controlled burma. Thats why they wanted to build a railroad all the way from Japan to Burma which is called Myanmar. Between dodging wandering tourists, a persistent and a chicken (yes, a chicken), I realized my "private" shoot was more of a public spectacle. Still, the bridge delivered. Its dramatic steel arches and the glistening river below made for some epic shots-when I wasn't awkwardly pausing mid-pose to let someone pass. At one point, I attempted a casual walking-on-the-tracks shot, only to realize halfway through that the train horn in the distance wasn't just ambiance. Despite the chaos, the bridge was perfect in all its rugged charm. The real masterpiece? The candid photo a stranger snapped of me dramatically leaping out of the way of a food cart. I actually wanted to visit Kanchanaburi as early as last year, but at that time I went to Ayutthaya and Sukhothai, then went north to Chiang Mai for the Lantern Festival, so I temporarily gave up on Kanchanaburi. So after staying in Bangkok for a few days this time, I went to Kanchanaburi. . To be honest, Kanchanaburi left a pretty good impression on me. The entire city is a narrow and long shape, and the bus station is a bit far from the Bridge on the River Kwai. I temporarily stayed at a youth hostel near the bus station. When I first wandered around, I thought this city was a bit old, but after settling down and walking from the bus station to the River Kwai, I found it quite surprising. . 🌈I suggest walking along the old street of Kanchanaburi (📍Historic Pak Prak Road), from the Bridge on the River Kwai to the popular glass walkway (Skywalk Kanchanaburi City). This area is full of Portuguese-style buildings from World War II, and the whole street feels a bit like Chiang Mai, but more primitive than Chiang Mai. The entire old street is about 6-7 miles long, with World War II cemeteries, bar streets, and local farmers' markets. City Walk🧑‍🦯 is a great experience, especially the last section to the popular glass bridge. Although it's tiring, it's very pleasant. . This time in Kanchanaburi was not long, but overall it felt more fun than Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya is mainly about architectural monuments, but after seeing too many, you get a bit aesthetically fatigued. ☑️But Kanchanaburi is more diverse, with the Bridge on the River Kwai and World War II relics in the city, and the Tiger Cave Temple, one of the top ten most beautiful temples in Thailand, outside the city. There is also the pastoral MEENA Cafe; the elephant camp, where you can interact with elephants and bathe them; the Jasmine City, although not very impressive; the wildlife park, where you can take a photo with zebras but it costs 1,000 baht; Erawan National Park, with seven-tiered waterfalls... ‼️But the most troublesome thing is that these attractions are too far from the city, basically 20-56 kilometers away, and you can only reach them by chartering a car. After riding a motorcycle for a day this time, I felt too tired and didn't want to move. . But to be honest, if you like exploring niche routes, Kanchanaburi is worth a visit. There are not many Chinese people along the way, I only met a few Chinese speakers at the Bridge on the River Kwai, and almost didn't hear any elsewhere. It's a place worth visiting again if I have the chance‼️

#thailandtrip 📍River Kwai Bridge, Kanchanaburi Visited this iconic bridge in Kanchanaburi which is beautiful and full of history. The bridge is located at the centre of Kanchanaburi, still functioning and operating to date. The bridge was built from wooden blocks, and was really sturdy. We were there during evening and the weather was great for us to take a little stroll on the railway track! Also, we were lucky enough to catch the sight of the moving train across the bridge (in which I believed departed from the death railway to the centre of Kanchanaburi). There are gaps in between the wooden planks of the railway track, might be a little dangerous for little kids. There is also a few stores at the end of the bridge selling food fruits souvenirs, and there is also some eateries like Starbucks. Great experience here at River Kwai Bridge, worth a visit!
