There are total 3 floors for the entire bookstore where all are accessible through staircase within the place inside. This is such a nice place to chill out. The entire building is full of literary atmosphere ever since it has been re-furnished from an old theatre and now, it is a creative hub for event, exhibition, theatre and there are some cute hidden small shops selling clothes or their handmade products. Some highlights here: 1) the biggest Malaysia book retailer - Bookxpress 2) Go cart 3) Rexperience - Digital Art Space 🕰️Business Hours: - 830 am to 10 pm: Mon to Thurs - 830 am to 12 am - Fri to Sun 🚗 Parking - The parking nearby is very expensive at RM 5 for every half an hour. At the basement level of the REXKL arts hub, there is a food street that consists of a food-truck concept of individual stalls selling their own specialty menus! The ambience is very ghetto and funky, with the brick floors and industrial minimalistic look. One thing I thought could’ve helped was for there to be air-conditioning. It was open-air and way too hot for comfort. Anyway, we tried the signature noodles, cheeseburger and artisan cakes from three different stalls. I would recommend the burger but for that price, I think you can find cheaper options elsewhere. The pandan-flavoured cake tasted better than the Boston cream pie. #mymymemories RexKL is a creative community hub, where you can find lots of shops ranging from a bookstore, a tattoo parlor, food stores, clothing and more. And the best part of it, is that everything's local! There's even an event hall where you can find local concerts and theater groups doing shows. RexKL used to be a theater back in the olden days, and it is now converted into this creative community center. They refurbished a little of the space and maintained the look and feel of the old theater. A mix of old and new! There's a BookXcess on top, and as you know, there's plenty of "hidden spots" where you can take instagrammable photos of yourself. Some spots allow you to look out into the event/theater hall as well. Below, we visited two stores - Stellar Coffee and The Rex Bar. Stellar is a coffee and kombucha bar, and The Rex Bar is.. well, a bar 🤣 Our recommendations are the Hawthorn Kombucha from Stellar, and Highball Yuzu from The Rex Bar! There are places where you can sit and enjoy your drinks and food, a great place where you can gather with your friends and support the local creative scene too! RexKL BookXcess is one of the places in Kuala Lumpur that I saw on IG and really wanted to come to. The bookstore is on the 2nd floor. From a classic old cinema, it has been renovated into a bookstore. Anyone who likes taking pictures must not miss it. The design is like a loft, exposed concrete, the lighting here is very well arranged. No matter how you take a picture, it comes out beautiful. It is convenient to get there, close to many important stations. The shop is on Jalan Sultan Road, very close to Chinatown. #travelabroad

This time around, BookXcess featuring unique rustic maze shelf full of books surrounding the areas, from the second floor towards downstair as this building is actually an old cinema Known for their unique style, visitors shall be cautious all the time, not to miss any step while walking up or down the stairs. Also, I love how they split the areas into children’s sections, hot-selling books and others. There’s directory at the bookstore to help you navigate around the area. I was the one who decides to go there since he never been to REX KL so, I wanted to show him around. After going through the maze route of Bookxcess at the cultural centre, we decide to go down and find some food. And that's when he saw Stellar KL, on the left side of the passage with mirrors. They are still newly open when we came by. But option wise, it's enough to attract us to try. Their s'mores pie and the s'mores tart are super gooey. It's a bit too sweet even for me as a sweet tooth but the texture win my heart ❤️ I don't remember the exact price but, I could say that it's range from RM 20- RM 30 for both ☺️

#weekendgetaways Found this lovely gem within Kuala Lumpur City Centre - The Rex KL. This small cafe is just within the building itself, named after Stellar Cafe. They provide both indoor and outdoor seatings. Personally love this place because it is cosy and comfortable. Not to mention, the service staff is kind enough to offer serve water to us after we ordered our drink. Strongly recommended!

There are even art exhibitions on certain floors Rex KL was once a cineme/theater but it has now been transformed into 3 levels of dining, retail and event space. Beautiful place, very industrial with exposed truss, unfinished concrete wall and floor. All these combined to give a very matching setting for the retail and commercial activities found here - cafe, food court, exhibition space (currently on fashion) and a design bookshop. The play of materials is awesome, wood against concrete, concrete against glass. We enjoyed everything here

Bookxcess RexKL, The interior was renovated from an old movie theater. There is a classic inside. The walkway has holes, please walk carefully.
