Located in Germany, the Munich Palace Museum is a palace complex of the former rulers of Bavaria. It was built in 1385 and opened to the public as a museum in 1920. After hundreds of years of expansion by the Wittelsbach family, it has become a complex that integrates Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassical styles. The museum covers an area of about 23,000 square meters, including 130 exhibition rooms and 10 gardens. The exhibition rooms are divided into three parts: the main building of the palace, the Treasure House and the Cuvilliers Theater. The main building of the palace displays scenes of court life from the 16th to the 19th century, displaying porcelain, silverware, tapestries and portraits of monarchs of all dynasties; the Treasure House houses more than 1,200 pieces of royal jewellery, including 10th-century reliquaries, the Order of the Golden Fleece and diamond-studded crowns; the Cuvilliers Theater is a Rococo-style wooden theater that retains the original building structure of 1753. Through systematic display of cultural relics and architectural restoration, the Munich Palace Museum fully presents the evolution of political power and art collection system from the Duchy of Bavaria to the Kingdom.
