Beijing's Hutongs are also full of culture and art
Dongsi's new hutong reminds me of Yangzhou🏮
My impression of Yangzhou is of ancient yet bustling alleys.
Just like the hutongs of Qianmen and Dongsi in Beijing,
There is the bustling Dongguan Street, and the leisure of Pishi Street.
In Li Bai's poems, Yangzhou is romantic.
And the "Yangzhou Slow" that floats from Song Ci to the streets,
Was once the nocturne of the Twenty-Four Bridges,
And the "idle immortals" in the alleys,
No matter how tall the buildings are, the simple and self-consistent feelings remain🍵
So I returned to the hutong to listen to this "Beijing Slow".
This art courtyard, transformed from an old factory in Dongsi,
Is full of lanterns and people, with music, chess, poetry, painting, wine, and tea inside.
⛩️In the "temple" exhibiting intangible cultural heritage bamboo weaving art,
I listened to the barista telling stories about rare good beans and the production process,
As precious as the good wine you have drunk.
The senior drinking coffee across from me,
Unwrapped his package while talking, and played "Three Variations on the Plum Blossom" on the guqin.
The young lady who came from afar, I don't know when she started playing the handpan,
The ensemble was so wonderful! I couldn't help but applaud the high mountains and flowing water👏
🪟Next to Dongsi South Street,
There is an exhibition space and delicious food and wine downstairs,
And a unique art hotel on the second floor.
Look up to see "Jianxi" when going upstairs; "Da Yin" in the corridor.
In the room, I looked out the window at the old street with big trees, and the tea was still warm after a while🍵
This quietness in the midst of the hustle and bustle,
Is the romance of "drunk young people, half taking off the purple velvet robe",
And also the "slow" of old Beijing.
🧨In the dim lights, it's New Year again
