Easter Escapade to JB's Hidden Gem - RAW
Over the Easter weekend, we embarked on another adventure in Johor Bahru, leading us to RAW - Brew & Dine at Taman Pelangi, a café boasting an industrial-style ambience and a diverse menu ranging from brunch staples to Malaysian delicacies like ayam merah.
Opting for the Salmon Alfredo and Salmon Sando, we were delighted by the culinary experience. The creamy texture of the Alfredo pasta was perfectly balanced, not overwhelming the palate, reminiscent of a memorable salmon spaghetti dish enjoyed in Belgium years ago. It was a pleasant surprise to discover a similar taste just a stone's throw away from the causeway.
The Salmon Sando, a recent addition to their menu had been created meticulously from scratch. The salmon meat was chopped into small pieces, coated in breadcrumbs, and fried to perfection. Topped with ebiko and enveloped in a charcoal bun, each bite was a burst of delightful flavours.
For coffee aficionados, a word of advice: if you prefer a robust brew, consider opting for a double shot in your white coffee order. The single shot might come off as too mild, requiring an extra kick to balance out the milkiness and fully savour the coffee's richness.
Overall, RAW at Taman Pelangi proved to be a gem worth exploring for its exceptional food, ambience, and hospitality.
