Once you found the place it is quite nice. When we wen there the google maps pin was wrongly guiding us yo a closed restaurant. Bu there are signs on the road so follow those. Nice view over the Prambanan Temple for the restaurant and a very spacious area with temple ruins all over. Good walk and nice views We bought the combined ticket with Prambanan Temple. Ratu Boko is one of the most famous Keraton in Jogja. You should definitely go here for a quiet stroll in the morning or in the evening so you can see the beautiful sunset. The place is large enough so you won't often bump to another visitors while here. The stairs to go to the gate (Gapura) of the sites are great and not steep and has benches every few steps. The view along the steps in the staircases and in the sites even in the parking lot are stunning. But, mind you even tho this site are really large the toilets are only in a few spots. As the site are large, there are some sites that are closed because of unknown matters and a few area that can't be seen because of construction. Other than that you can see the traditional gate tower, keputren, temple miniature, and the bathing area easily. Up above the city the mountain was carved plain and rocks were formed to build a palace without masonry being used the rocks were formed into interlocking blocks. The palaces is vast with many wondrous buildings which seems to have been designed to group people into different sections with burning chambers and sepulchres hew into the mountain. To travel to Ratu Boko palace complex you'll have to buy a premium ticket so a minibus will take you there from Prambanan.
