I spent the next day hiking to the Tiger Cave Temple, catching panoramic views after 1,000 sweaty steps. Nights were slow — seafood BBQ on the beach, fire shows, and gentle waves crashing in the dark. Krabi is paradise, minus the crowds.

Then, I took a long-tail boat with my instructor and several other students to the climbing site. We first practiced some basic climbing skills on a relatively gentle rock wall, such as how to use climbing shoes, how to grip the rocks, how to maintain balance, and so on. My mentor is an experienced climber, and he patiently taught us and gave us a lot of encouragement. I was a little nervous and scared at first, but gradually I relaxed and felt that climbing is actually very interesting and challenging. We practiced on the first rock wall for about an hour, and then we switched to a higher and steeper one. There are many different routes on this rock wall, some easy and some difficult. I chose a route of medium difficulty and prepared to challenge myself.
