The intersection of Emmanuel Avenue and Marka Street is a small circular square, which is known as the Four Songs Square, also known as the Four Corner Square. Coming out of Palermo Central Station, there is an intersection not far across the street called the "Four Corners Square," which divides the old town center's landmarks into four areas. Each of the four corners has a fountain sculpture representing the four seasons, so it is also called the Four Songs Square. The four corners of the intersection are semi-arched Baroque facades, each three stories high, with exquisite sculptures of symbolic meaning from bottom to top. Locals have also given it a more poetic name, "The Theater of the Sun," because the sunlight illuminates one corner like a spotlight at different times of the day. If you tilt your camera upwards and narrow the wide angle, you can capture all four buildings in one frame, one point with four faces.

Via Maqueda, along with Via Vittorio Emanuele, one end of Via Maqueda is the Politeama Theatre, and the other end is the central railway station; one end of Via Vittorio Emanuele is the Norman Palace and the cathedral. Quattro Canti, built between 1608 and 1620, is surrounded by four inwardly curved arc buildings forming an octagonal (almost circular) square. This structure makes it an excellent open-air opera house, hence Quattro Canti is also called Teatro del Sole - Sun Theatre. Street performers perform here almost every day, with excellent sound effects.
