This place is like a forest out of a Hayao Miyazaki film!!
After a trip to Xinjiang, my heartfelt feeling is!
Apart from Xinjiang, the rest is elsewhere, no other place can replace it!
Xinjiang is about to enter the most beautiful summer, this summer, you must go to Xinjiang 🌲
·
✈ Chengdu - Yining, rent a car for a self-driving tour
🚙 Total cost per person is 6k (excluding airfare)
May in Yili has just entered spring, there is still snow in many places, the biggest advantage is that during the off-season, air tickets and hotel prices are cheap, and you can enjoy both the snow-capped mountains and some early blooming flowers🌼. June is the best time, with blooming flowers and green grass, but the snow mountains have melted, and the consumption is moderate. July and August are the peak tourist seasons, with all the lavender in Huocheng in full bloom, and the consumption is relatively high.
·
🚙 My favorite places throughout the journey
【Nalati】
Self-driving 300/person, although the price is not cheap, it is truly worth it, I love Nalati the most, there are herds of cattle and sheep on the grassland, as well as snow-capped mountains and streams, you must wait for the sunset at the nomadic homes
【Qiaxi Forest Park】
Compared to Kuerdening, I prefer Qiaxi, it's as romantic as an oil painting, just like the movie scene of 'Heidi and Grandfather', I suggest staying in Gongliu
【Qiongkushitai】
The road to Qiongku is extremely beautiful, there is a snow mountain swing in front of the mountain, there is no need to be stubborn about the back mountain, the stay at Qingkong Jiyi is awesome
【Fairy Lake】
Although it requires hiking, the scenery is absolutely worth it
【Sailimu Lake】
Get up at 5 am to go to S bay to watch the sunrise, an unforgettable experience, it is a beautiful scene that will be remembered for a lifetime
.
🚙12-day trip recommendation
1. Chengdu - Urumqi
2. Huocheng - Sailimu Lake (must see the sunrise)
3. Sailimu Lake - Guozigou Bridge - Huocheng Lavender, stay in Yining or Huanghuang Village
4. Yining - Tekes - Qiongkushitai
5. Qiongkushitai
6. Qiongkushitai - Kalajun Grassland - Stay in Zhaosu
7. Xatage scenic area - Stay in Tekes Bagua City at night
8. Tekes - Tekes River - Qiaxi Forest Park - Nalati, stay in the town
9. Nalati Grassland Scenic Area
10. Nalati - Northern section of Duku Highway - Tangbula - Fairy Lake, stay in Tangbula
11. Tangbula - Northern section of Duku Highway - Urumqi
·
🌟Precautions
1. Prepare mosquito repellent
2. Choose an SUV for car rental, the roads to Qiongkushitai and Qiaxi are not very good
3. The temperature difference between morning and evening is large, you can experience four seasons in one day
4. If you want to take pictures of the sunrise at Sailimu Lake and don't want to stay in the scenic area, you can enter from the east gate before 9 am (the south gate does not check tickets)

Summer in Xinjiang, the romantic ceiling of China!!
Summer in Xinjiang, the romantic ceiling of China!!
This summer, you must go to Xinjiang with your good friends!
Snow-capped mountains, grasslands, lakes, herds of cattle and sheep...
It's simply a paradise on earth!!
When you come to places like Yili in Xinjiang, you must visit
|Sayram Lake|
Known as 'the last tear of the Atlantic', in May, the ice and snow of Sayram Lake melt away, sparkling under the sunshine, incredibly beautiful.
|Naraty Grassland|
Naraty offers vast visual expanses, with wildflowers, snow-capped mountains, grasslands, and valleys everywhere, as if stepping into a fairy tale world of Hayao Miyazaki.
|Kunes Village|
An undeveloped Kazakh village, with clear views of snow-capped mountains, grasslands, swings, and log cabins, if you have enough time, chase a romantic sunset here.
Qapqal
To see the primeval forest, you must visit Qapqal, where in May it's already fully green, with grasslands, forests, snow-capped mountains, complemented by blue skies and white clouds, picturesque.
|Shatyr|
For a glimpse of 'The Wizard of Oz' in real life, Shatyr is the place, with spruce forests, streams, mountains full of wildflowers, Heidi's and her grandfather's cottage, unbelievably beautiful.

I stayed in Xinjiang for a month to tell you some things not to do
Don't ask how much the ticket is, ask how many years of youth are left. I decided to embark on a journey to Xinjiang in the northwest of my motherland, using a month to find my lost soul. After coming back, I am full of motivation, often staring at the photos in a daze.
To help friends who want to go to Xinjiang, I have compiled this travel guide, hoping to help everyone!
Where should I go first when I go to Xinjiang for the first time?
Urumqi, as the transportation hub of Xinjiang, is very convenient whether it is South Xinjiang or North Xinjiang. It is recommended to choose Urumqi as the first stop, because whether it is a group tour or self-driving, almost all vehicles start from here.
Precautions:
Time difference: There is a 2-hour time difference between Xinjiang and the mainland
Many ethnic minorities are used to saying Xinjiang time
Security check: Xinjiang's security check is very strict, train stations and airports require multiple security checks, it is recommended to go to the train station/airport in advance
Accommodation recommendation:
Urumqi: Recommend Friendly Business Circle or Zhongshan Road Business Circle
Kanas: Recommend Beitun City, secondly, Jadunyu and Burqin can be recommended
Hemu: Recommend staying in the scenic area log cabin, watching the stars all over the sky at night, increasing the play time during the day, and the experience is better
Sailimu Lake: Accommodation is recommended to stay in Qingshuihe Town or Huocheng County
Our self-driving route:
Starting from Urumqi, go to Sailimu Lake—Huocheng—Zhaosu—Tekes—Qiongkushitai—Nalati—Duku Highway, and finally return to Urumqi from Dushanzi.
The route is just a circle, which is a classic Yili ring line.
ps: The above self-driving journey is 12 days in total, a total of 2300 kilometers, without rushing to the road and rushing to the scenic spots, often 5-6 hours of self-driving time every day. I feel that rest and maintaining a good state are necessary.
Must-visit attractions:
Qiongkushitai: The grassland covering the sky, the fairy tale forest like a mist, the small wooden house with grass on the head, every eye is super healing
Huocheng Lavender: The purple sea of flowers tumbling with the wind is really romantic
Tangbula Fairy Lake: A small popular secret that needs to ride a horse up the mountain, accompanied by flowers all the way, it seems to be Alice in Wonderland
Nalati Grassland: The aerial photography and self-driving of the grassland and valley in the sky are absolutely amazing!
Sailimu Lake: "The last tear of the Atlantic"
If you have plenty of time, you must go for a self-driving tour around the lake
Duku Highway: Duku Highway that must be self-driving once in a lifetime! It will open around mid-June every year, and you will feel the four seasons along the way.
Xinjiang cuisine:
The big plate chicken, lamb skewers, roasted lamb chops, and roasted buns in Xinjiang are really amazing, and those who like heavy tastes can close their eyes.
ps: There are also old yogurt, cold water fish, hand-grabbed rice, wrapped meat, pulled strips and other delicacies waiting for you to taste!

Xinjiang Qiongkushitai Winter Wonderland: A Spiritual Cleansing
Stepping into the winter of Xinjiang Qiongkushitai is like entering a dreamlike world of ice and snow. Snowflakes gently fall, covering the entire world. Under the silver-white blanket, the distant mountains, nearby forests, and villages become peaceful and beautiful. The beauty here is pure, tranquil, and a fairyland that purifies the soul.
Qiongkushitai Village, hidden in the ancient village of Kalada Township, Tekes County, Xinjiang, is mainly inhabited by Kazakhs and retains its most primitive appearance. The houses here are all made of wood, and the roofs of the old houses are covered with green grass, making them particularly cute. Here, you can feel the warm hospitality of the Kazakh people and experience the simple rural life.
In Qiongkushitai, snow-capped mountains and forests complement each other, creating a series of stunning pictures. Majestic snow-capped mountains stand under the blue sky, dense pine forests surround the village, and clear streams flow through the village. Everything seems so harmonious and peaceful. Here, you can fully appreciate the magnificence of nature and feel the magical charm of nature.
The Kazakh people of Qiongkushitai are warm, hospitable, simple, and kind. They welcome every visitor with the most sincere smiles and treat every guest with the most sumptuous food. Here, you can experience the traditional lifestyle of the Kazakh people, taste authentic food, and feel the pure joy.
Qiongkushitai has vast alpine grasslands and pastures, where horses live leisurely and carefree lives. Watching them run and play on the grasslands, you will feel an indescribable tranquility and beauty. The horses here are not only good helpers for the herdsmen but also the most beautiful scenery on this land.
Qiongkushitai is a paradise for hiking enthusiasts. Hiking in the snow-covered mountains, stepping on the pristine white snow, and passing through the tranquil forests, you will feel an unprecedented peace and harmony. The sunlight penetrates the branches and leaves, casting dappled shadows on the grass, like a poem or a painting. Hiking and sightseeing here is an enjoyment and a spiritual practice.
The winter sunrise in Qiongkushitai is breathtakingly beautiful. When the first ray of sunlight shines on the earth, the entire village is bathed in a golden glow. The distant snow-capped mountains appear more majestic and magnificent under the morning light; the nearby forests and villages also become more peaceful and beautiful in this golden glow. Watching the sunrise here, you will feel the mystery and greatness of nature and cherish every moment of life even more.

Yili, Xinjiang | Qingtian Jiyi Homestay, a haven in a fairyland.
| Qingtian Jiyi Homestay, a haven in a fairyland. ✨Wow, guys! Today, I'm going to share the amazing Qingtian Jiyi Homestay with you!
📍It's hidden in Qiongkushitai Village, Tekes County, Yili, Xinjiang. This is a treasure trove of nomadic villages at an altitude of 2,000 meters, and one of the 100 historical and cultural villages in China! The natural landscape brought by the unique geographical location is simply amazing, and it is known as the last secret place in Yili. 🌟
🌄The design is very ingenious: The designer combed the site and determined the landscape orientation and light trajectory. While retaining the original appearance of the Kazakh log cabin, the way and position of the windows were cleverly changed, and various forms of windows brought the beautiful scenery into the room. The boundary between the interior and exterior was blurred. No matter which corner of the room you are in, you can see the beautiful scenery, like a flowing picture that changes with the seasons, so beautiful that it takes your breath away!
🛏The room layout is great: Although the four 360㎡ log cabins cannot be expanded or rebuilt, a reception hall and 12 rooms are planned, and almost all beds face the scenery. The transparent windows extend the view, and the cramped feeling disappears, as if you are living in the scenery.
🎨The interior is simple and elegant: There is no extra decoration, mainly wood and paint, with a small number of arches echoing the local characteristics. There is no headboard or bed design, which is close to the way Kazakh nomads sleep on the ground.
💡Energy saving is very considerate: All outdoor lighting uses solar lamps. At night, the log cabins on the grassland are lit under the stars, which is very atmospheric, like a warm fire giving travelers a sense of belonging.

How to start a grassland hike? Yili Kalajun Grassland.
🌟🌟Route planning
There are two ways to hike the Kalajun route: √forward and √reverse. Forward means starting from Qiongkushitai and hiking all the way to the east to Kurdening to complete the entire hike; reverse means hiking in the opposite direction, which has a larger climb.
Generally, gather in Urumqi or Yining, charter a car to Tekes County (the last supply point before entering the mountain), and then go to the village at the starting point of the hike. If you have other plans, you can choose to end in Yining, not return to Urumqi, and continue the next trip.

🌟🌟Kalajun Grand Loop itinerary
Here is a description of the 9-day Kalajun Grand Loop. If you want to experience the whole picture and have enough time for vacation, it is recommended to choose the 9-day Grand Loop.
✪✪ First of all, you can see more scenery! The end of Tarim always leaves you wanting more;
✪✪ Secondly, after crossing the red house, the scenery of the last few kilometers of Qiaxi Grassland is as exciting as the close view of the snow-capped mountains when you first enter the mountain. The camping site of Mohuer Grassland is in a small valley with little wind. When the moon rises during dinner, you can set up a tripod and wait if you have plans to shoot at night;
✪✪ Finally, the 6-day 120 km hike, with a maximum of 27 km in one day, is a milestone record, with a sense of accomplishment +10086.

There weren't many people in Qiongkushitai during the National Day holiday.
Qiongkushitai is no longer a popular destination during the National Day holiday. The homestays in the village closed after the holiday, and not all restaurants were open. Some ingredients were available, while others were not.
There were many Kazakh middle school students. You can ask them to ride horses. They were just trying to earn some pocket money during the holiday. They started riding horses at the age of 3. If you don't know how to ride a horse, you can ride with them. It's quite safe. You can ride a horse to the grassland on the high ground. The sunset is beautiful.
Qiongkushitai is also beautiful in autumn. There are streams, green grass, and golden trees. The colors are staggered.
WanderlustRhapsody
I suddenly found that my favorite Xinjiang homestay was empty.
The homestay owner said that he was having difficulty operating, so I went to the travel platform to take a look. The price was already as low as 100 (other homestays in Qiongkushitai started at 600), but every room was still empty.
✳️So I think I must share this very unpopular treasure homestay, which is also a Qiongkushitai accommodation experience post.
✳️First and foremost: location. Qiongkushitai is divided into foothill villages and back mountain homestays. There are few back mountain homestays, the location is remote, and you can enjoy the open scenery, but the price is over a thousand; most homestays are at the foot of the mountain, but the village center gathers too many well-decorated wooden house homestays and tourists. Looking around, there are stone roads, cars, and blocked views, and it is not cheap...
✳️And this homestay is just near the village center, occupying various advantages: isolated from the world, convenient consumption, and cheap price. When we found that we could enjoy the same scenery as the back mountain homestay for a few hundred dollars, we immediately stayed for 2 more nights.

Ili's Attachment (3).
The scenery of Chongkushitai is healing, quiet, and distant. This pastoral village, mainly inhabited by Kazakhs, is like a village in a fairy tale world, leisurely rendering the beautiful scroll of nature. Majestic snow-capped mountains, dense forests, vast grasslands, rushing rivers, gurgling streams... all are the paradise in dreams, and now they are so realistically presented to the world.
The afternoon Chongkushitai has a power to calm people down. Find a coffee shop by the stream, lie lazily, the sun shines through the huge floor-to-ceiling glass on me, with thousands of lights and shadows. Looking at the cattle and sheep under the mountain, the fish in the stream are playing happily, already intoxicated. Long live in the cage, and return to nature...
※Self-driving from Teks to Chongkushitai is like traveling through the Shat Ancient Road, you can always believe: the most beautiful scenery is on the road.
Zhaosu's thousands of clouds,
Accompanied by the wild horse running freely.
Under the vast sky,
There is the echo of the vast Shat Ancient Road,
That's the hero's farewell.
Magnificent, who can match?

Beautiful Qiongkushitai. Beautiful scenery.
Qiongkushitai is a classic that has only recently become popular. Many people just look at the green scenery. In fact, its winter scenery is also very beautiful and worth a visit.
Qiongkushitai Back Mountain, a little secret for horse riding!
Qiongkushitai, a beautiful village hidden in the hinterland of the Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang, maintains its original natural scenery, unique Kazakh style and peaceful and peaceful atmosphere.
The back mountain still maintains the most beautiful natural state. There is no artificial decoration here.
Beauty is the kind of place where you don't want to leave when you come... There is no charge for the scenic spot here.
It is also the place where there are the most "Heidi and Grandpa" houses in Yili.
Welcome to my hometown on the 11th.
InfiniteDreamer!
I would call Yili the most beautiful homestay in Qiongkushitai.
🌈【Sights on the Way】💫

Xinjiang Grassland 🌿 and Lavender Hillside 🪻at Qiongkushitai
#grassland
Qiongkush Terrace or Qiongkushitai is a place I accidentally heard about when I was driving on the Duku Highway last year. After searching online, this place is not on most tour groups or group tour routes. It is also a "niche secret" that has only been discovered in the past few years.
Compared with Nalati and Kalajun, the ticket-free Qiongkush Terrace is not so commercialized. The name of this destination is very special. Friends who are not familiar with it may miss a few words. A secret place that few people go to.

The significance of live pictures! Qiongkushitai is the grassland of my dreams
Qiongkushitai Village is really worth staying for a day. It's like a fairy tale world with flowing forest streams, wildflowers all over the grassland, and huge spruces piercing the blue sky 🌈. It really looks like the illustrations in the fairy tale books I read as a child 🏝.
✅ We visited local herdsmen's homes and were guests. In the evening, we could also participate in a bonfire party. The whole day was quite rich .

Reverse tourism wins big! September in Ili, a beautiful and niche choice like a fairyland
When everyone is heading to Kanas and Hemu, Ili is like a forgotten pearl, exuding unique charm. It is said that summer is the peak time for Ili, but autumn in Ili is equally stunning.
In autumn, the Ili River Valley is painted with brilliant colors, with grasslands and forests draped in golden hues, presenting a scenery completely different from summer.
What kind of experience would it be to visit Ili at this time?
1. Less crowded, excellent experience
For those who value travel quality, less crowded attractions are undoubtedly a better choice. At this time, Ili has relatively fewer tourists, so you don't have to worry about people in the background when taking photos. Meanwhile, Kanas and Hemu are in peak tourist season, requiring queues to enter the scenic areas, greatly affecting the travel experience.
2. Convenient transportation, upgraded experience
Kanas and Hemu scenic areas do not allow self-driving, and everyone needs to queue for shuttle buses. When there are many people, waiting for two to three hours is common, causing many inconveniences for tourists. In Ili, transportation is relatively convenient, allowing you to freely explore various attractions and enjoy a relaxed and pleasant journey.
3. Unique accommodations, enjoy luxury
Ili has many unique luxury camps, such as Kruger, Yunbao Ranch, and many homestays in Qiongkushitai. Each has unique scenery and features, allowing you to enjoy comfort and luxury during your trip. In contrast, the cabins in Kanas and Hemu, although unique, are expensive during peak season and lack complete facilities.
4. Stunning scenery, no less beautiful
From August to October, Ili's scenery is equally breathtaking. Sailimu Lake is picturesque all year round, Zhaosu's golden haystacks are unique this season, the snow-capped mountains of Xiata are still stunning, the grass in the back hills of Qiongkushitai is still green, and Nalati's autumn colors have a unique charm. The Duku Highway is also unobstructed.
Ili Autumn Travel Tips
The golden viewing period for Ili's autumn scenery is from September to October. Don't miss this limited golden autumn of just over 20 days.
Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays are good times to visit Ili, but if you have flexible time, traveling off-peak is better.
The average temperature in Ili in autumn is around 15 degrees, comfortable and cool, but the temperature difference between morning and evening is large, so be sure to bring warm clothing.

Xinjiang Qiongkushitai | Experience Kazakh Culture and Cuisine
Sincerely recommend to every friend visiting Xinjiang Qiongkushitai!
Not only can you taste authentic food
but also experience the traditional culture of the Kazakh people
just like in 'My Altay'!
The location is right next to the homestay where I live, not far from the gate of Qiongkushitai. There is a felt house 🛖 that looks very aged. The owner is a Kazakh who just moved from the winter pasture and makes food to entertain guests.
The inside of the felt house is very beautiful, decorated by the herdswoman herself. There are some Kazakh costumes that you can wear for photos, and there is a quilt from her wedding with her husband, with a large date embroidered on it.
The herdswoman's name is Guli. She can make Khurdak steamed noodles 🍜, milk tea, Baursak, and various snacks. It costs 50r/person and is very sumptuous. The sister doesn't understand much Chinese and can only communicate simply. She kept smiling at us while pouring milk tea, simple and beautiful.
Mr. Wang Zengqi once said, 'Sweet in the south, salty in the north, spicy in the east, sour in the west, all should be tasted.' Every time I go to a place, I want to experience different local cultures and feel different humanistic customs. If you are like me, I recommend going in and sitting for a while.

The back mountain of Qiongkushitai, Xinjiang
A small Kazakh village hidden deep in the Tianshan Mountains.
A seven-hour round trip by car, passing through grasslands, forests, and streams along the way. During the day, we rode horses to the back mountain and saw magnificent mountains, vast grasslands, dense forests, and simple wooden houses. Such beautiful scenery, it would be a shame not to take more photos to make up for the hardships of the journey.
This is the most arduous spot of the entire trip, driving up the mountain road for more than three hours, staying overnight, and then riding a horse for an hour to reach the back mountain the next day.
Driving on the mountain road made me nauseous, and riding the horse made my butt sore. The scenery was nice, but it was too exhausting. Taking photos was still good, and there was an autumn scene~ But the whole trip took seven hours by car and two hours on horseback. It was a bit not worth it.

🌟Finally, I still want to say that the Wusun Ancient Trail is really one of the most beautiful trekking destinations in China👏. But only those who have walked it will understand the bittersweet experience😃. The rushing and icy river, the changing weather, the harsh environment, the physical challenges... If you are not fully prepared, I do not recommend you take this journey. On the Wusun Ancient Trail, do not treat trekking as a pleasure trip, but as a self-challenge, so that the scenery in front of you will be more meaningful💗.

Xinjiang Yili Summer Tour - Journey to a Heavenly Place with Your Loved One
💑 In the summer of 2024, join hands with your beloved and meet in the enchanting Xinjiang. Majestic snow mountains, verdant grasslands, crystal-clear lakes, and herds of cattle and sheep compose a picture of a paradise on earth, captivating the heart and soul😭.
Last year, my six-day trip to Yili left me with countless wonderful memories and photos📷. Here are the must-visit places I highly recommend👇:
1️⃣ Sayram Lake - Known as 'the last tear of the Atlantic', Sayram Lake is especially blue in June and July. If you're lucky, you might even encounter elegant swans🦢.
2️⃣ Guozigou Bridge - Located near the south gate of Sayram Lake, from here you can take in the spectacular snow mountains, dense forests, and the majestic bridge, as if you are in a vivid painting, definitely worth a visit!
3️⃣ Xiatatu - This place is a convergence of glaciers, forests, and grasslands, offering a rich and colorful natural landscape. For those who love adventure and hiking, Xiatatu is undoubtedly an excellent choice.
4️⃣ Qiongkushitai - After a three-hour winding mountain road, we arrived at this undeveloped Kazakh village 'Qiongkushitai'. Riding horses through the back mountain trails, the scenery along the way is breathtaking, with distant snow mountains, grasslands, swings, and log cabins forming a touching picture. If time permits, do not miss the romantic sunset here🌇.
5️⃣ Qiaxi Forest Park - For a panoramic view of the primeval forest, Qiaxi is the best choice. Drive directly to Qiaxi's painting, every scene is worth capturing as a desktop wallpaper😭. Self-driving is convenient, but the roads may be rugged, so drive carefully~
6️⃣ Nalati Grassland - In Nalati, we chose to drive through two routes: the sky grassland and the valley grassland. The magnificent scenery of Nalati, the flat roads, the wildflowers everywhere, and the valley grassland under the snow mountains make one linger and forget to return, very suitable for family travel, enjoyable for all ages!
7️⃣ Yining Liuxing Street - Don't miss this place, set aside one to two days to stroll through the colorful streets of Liuxing Street, capture beautiful photos of the interplay of light and shadow📸, and taste authentic Xinjiang cuisine: yogurt ice cream, pilaf, mixed noodles, barbecue, big plate chicken, Xinjiang fried rice noodles, and sweet melons and fruits🍉.
The summer in Xinjiang Yili is as wonderful as a dream!!!
㊗️ Wishing everyone's trip is filled with laughter and beauty~

Beautifully intoxicating! A seven-day trekking trip from Qiongkushitai in Ili, Xinjiang to Anjihai Grand Canyon, Day 3
Day 3: Today's plan is to embark on a challenging trek from the Qiongkushitai alpine meadow across the Kalajun grassland, with the destination being a place called Flower Terrace in the Kalajun grassland. As a result, we were all intoxicated by the most beautiful grassland along the way.
This was the most physically exhausting day of our entire trip. We really regretted not eating enough lamb yesterday; everyone felt a bit low on energy. Fortunately, we got to enjoy some authentic yogurt at a herdsman's home today. Sister Hehua and Mom Guoguo simply decided not to walk anymore, indulging themselves in various activities and taking photos on the grassland. After some discussion, we agreed that those who didn't want to walk could stay and take photos or play around. There were also herdsmen renting out horses, so they could ride horses. Those who wanted to experience the full trek could complete it and then have a car pick them up.

I heard there is a secret place in Xinjiang, breathtakingly beautiful, and the best part is it's free|Qiongkushitai
Self-driving tour in Xinjiang, I heard there is a secret place, breathtakingly beautiful, this is Qiongkushitai Village, and the best part is it's free, definitely worth checking out:
Qiongkushitai is located in Kaladala Township, Tekes County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and is a Chinese historical and cultural village; Qiongkushitai is a pastoral village, with residents mainly of Kazakh ethnicity; the village is surrounded by mountains on all sides, with houses built by the water, the Kurday River, the valley is relatively wide, with a constant flow of clear and bright water throughout the year; rich in natural resources, most buildings are wooden structures, it is a well-preserved wooden building complex in the Ili Valley, with high historical and cultural value.
Qiongkushitai is full of blooming wildflowers, with comfortable temperatures, making it a perfect summer resort, surrounded by mountains and water, this place has a unique romantic charm, absolutely beyond imagination, it is a place surrounded by mountains, like stars surrounding the moon, there are so many surprises here, it is a place favored by time, under the clear blue sky and white clouds, flocks of sheep leisurely grazing on the grassy slopes, horses running and playing, these spirits give Qiongkushitai Village a leisurely and carefree life.
Food recommendation: Riverside Restaurant

I thought Sayram Lake was the ultimate destination until I visited
Qiongkushitai, a small town 90 kilometers from Tekes on the ancient Usu Road
Here, I experienced the swing in the rain
The little wooden houses on this grassland seem to be where Heidi and her grandfather lived
If you can only visit one place on the Ili grassland, it must be Qiongkushitai
Because it is the only place that does not charge a fee, and the scenery is particularly beautiful
🚘How to get there
Self-driving is recommended
It takes 3~4h from Tekes. The scenery along the way is very healing, and this month you will see large fields of sunflowers 🌻 by the roadside
🛤️Road conditions
The mountain roads are rugged with many curves, so be sure to drive safely‼️‼️
👉Playing in the village
➡️Visit the village, the front hill, the back hill, and the ancient Usu Road
There are two different roads for entering and leaving the village during the day (but it is a loop and both roads lead to the destination)
➡️Riding horses 🐎 and hiking 🚶♀️ to the back hill
The whole trip takes about 3~4h, and there is a popular swing at the top of the hill
Horse riding 🐴 costs 80 yuan/hour, 288 yuan for half a day, and 488 for the whole day.
Someone will lead the way. The streams 🏞️, forests 🌳, cattle and sheep 🐂, and grasslands 🌿 along the way are truly no less than the scenery of Switzerland
➡️Hiking the ancient Usu Road
In addition to hiking the back hill, you can also hike the ancient Usu Road, which is a top hiking route known as the most beautiful in Ili. It takes about 8️⃣h↔️ to go back and forth, and the beautiful scenery along the way is definitely worth it
➡️Qiongkushitai Grassland (back hill)
The village houses are all wooden cabins 🏡, scattered on the grassland 🌿
The grassland offers the best views, with herds of cattle and sheep 🐂 and distant snow mountains
But when it rains (and you forget to bring an umbrella, you get soaked all the way)
🏠Accommodation
🌈There are many homestays in Qiongkushitai village, where you can wake up to the grasslands and snow mountains outside the window every day
🌈You can also camp (there is a large tourist center on the road out of the village) with toilets 🚾 and water 💦
📷Photo tips:
⭕️On the way there
⭕️The swing at the mountain top
⭕️The swing at Yunhai Mountain Villa (where you can capture the forest and snow mountains)
⭕️The swing at Shanye Homestay
⭕️The same type of wooden house as Heidi's grandfather (on the top of the back hill)
⭕️The ❤️ heart-shaped tree opposite Yunhai Mountain Villa
⚠️Small tips:
⏺️The swings at the homestays are not accessible unless you have a room reservation or something to eat
⏺️The temperature difference between day and night is large, so be sure to bring a thick coat
⏺️If it's your first time self-driving into the area, be sure to drive safely, and it's not recommended to drive in the dark as the mountain roads are winding
⏺️If the weather is good, the sunset glow after ten o'clock at night is super beautiful, and you can see it from within the village

Kunes is really worth staying for a day
Looking up at the night sky full of stars in a small village far from the city lights
Xinjiang's Ili is similar to Switzerland but more vast
Especially the small hillside that this room faces, it's like dreaming back to Grindelwald
Ridge Fir Homestay
Xinjiang is really beautiful~ I really like this homestay, everything is disposable (towels, toilet covers, it's really a plus)
The people here are very nice and the service is good~ I really like the time spent here
