Qinhuangdao Wildlife Park Self-Drive Tour Guide for Families with Kids
🍂Park Introduction: Qinhuangdao Wildlife Park is located in the world-famous tourist destination of Beidaihe Scenic Area, adjacent to the vast Bohai Bay to the east, connected to the famous Beidaihe attraction Pigeon Nest to the south, backed by the Jingshan Railway to the west, and close to the Asian Games Village to the north. It is an essential stop on the north-south tourist route of Qinhuangdao. Established in 1995, the park is situated within the Beidaihe Seaside National Forest Park, surrounded by green trees and golden sands, and facing the Shallow Bay Bathing Beach across the road, which is just a 2-minute walk away. Covering an area of over 5,000 acres, it is currently one of the largest urban wildlife parks in China, with a high forest coverage rate and a beautiful natural environment. The park is home to more than 120 species and over 4,000 animals from around the world, including national first and second-class protected animals. The wildlife park is divided into six animal exhibition areas: the caged area, the beast area, the African style garden, the central square pet paradise, the herbivore area, and the walking area. Visitors can either drive themselves or take the park's sightseeing bus to tour around. The zoo makes full use of the forest and green space to imitate the natural habitats of various animals, keeping them in separate areas, creating an atmosphere of returning to nature and simplicity, and forming a tourist feature of harmonious integration between humans and nature.
🍂Ticket Price: Adult ticket is 90 RMB per person. Free for seniors over 70 years old and children under 1.2 meters. Half price for people aged 60-70 and minors under 18 years old. Self-driving car ticket is 50 RMB per vehicle. Paper tickets are required to enter the park, so be sure to bring your ID card.🤓
🍂How to Enter: Self-drive🚗 or take the park's mini train🚂. Self-driving is recommended for a more leisurely and comfortable experience. However, during the tourist peak season, there may be more vehicles and less opportunity to stop. The mini train is not very well ventilated and can be stuffy! Reminder: Pets are strictly prohibited in the park!!!
🍂Preparation for Entry:
ID documents, drinking water, mosquito repellent stickers, sunscreen, and... vegetables! They can be used to feed the animals, and the interaction is great! You can bring your own, or buy them at the park entrance, 20 RMB for one pack, 30 RMB for two packs.
🍂Tour Route:
1️⃣ Elephant Yard
Follow the walking path to reach the Elephant Yard, where there are three elephants🐘, said to be a family of three. You can also buy the popular elephant ice cream here, so cute! Along the way, you can see the gibbons٩(ˊωˋ*)و, which look a bit scary🤦♂️
2️⃣ Beast Area
⚠️Note: When self-driving into the beast area, it is strictly forbidden to open windows or get out of the car, and feeding is prohibited!!!
Here you can observe large predators up close, including tigers🐯, lions🦁, and black bears🐻. Probably due to being in captivity for a long time, the beasts have lost some of their wildness and mostly lie around lazily! Although the distance is close, there are electric fences for safety.
3️⃣ Herbivore Area
🚗Driving into this area is probably the most interesting, as you can have a real close encounter with the little animals🐑🫎🐂🦓🦘! Along the way, many animals will come up to ask for food, so be careful when feeding, or you'll witness a frenzy of animals crowding around!
Here's a reminder⚠️: The park's design alternates between the beast and herbivore areas, so after passing the herbivores, you will still go through the beast area. So be sure to close your windows in time!!!
4️⃣ African Style Garden
You can walk to this area, where there are camels🐫, zebras🦓, and giraffes🦒. At the entrance, tree branches are sold for 20 RMB each🌿, which can be used to feed the giraffes🦒. Get your camera ready, it's a great photo opportunity!
5️⃣ Flamingo Area
Finally, you'll pass through a vibrant flamingo garden🦩🦩🦩, which is truly a visual feast! So beautiful! There are also ponies and lambs to feed. If you still have vegetables, feed them to these little cuties😘
