Anxi's city business card can be more than Tieguanyin. Here, there is also a thousand-year-old ancient temple, Qingshuiyan, which is on the Penglai Mountain. At first I saw Qingshuiyan, and I always thought of the Muir Temple in Qinghai. These two great temples are built on top of the cliff. Qingshuiyan is not as tall as the Muir Temple, and it is built only at 500 meters. However, it is backed by lion-shaped dragon veins, surrounded by three peaks and arched, facing deep, and the distant place is the Penglai basin, and the excellent environment has created the holy dust of this temple. Qingshuiyan is the Qingshui ancestor's dojo, the Qingshui ancestor who created the temple, is a famous name of the Northern Song Dynasty, and only for the benefit of the people in his life. Because of his selfless dedication, he has been enshrined in the Song Dynasty four times, and he has given the emblem of "Zhao Ying Guang Hui Tzu Chi Shan Li Master", which is famous for its eight-character sound. The entire temple is a pavilion style and is divided into three floors. The first floor is the Tiankou, the second floor is the Zu Shi Hall, and the third floor is the Shijia Building. There are wing clocks and drum towers on the left and right sides; Tan Yue Hall, Guanyin Hall and Fang Ming Hall are separated on both sides. From a distance, the buildings that are layered back and protected form an "Emperor" character, magnificent and magnificent.

A Family Pilgrimage to Anxi Qing Shui Yan: Tranquility and Heritage in Quanzhou
#familytravel #china #quanzhou #chinesetemple #familyday #blessings
Nestled atop a serene mountain in Anxi, Qing Shui Yan is a mesmerizing temple that effortlessly blends architectural elegance with profound cultural heritage. As you ascend toward this sacred site with your family, the journey becomes more than just a visit—it’s an exploration of history, faith, and natural beauty.
The temple’s design is awe-inspiring, with three-tiered pavilions harmoniously built into the mountain. The first level, Haotian Pavilion, welcomes visitors with its majestic presence. The second level, dedicated to the Patriarch Hall, exudes spiritual reverence, while the third level, Shakyamuni Hall, offers sweeping views of the verdant landscape. The intricate red brick walls and gray-tiled roofs blend seamlessly with the surrounding lush pines and bamboo, creating a sense of timeless elegance.
Behind the main halls lies the “True Void Pagoda,” housing the relics of Qing Shui Patriarch. Topped with a newly built three-tiered pavilion, this structure stands as a testament to the temple’s spiritual significance. Every corner of the site whispers stories of devotion and faith.
Around Qing Shui Yan, various unique landmarks await exploration. Highlights include the “Lion’s Throat,” a natural rock formation; the cascading waters of “Clear Pearl Curtain”; and the ancient “Branches Facing North,” an old camphor tree said to bow northward in homage to the legendary Yue Fei. Don’t miss the stone carvings depicting the temple’s panoramic landscape and the lush “Arhat Pine,” which has stood as a silent witness to centuries of history.
Qing Shui Yan is not just a temple; it’s a living piece of Quanzhou’s spiritual and cultural identity. A family visit here is a journey into the heart of tradition and tranquility, creating memories that will linger long after you’ve left its misty embrace.
Tips for Your Visit:
• Bring an empty bottle to refill with the temple’s holy spring water, believed to hold blessings.
• Pair your visit with a local tea-tasting experience in Anxi, home of the renowned Tieguanyin tea.

A great place to make a wish and burn incense—Anxi Qing Shui Yan.
There are many folk beliefs in southern Fujian. Yesterday, I learned about the "Sea God" Mazu culture of Shantan, and the "God of Medicine" Baosheng Dadi, who is said to cure diseases and save lives. Today, I visited the Qing Shui Yan Scenic Area, which is the "Rain God" Qing Shui Zushi's dojo. Qing Shui Zushi, whose dharma name is Puzu, was a monk in the Song Dynasty. After his death, he was worshiped as a deity.
I drove directly to the underground parking lot. After coming out, I could see Penglai Town from the platform. The town is sandwiched between mountains. I didn't realize how many mountains there are in Fujian until I came here.
The weather was just right today, not too hot or cold. The thin clouds revealed a refreshing blue sky. The "Emperor" shaped Qing Shui Yan Temple looked even more beautiful and unique among the green mountains and rivers. The colorful, exquisitely patterned, and detailed glazed decorations were stunning.
The incense here is very popular. In similar places I've visited before, there were mostly tourists, but here, almost all the visitors were locals of all ages. Everyone comes to worship.

The Year of the Dragon, well, everyone hopes for good fortune, and I am no exception. So I came here, hoping to borrow the spiritual energy of Qingshuiyan to pray for blessings for myself and my family. 🐲🎋
Stepping into Qingshuiyan is like entering another world. Green mountains and clear waters, mist swirling around, it's like a fairyland. 🌿🌤️ Walking up the stone steps, you can also hear the babbling of the brook, as if it's telling stories of a thousand years. 💧📜
Upon arriving at the temple, seeing the solemn and dignified Buddha statues, I couldn't help but feel a deep respect. I bowed sincerely, praying for my family's safety and success in the new year. 🙇💰
The snacks here are also exceptional! Especially those unique local snacks, they made me, a foodie, simply unable to stop. 😋🍢
Alright, that's all for the share! I hope everyone has great luck in the new year! Best wishes for the Year of the Dragon 🏮, may the dragon's journey be mighty 🐉
