#Qingcheng Mountain Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
I regretted it as soon as I came to the back mountain of Qingcheng!!!
Wuwuwu forgive me for the clickbait
I regret not coming earlier, the back mountain of Qingcheng is really too chill!!
.
Here is a detailed 2️⃣ day tour guide of the back mountain of Qingcheng📝
Day1️⃣: Xipu-Qingcheng Mountain Station-Qingcheng Back Mountain Scenic Area
Day2️⃣: Dujiangyan-Yangtianwo Panda-Guanxian Ancient City-Zhongshuge-Nanqiao Night View-Return
.
✔️In the morning 🚄 Xipu-Qingcheng Mountain Station, take the scenic area bus to the entrance of the scenic area 30r/person (round trip) on the left hand side of the station, or self-drive🚘
✔️I personally think that the most beautiful scenery route is mainly concentrated in the section from Wulonggou to Youyicun, which is to walk up the mountain and take the cable car🚠 down the mountain, which is not tiring and can take beautiful photos📷
✔️Most of the road up the mountain is stone roads and wooden plank roads, all the way up are streams and waterfalls, the air after the rain is really fresh, walk and stop to take pictures to Youyicun about 3 hours, not tired at all!
.
This time we came to the back mountain, we stayed at the Yun End Hot Spring Hotel in Qingcheng Mountain
It's in the scenic area, the main purpose is to come for the hot spring♨️, not only there are outdoor soup pools here, but also indoor ones~ It's very suitable for climbing the mountain and returning to the hotel for dinner and rest and then soaking in the hot spring♨️ with the little sisters, looking at the misty mountains, while soaking in the hot spring while enjoying nature! Soaking in the hot spring can not only relieve fatigue, promote blood circulation, but also relax after soaking, and sleep until the next day naturally wake up!
.
The next day can be self-driving or Qingcheng Mountain Station-Dujiangyan Station
Recommended route: Yangtianwo Panda-Guanxian Ancient City-Zhongshuge-Nanqiao Night View-Return
.
🔘Back mountain ticket: 20r/person, cable car 30r/person
🔘The climbing stick bought at the entrance is 3r, I personally think that climbing must be prepared, but the cable car cannot be taken away (foldable can be)
🔘The temperature difference on the mountain is large, you must wear waterproof and warm clothes and non-slip good walking shoes
🔘 It is recommended not to bring a lot of water, there are a lot of snacks and water for sale all the way, and it is not recommended to drink a lot of water, there are really very few toilets on the road (don't ask me how I know😭)
.
Worship the water Dujiangyan Ask the way Qingcheng Mountain⛰️
There is still snow in the back mountain these days, if you have one or two days on weekends or weekdays, you must come to Dujiangyan/Qingcheng Back Mountain!

The real-life version of Twilight Forest, this summer retreat, is absolutely amazing
I never thought about climbing the mountain before going to Qingcheng Mountain
After all, this kind of self-torturing project is daunting
Under the encouragement of friends and the temptation of taking the cable car up and down
I still went to experience it
Then it's really tiring, but also truly beautiful~

Qingcheng Mountain in Chengdu
Chengdu can get really hot in summer and it's hard to escape the City-Heat. But there is Qingcheng Mountain! With subway and inner-city train, it is reachable within 90minutes!
At the very very eastern beginning of the Tibet-Qinghai plateau, there is Qingcheng mountain. There are two mountains, one is a little bit west of the other, the Chinese names are 'Qianshan' and 'Houshan'. I went to Qianshan, if you want to do both, you should stay two days. 🏔️🌄 In the area are many nice hotels/guesthouses too, nice for a weekend hideout.
🎫 Ticket depends on the mountain and if you take the cablecar 🚡 or walk, but it's within 100RMB!
On the mountain, there are many temples to explore, there is a lake and numerous viewpoints! ⛩️🚣♀️🏞️

Incredible Mountain 🗻
Very good vacation. Stayed at the Qingyuan Qingcheng Hotel which was only 10 mins walk to the base of the mountain. A lot of convenience for those who like to take short cuts!! Cable car to take you to the top and back down. So much to see and the views are incredible. Make sure to walk with mosquito repellent.

Exploring the Taoist culture on Qingcheng Mountain is considered as the birthplace of Taoism and one of the most important Taoist centers in China. It can be a long hike up to the top but you pass by beautiful lakes, waterfalls and plenty of nature. For the physically less active there is also a chance to pay for a cable car ride but if you have the ability to walk, I highly recommend it. You can spend a full day here and just let all your thoughts fade, refresh and re energize yourself. There are food opportunities along the way and also refreshments stops. For sure you won't get bored!

Qingcheng mountain is really worthy to visit in Autumn. Some ancient temple and amazing views make you calm and relax. it’s not hard to climb by foot.
The temples in Qingcheng Mountain allow you glimpse both old and new cultures. The area is becoming easier to reach so tourism is growing. it can still be an affordable trip, but try to go when it is not a Chinese holiday so it will be less crowded. #merrychristmas

The advantage of self-driving is to make the travel more free, you can capture the desired scenery anytime and anywhere...
Teihu e escort us all the way, cool appearance, large space, flat air outlet, leather steering wheel, full HD Multi-contact capacitive screen and so on have improved the sense of grade, the most comfortable main driving seat electric 6 adjustment + electric lumbar support + front seat electric heating, etc., is the best one in the pure electric SUV I have experienced. Even if you drive long distances, you won't feel tired.
All the way to Qingcheng Mountain, the high-quality ecology makes the charm of Qingcheng Mountain prosper. Here, time goes slowly, the body and mind will relax, the ear will listen to the rain, and the bottom of the cloud is the cloud. Volume cloud Shu.
A place I would visit again, I love the mountains so much!
A place I would visit again, I love the mountains so much.
I stayed at a homestay on Qingcheng Mountain in Chengdu not long ago.
Every day I was woken up by the sound of birds, meditated facing the mountain, took deep breaths of oxygen, and at night I could soak in a hot spring and eat hot pot.
Chatting with the hotel staff who were digging in the ground, I found out he was the owner of the homestay.
Working with passion is a kind of enjoyment.
The homestay in the mountains is simply too ethereal! Pictures can't capture its beauty and the artistic conception, with high mountains and flowing water, a vista of greenery, and opening the window is like unveiling a painting! The service at the homestay is also top-notch, every staff member is exceptionally warm and attentive, and the room's amenities are high-end, with free water in the fridge being Paris water, Evian mineral water! The restaurant offers a variety of mushroom chicken stews, and they even have bamboo fungus, it's like dining in a high-end restaurant, with porridge and noodles for breakfast, all tasting very good!
If you come to Chengdu, you must visit this top-tier homestay!

Visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, seek the Dao at Mount Qingcheng. As the foremost Daoist mountain in Western Sichuan, Mount Qingcheng is world-renowned. When visiting Dujiangyan, be sure to dedicate a day to Mount Qingcheng⛰️
⏭️ Mount Qingcheng is divided into the Front Mountain and the Back Mountain. Those who want to experience Daoist culture should climb the Front Mountain, while those who wish to enjoy natural landscapes should climb the Back Mountain. I personally recommend climbing the Front Mountain. Today, I'll teach you how to reach the summit in 1 hour, and complete the entire Mount Qingcheng hike in 3.5 hours without missing any scenery.
Tickets🎫: Front Mountain⛰️: 80 Back Mountain⛰️: 20
Route🧵: Mountain Gate➡️Tianran Pavilion➡️Yuecheng Lake->➡️Mountain Cableway➡️Shangqing Palace➡️Laojun Pavilion➡️Chaoyang Cave➡️Celestial Master Cave➡️Natural Pictures➡️Mountain Gate
⏺️After entering the scenic area from the main gate, head towards Yuecheng Lake. Take the cableway to Shangqing Palace (one-way cableway 35, round-trip 50). You must take the cableway‼️ Otherwise, it will take at least four hours to climb to the summit. The cableway takes about five minutes, and a ten-minute walk from the cableway station will get you to Shangqing Palace. Here you can eat some dry food to replenish your energy. A ten-minute climb from the back door of Shangqing Palace will take you to the highest point of Mount Qingcheng, Laojun Pavilion. From here, you can see the whole of Mount Qingcheng and the snow-capped mountains of Aba Prefecture in the distance🏔️
⏺️When descending, head down from the left side of Laojun Pavilion following the signs towards Celestial Master Cave. The path down is quite steep, so be careful. This is also the normal route for climbing up. You can see attractions like Chaoyang Cave, Celestial Master Cave, and One-Line-Sky. It takes about one and a half hours to reach the foot of the mountain. Descending is faster than ascending, and there are fewer people at each attraction, making it especially good for taking photos.
Visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, seek wisdom at Qingcheng Mountain, what a joy, what a joy
In the spring season, embark on a spontaneous journey to Chengdu, the city that warms the heart of China. 😊😊😊
It is said to pay homage to the water at Dujiangyan, to seek the way at Qingcheng Mountain. Having both mountains and waters, isn't it the perfect scenic spot for tourism? 👍👍👍
👍 Most recommended:
Qingcheng Mountain is actually more fun at the back mountain, just in time for a heavy rain. But it came and went quickly, and the air was fresh after the rain. Paired with temples, the tranquil atmosphere is particularly stylish. 😁😁😁
👍 Most recommended:
Do not miss the Dujiangyan at night, the magnificent 'Blue Tears'. Even if you have reached the train station, you should refund your ticket and go back to take another look.
The pandas at Yangtianwo are so fitting for this place's name.
I asked Qingcheng Mountain how long it would remain unchanged, and the mountain asked me when I would have leisure time

🏨: Serene Time
Seeking the path to Qingcheng Mountain, I pay homage to the waters of Dujiangyan
Qingcheng Mountain, located in Dujiangyan City of Sichuan Province in Chengdu, is one of the birthplaces of Taoism in China. The mountain is home to layers of Taoist architecture, surrounded by mountains with serene and beautiful scenery, and remains green throughout all seasons. The peaks of Qingcheng Mountain are well-arranged with unique shapes, resembling a city, hence the name Qingcheng (Green City) Mountain. There are many famous scenic spots on Qingcheng Mountain, such as the Thousand Steps of the Vermilion Stairway and the Winding Path Leading to a Secluded Spot, which have been renowned for their tranquility since ancient times. Along with Jianmen, Emei, and Kuimen, Qingcheng Mountain is acclaimed as one of the 'Four Beauties of Western Sichuan'. If you are traveling around Chengdu, Qingcheng Mountain is definitely one of the most beautiful destinations to visit.
Qingcheng, a world of serenity
Qingcheng Mountain is located southwest of Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province, 68 kilometers east of Chengdu city center, and 10 kilometers southwest of the Dujiangyan irrigation project. The highest peak of Qingcheng Mountain Scenic Area, Laojun Pavilion, has an elevation of 1260 meters and is divided into the front and back mountains. The peaks rise and fall amidst the lush, verdant forests, earning it the reputation of 'Qingcheng, a world of serenity.'
The mountain is evergreen throughout the year, with peaks surrounding it like city walls, hence the name Qingcheng Mountain. With a thousand steps of red stairs and winding paths leading to secluded spots, its tranquility is its winning feature. The Tianshi Cave and Yuanming Palace inside and outside the scenic area are particularly serene, making them a major characteristic of Qingcheng Mountain.
🕙Opening hours:
8:00-17:00 (March 2 - November 30) 8:00-18:00 (December 1 - March 1)
📍Detailed address:
Dujiangyan City, Chengdu, Sichuan Province
Ticket information: Front mountain ticket is 80 yuan.
The front mountain is centered around Changguan and Shangqing Palace, with temples and palaces in sight of each other. Human landscapes such as Jianfu Palace, Ancestor Hall, Chaoyang Cave, and natural scenery like Jinbian Rock, Shisun Peak, and Zhangren Mountain complement each other. The main attractions include Laojun Pavilion, Yuecheng Lake, Tianshi Cave, Shangqing Palace, Wudongtian, Xianlu Qingliang, Bicui Qingcheng, Natural Paintings, Ancestor Hall, Chaoyang Cave, Yuanming Palace, and Jianfu Palace.
Back mountain ticket is 20 yuan.
The back mountain of Qingcheng is 60 kilometers from Chengdu and more than 20 kilometers from Dujiangyan city area, covering an area of about 100 square kilometers. Adjacent to the Wolong Nature Reserve, it is an important part of the habitat for the Sichuan Giant Panda, a World Natural Heritage site. There is a saying that 'the serenity of the mountain is equally shared.' The main attractions include Jinbi Tiancang, Taian Ancient Town, Crystal Cave, Santanwuquan (Jinwa Tuo), Longyin Gorge Plank Road, Shuangquan Water Curtain, Baizhang Long Bridge, Baiyun Group Caves, and Tianqiao Wonders.
📝Tips:
①Do not believe the scalpers near the high-speed train station who say they will take you halfway up the mountain for 100 yuan to save time and effort. In reality, they will only take you a short distance because there are no drivable roads within the Qingcheng Mountain scenic area; it's all about climbing stairs, and cars can only go to the nearest parking lot to the entrance of the scenic area.
②Do not believe the scalpers at the entrance who say they can take you into the scenic area for 40 yuan without buying a ticket, and you only pay after entering. In reality, they are directing you to a small path next to the main gate (the kind trampled by people), where they move the railing to let you sneak in. It's slanted, steep, and slippery, very unsafe, and you don't even know where it leads.
🚉Transportation strategy:
You can take a taxi from the Qingcheng Mountain high-speed train station 🚄.
⏳Recommended playtime:
One day

The scenic area is located in the urban area of Dujiangyan, and also includes attractions such as Erwang Temple and Anlan Cable Bridge, which can be visited for 2-4 hours.
Regular adult ticket is 80 yuan and student ticket is 40 yuan
👣Recommended Route:
1. Enter from the South Gate - Yanguo Path - Fulong Temple - Baopingkou - Feishayan - Fish Mouth - Anlan Cable Bridge - Qinyan Tower (view the panorama of Dujiangyan - Erwang Temple - Songmao Ancient Trail - Chenghuang Temple - Exit from the East Gate.
Be sure to go to the South Bridge at night (check in the Blue Tears), see the night view on West Street, and eat snacks.
2. You can also enter from the East Gate, go up the Yulei Pavilion escalator, Anlan Cable Bridge - Fish Mouth - Feishayan - Baopingkou - exit from the South Gate. The advantage is that it saves energy without climbing mountains, but the disadvantage is that some attractions are not on the way and cannot be seen.
Just 1 hour away from Chengdu, you can reach the Moroccan Manor
Tucked away in Qingcheng Mountain👒
With Moroccan architectural style, the extensive use of brick red, and arches everywhere, it feels like an instant teleportation to Morocco~🙉

Here, each accommodation is a separate villa with three floors, featuring a private pool + hot spring + garden.
On a whim, I and my friends decided to stay at the Moma Garden Hot Spring B&B on Qingcheng Mountain within minutes of meeting up – Super photogenic. I drove from my home near Wanda Plaza and arrived in an hour and a half – No difficult roads, but be mindful of the speed limit after entering Qingcheng Mountain as per the navigation reminders, it's easy to get penalized~^_^ Super photogenic. A hiking and oxygen-inhaling trip to the back mountain of Qingcheng
If you want to relax, climbing a mountain might be a good choice.
I went there in early June when it was raining, but the misty rain made the whole mountain look even more beautiful. The process was also interesting. The back mountain of Qingcheng gave me a feeling of tranquility. At a glance, it was all green, very friendly to my eyes, and I was crazily inhaling oxygen. There are many streams and small waterfalls running through the mountains. Sitting on the Baiyun Cableway and looking at the misty Qingcheng Mountain was like entering a fairyland. All the photos were taken with the original camera of the phone, I liked it so much!
My transportation:
Departed from Xipu Station at 9:50
Arrived at Qingchengshan Station at 10:30
Turn left out of the station, take the shuttle bus between the high-speed train station and the back mountain
Got off the bus at 11:20, had lunch
My duration and route:
Started climbing from Taian Ancient Town after lunch at 12:00
Took about 3 hours to reach Baiyun Cableway
The Baiyun Cableway ride was about 25 minutes
Walked down from the cableway, arrived at Taian Ancient Town at 17:40
Went up the mountain via Feiquan Gully, took the Baiyun Cableway, and came down the mountain from Wulong Gully
My expenses:
Inevitable costs: round-trip high-speed train ticket (20), round-trip bus (30), entrance ticket (20, student ticket 10), one-way Baiyun Cableway (45)
Other expenses: buying water, corn, smoked ribs, meals
Spent about 170 in total
‼️‼️‼️Some precautions:
The mountain paths are narrow, try to avoid going during peak times
The roads are quite slippery, wear shoes with good slip resistance
The signal in the mountains is not very good, it is recommended to go with others
The weather in the mountains is changeable, it is recommended to carry an umbrella and raincoat
The higher you go, the more expensive things get, bring some water and snacks
The last shuttle bus from the high-speed train station to the back mountain is at 19:30 in the evening, plan your descent time accordingly
You must visit Qingcheng Mountain at least once during the holiday
Not seeking for Taoism, but for tranquility|Detailed guide for a light hike in Qingcheng Mountain||'Bai Suzhen under Qingcheng Mountain, cultivating herself in the cave for a thousand years, ah~ah~'
When you come to Qingcheng Mountain, you will inevitably hum this lyric. The legend is beautiful, but I want to say, Qingcheng Mountain is more beautiful than the legend.
❤️My feelings
⛰️Clear: A day's happiness comes from greedily taking a breath of mountain air, as if the air is sweet.
⛰️Green: The mountain is full of green, no matter winter or summer, through the green pines, along the mountain road to the depth, for a light hike.
⛰️Secluded: People say Qingcheng Mountain is for seeking Taoism, but I am not seeking Taoism in this journey, but for tranquility, Qingcheng Mountain is the most secluded in the world.
💡Answer two questions
🔸Q: Which one to choose, the front mountain or the back mountain of Qingcheng Mountain?
🔹A: The front mountain has many historical relics and cultural remains, mainly humanistic landscapes; the back mountain has waterfalls and deep forests, mainly natural landscapes. So just for the scenery and photo shooting, I recommend going to the back mountain.
🔸Q: How long does it take to climb Qingcheng Mountain? Can I go to Dujiangyan on the same day?
🔹A: Absolutely possible, but you need to measure your strength. My experience is that it takes about 5 hours for the front mountain and about 7 hours for the back mountain, including hiking, short rest, and photo shooting. It's feasible to go to Dujiangyan after visiting the front mountain, or to go to Dujiangyan after walking half of the back mountain. Although there is enough time, you are usually tired after climbing Qingcheng Mountain, so you need to measure your strength.
【Transportation】
🚘Self-driving: Navigate to Qingcheng Mountain, which is located at Qingcheng Mountain Station (intercity train station), with a parking lot nearby.
🚄Train: You can take Metro Line 2/6 to Xipu Station in Chengdu city area, and then transfer to the intercity train to Qingcheng Mountain Station (buy the train ticket in advance, 10 yuan per person, about 30 minutes).
【To the scenic area】
➡️After arriving at Qingcheng Mountain Intercity Train Station, cross the road opposite, buy the electric car to the main entrance of the scenic area under the ancient style archway, 20 yuan for one way, 35 yuan for round trip, about 10 minutes. It's 2 kilometers to walk there, not close. After getting off the electric car, walk another 200 meters to the ticket office.
【Scenic area ticket】
🎟️80 yuan per person, half price for students, no need to buy the 5 yuan map brochure.
【Tour strategy】
After entering the gate, walk up for a while, at the red mark in Figure 18, there will be two roads, the left road to 'Natural Painting' (hiking up the mountain), the right road to 'Moon City Lake' (taking the cable car up the mountain).
☑️Physical exertion: Walk up the left road, walk down the right road, 4-5 hours
✅My suggestion: Walk up the left road, take the cable car down the right road, 4 hours
☑️Knee injury: Take the cable car up the right road, walk down the left road, 3.5-4 hours
I personally took the third route, and my knee was directly scrapped😭, and it hurt for several days.
