🌈Qianfoya is one of the four major grottoes in China. It was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty, more than 1,500 years ago. Located on the ancient Jinniu Road in Shu, the grottoes were first carved in the late Northern Wei Dynasty, flourished in the Tang Dynasty, and ended in the Qing Dynasty. I passed by Guangyuan because I wanted to go to Langzhong, but there were no direct tickets, so I transferred in Guangyuan and played for half a day. I didn't expect a surprise. The chicken skin fried on the iron plate was snatched by my companion who never eats chicken skin. After lunch, I started to digest and take a walk. I chose Qianfoya over Huangze Temple, looked at the carving art, enjoyed the river view, and went to Phoenix Mountain Park, walked to Wangjiang Road, found a fresh fish hot pot (delicious), and walked along the river to the train station to stay in Langzhong. When traveling with children, you always travel slowly. It takes 2 hours to take the high-speed rail from Xi'an to Guangyuan, arriving at 11 o'clock. On the cliffs on the east bank of the Jialing River in the northeast of Guangyuan City, there are densely covered caves of various sizes, stretching nearly 400 meters long and 45 meters high. Although they have suffered great damage, there are still 54 caves, 819 niches, and more than 7,000 statues. This is the largest group of grottoes in Sichuan Province - Thousand Buddha Cliffs, the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units. The Thousand Buddha Cliff was first excavated during the Northern Wei Dynasty and has been continuously excavated in successive dynasties, with most of the excavations dating back to the Tang, Song and Yuan dynasties. It is a concentrated embodiment of historical culture, religious beliefs, sculpture art and tenacious spirit. In front of the cliff is the Jinniu Road built in the Pre-Qin Period. In 1935, Chiang Kai-shek ordered the construction of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Highway, which passed through Thousand Buddha Cliff and blew up most of the caves. After the founding of New China, National Highway G108 still passed in front of the cliff until 2009, when it was changed to a tunnel behind the mountain. Over the past thousand years, Thousand Buddha Cliff has recorded historical stories, gazed at the waves of the Jialing River, and witnessed the changes of mountains, rivers, and vegetation. We arrived at the Thousand Buddha Cliff in Guangyuan in the evening. Luckily, we still had more than an hour to visit, and there were few tourists. The Thousand Buddha Cliff Stone Carvings in Guangyuan are located on the east bank of the Jialing River, 4 km north of the old city of Lizhou District, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province. The carvings were first created during the Northern Wei Dynasty, and were continuously carved during the Western Wei, Northern Zhou, Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties. The carvings have the longest history in Sichuan and are the largest group of stone carvings in Sichuan Province. They are known as the "Exhibition Hall of Stone Carving Art of All Dynasties." The Qianfoya Cliffs are located on the banks of the Jialing River on the edge of Guangyuan City. The ancient and modern cattle trails pass by.
