Qian Dun Temple
Qian Dun Temple is located at No. 1008, Changjiang North Road, Shuangba Village, Chunjiang Town, Xinbei District, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It is also known as Shuangba Nianfo Hall. It was built in the Sui Dynasty (581-618) and has a history of more than 1,400 years. It is the first ancient temple in Baizhang Town, Changzhou. With the changes of history, it has suffered frequent wars and destruction. It was rebuilt in the sixth year of Jiajing (1801 AD). There are 12 rooms, 23 acres of temple fields, and 3 monks. The temple was almost reduced to ashes during the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement, and was later rebuilt by fundraising from the people. In 1954, it was rebuilt as Shuangba Primary School. There is a broken stone tablet for the reconstruction of the temple, and the green skin steps and column foot stones of the original house are all relics of the late Qing Dynasty. In 2013, the Liedi Hall and other buildings in Qian Dun Temple during the Qing Dynasty were announced as municipal historical buildings by the Changzhou Municipal People's Government. The current temple covers an area of 13,200 square meters and a building area of 5,960 square meters. It is still under renovation.
