2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣Slow Tour of Kaohsiung, Taiwan for 4 days and 3 nights DAY3️⃣ One-day tour in Cijin About 6 minutes’ walk from Hamashing Station, we arrived at Gushan Ferry Station and took the ferry to Cijin Ferry Station. The journey only took 5 to 10 minutes and the ticket price was NT$30. After arriving, we rented a four-person electric bicycle for sightseeing. ➡️Attractions: Windmill Park Our first stop was to the farthest "Windmill Park". We lost the bicycle path after walking down the road and had to walk out onto the road. Alighted at Hamasen Station, took a bus to Sizihwan. 2️⃣ Sizihwan Lookout 西子灣觀景臺 📍804, Kaohsiung City, Gushan District --- View of the sea. Historical walk. 3️⃣ Xiongzhen North Gate 哨船頭礮臺（雄鎮北門） 📍No. 6號, Lianhai Rd, Gushan District, Kaohsiung City, 804 --- An old fortress. I did a lot of translation using Google translate just to understand its history. Pretty amazing if you're a history baby. 4️⃣ The British Consulate at Takow 打狗英國領事館文化園區(山下辦公室) 📍 No. 7號, Shaochuan St, Gushan District, Kaohsiung City, 804 --- a little hike up the hill to reach the main building. You must plan your Cijing trip better than I did! 6️⃣ Cijin Old Street 旗津老街 📍 No. 40號, Miaoqian Rd, Qijin District, Kaohsiung City, 805 Highlights - Food and trinkets everywhere! Just walk straight past these stalls (grabbed food and drink along the way) and you can reach the beach side. My brain was too foggy, so I went back to Gushan Ferry Pier, took the 248 bus, and walked for a bit to my hotel. Checked in at CHAO SHE HOTEL (booked via Trip.com) (If you can do more, actually, from Gushan Ferry Pier, you can visit the Penglai Area of The Pier-2 Art Center 駁二蓬萊倉庫群 and The Pier2 Art Center 駁二藝術特區) but I was so tired I took a nap first. 😊 Woke up fresh and energised. 🌃 Liouhe Tourist Night Market六合觀光夜市 --- food trip 🌃 Formosa Boulevard Station 美麗島站 --- to see the Dome of Lights 🌃 Central Park 高雄中央公園 --- to see their light display 👣 then walked back to the hotel again 👣 lots of walking in one day TOTAL STEPS: 31, 904 I love how the KHH railway system is so easy to navigate! Decided to take a leisurely trip to Cijin on a relaxing afternoon. First, I took the ferry. It was quite crowded today. Upon arriving at Cijin, I headed to the beach for a walk. The rocky shore and abandoned bunkers made for some pretty cool photos. The sunset at Qihou Fort & Lighthouse was absolutely stunning ☺️ After capturing the sunset, I wandered through the alleys of Cijin and discovered the Double Happiness chairs, which were also great for photos. A simple little trip that allowed me to step outside. The gloom gradually faded away… What a wonderful journey to Cijin ⛴️……

To get to Cijin, you must first pass through Taiwan's only cross-harbor undersea tunnel. There is an entire coastal road to enjoy the scenery, stroll around the old street and try the traditional grilled squid and tomato cutlets. The fresh seafood restaurant will let you feast on them. After your meal, you can go to the other end of the pier to watch the ferry, or go to the beach next to the entrance of the old street to step in the water and pile up some sand. The public toilet next to it also has a footbath area, which is so convenient! It's a great place to relax and have fun!

There are a lot of snacks on the streets of Cijin. As soon as you get off the ferry, you will see a whole row of delicious snacks. I recommend a few snacks that I know how to buy for your reference. The first fried food store on the street at Pier 1, the fried dragon balls are super delicious. 2. The sweet potato shop opposite the temple is a time-honored restaurant. It only opens in the afternoon and there is a queue every day. It's a green stall. 3. Grilled squid. The must-buy grilled squid depends on your mood. In fact, the taste is almost the same. I usually buy the one next to the temple, or the one closest to the beach without turning the corner. 4 Red meat soup, strong pepper aroma, traditional taste 5 white sugar cakes (you can buy them near the beach) Local shops in 6 alleys, noodle shops, snack shops, and morning markets. The rest depends on your mood, buy only when you want to eat, and personal taste. I don’t think there are any real surprises on this street so far, except for drinks (I personally recommend buying drinks with a brand name). The quality of the unknown drink shops here is amazing, and sometimes they taste good. Sometimes it tastes bad, so I always buy it from 7-11. Many people are afraid of being treated like a penny when they come to the tourist street, but in fact, there are many conscientious businesses in Cijin. If you don’t want to be like a penny, you can refer to my buying method. 1. If there is no price, don’t buy it. Normal and conscientious merchants will clearly mark the price. If there is no price tag, I usually don’t buy it, but what if I really want to eat it? Ask first before buying, and be clear about your amount. For example, after asking about the price of soju snails, I directly said whether I wanted to buy it for 50 yuan or 100 yuan, and clearly told me the amount I was willing to pay, without leaving room for price increases. 2. Learn to say no. If you feel you have been cheated, you can say no directly.
