Don’t miss the colourful island of Procida 🇮🇹
Take a break from the chaos of Naples and head to the charming, picturesque island of Procida by ferry ⛴️
How to get there: You can take the ferry from Calais di Massa (1hr), the hydrofoil from Molo Beverello (45 mins), or from Pozzuoli (35 mins).
🗓️Itinerary Scheduling: walk around the narrow cobbled streets and look at the pink and yellow-hued buildings, visit the calm beaches 🌊, eat eat eat and eat 🍕, watch the sunset🌅, and take beautiful photos 📸
If you don’t stay on the island, it’s perfect to spend around half a day, and combine with Ischia or head back to Naples.

A Queit and Rustic getaway
After almost a week in Naples and poor sleep. I was ready to move to a quieter place. About 10 minutes of walking got me to the central station. Shortly afterwards i boarded on to a bus that my hostel manager helped me figure out. It was a quick ride to the port. The plan was to catch a ferry to Proscida.
In terms of first impressions it looked less touristy. There was something authentic about it. The place seemed rustic and quiet. So I figured this would be a good place to lay low and immerse in the Italian way of life. A more authentic and satisfying experience compared to the popular destinations I had done in the past 6 weeks. This was a welcomed change.
I booked a decent guesthouse for about 30 euros and the plan was to laze around for the next 4 nights and recover. This isn't the place where you will wake up with a list of sites you are to explore and then have a bite and get on with your hat. In fact, this is more for the relaxed way of spending time, starting your day with a beautiful coffee and breakfast and then at your own pace head out. I loved my stroll around those quaint alleys.
It's such a comfort to be in non touristy places and get a glimpse of local living. Having said so, you needn't necessarily do anything. Eat your pizza's, shop around, get on a boat to the nearby islands or just explore the joy of a boat ride and the coast line. I recommend visiting the island of Ischia. It's not too far and will fill you plenty with its castles, beaches and stunning views.
