Preah Ko is one of the four temples which make up the Roluos Group, it is 15 kilometers 25 minutes away from Siem Reap town.
It was built by King Indravarman 1 around 879 AD to be the capital city before it was moved to Angkor Thom. The temple was dedicated to Shiva and the Sacred Bull. It was the oldest temple in the Roluos Group. There are six main towers which stand in two rows of three at Preah Ko, all of which have been wonderfully preserved and there are many cravings and inscriptions to see. Preserving work still continues when i was there.

Visiting the Preah Ko Temple in Prasat Bakong was a wonderful and spiritual experience. This ancient royal temple in Cambodia is a solemn and calming place. When I arrived, I was deeply impressed by the monumental stone structures and inscriptions that highlight the details of ancient Cambodian art. I wandered among the arcades and columns and enjoyed the tranquility of the place. I felt inspired and meditative in front of the religious statues and ornate temples. Visiting the Preah Ko Temple was an opportunity to discover Cambodia’s ancient culture and heritage and connect with the great past of this civilization.

During my recent journey, I embarked on a captivating expedition to explore the mesmerizing Preah Ko Temple nestled in the enchanting Siem Reap Province. This remarkable destination boasts a breathtaking panorama that left me in awe. As I approached the temple, its ancient allure transported me back in time, immersing me in the rich history and cultural heritage of Cambodia.
Krol Ko Temple, situated in Angkor Archeological Park, Siem Reap, Cambodia, is an ancient Buddhist temple constructed in the Bayon style during the late 12th century. It was built under the reign of King Jayavarman VII (1181–1218 AD). Adjacent to it lies the renowned Neak Pean island temple of the Jaytataka Baray.
The historical site comprises the remnants of an outer wall that leads to a cruciform terrace, a gopura, and another outer wall enclosure towards the east. Encircled by a 3/4 moat and a permanent basin to the northeast, the temple's interior contains the remains of a library building and a central shrine. The entrance gopura is connected to the central shrine through its own laterite cruciform terrace.
Make your travel experience truly remarkable and filled with cherished memories by visiting Cambodia. This destination holds the key to a meaningful journey that you won't forget. Personally, I am already looking forward to revisiting this incredible place in 2024. #historicallandmarks #localguides #familytrip #mytravelhacks #preahkotemple #ancienttemples

In the depths of the jungle of the Preah Khan Temple, there is a beautiful temple, the St. Tong Temple, which the locals call the Simen Temple. It is the most memorable building of the entire Preah Khan Temple, because the center tower is decorated with four mysterious Bayan style faces. These faces show the most mysterious smile among the entire Angkor ruins.
The whole Buddha image has been surrounded by layers of branches and leaves, which is extraordinarily mysterious. Although I have passed the most difficult road, I have also seen the most mysterious smile in Cambodia.
