Preah Vihear Temple is an ancient Khmer Hindu temple located on the border of Cambodia and Thailand. The ownership of the temple is disputed between the two countries. At present, the temple is under the actual jurisdiction of the Preah Vihear province of Cambodia. In 2008, the temple was recognized For the world cultural heritage. The history of Preah Vihear Temple dates back to the 9th century AD. It was built by the monarch of the Khmer Empire. It was built from the mid-10th century to the beginning of the 12th century. It stands on a 550-meter-high cliff overlooking the entire Cambodian plain. Due to its remote location and dangerous terrain, the Preah Vihear Temple is quite well preserved; its architectural style is similar to that of Angkor Wat. The ruins of this ancient temple are distributed on a cliff with a length of 800 meters and a width of 400 meters, with long steps on all sides. Up and down; the temple has four floors, with four courtyards, each floor has gates and walls, reflecting the unique architectural art style of the Angkor Dynasty. The World Heritage Committee pointed out that the Preah Vihear Temple has a good terrain, its architecture fully integrates the natural landscape and religious functions, and the exquisite stone carvings in the temple are the treasures of ancient civilizations.
