Porto's unique sunset point
The perfect place to fall in love with the sky of Porto that is different every day
The last! 4️⃣ point is,
📍Felgueiras Lighthouse(Farolim de Felgueiras)
Porto is also famous for surfing🏄🏻♀️, right?
This is the lighthouse right next to the surfing point!
I wanted to feel the last sunset in Porto in a different place than the one I saw every day,
so I came here☺️
(The sunset seen from the sea is more romantic for no reason♡)
At first, I felt disappointed by the thick clouds
but what the heck!
The sun appeared after passing through the thick clouds
and shined between the clouds
making it even more amazing❣️🌅
Thanks to the perfect sky of Porto until the end,
I was able to have an unforgettable ending

🇵🇹 Exploring Foz do Douro: Where the Douro Meets the Atlantic
#summervacay
Foz do Douro is a charming coastal district in Porto, beautifully situated where the Douro River meets the Atlantic Ocean. We began our journey by boarding tram no. 1 at its starting point, Infante (just beside the Church of Saint Francis), and rode it to the final stop at Passeio Alegre, adjacent to the serene Jardim do Passeio Alegre.
From there, we strolled leisurely along the picturesque coastline, heading toward Avenida Brasil. Along the way, we passed two striking landmarks: the Farol de Felgueiras lighthouse, standing steadfast at the edge of the Atlantic, and the Fortaleza de São João da Foz, a 16th-century fort that once guarded the river's mouth.
The coastline of Foz is a captivating mix of small sandy beaches and ancient granite outcrops. We were mesmerized by the powerful Atlantic waves crashing against these rugged rock formations, which date back over 300 million years, sculpted by relentless wave erosion over millennia.
The experience was a perfect blend of natural beauty, geological wonder, and historical charm—a tranquil yet awe-inspiring walk that lingers in memory.

🇵🇹 Geological Walk 📍Foz do Douro
#summervacay
Foz do Douro is a district in Porto, located at the mouth of the Douro River, where it meets the Atlantic Ocean. The Atlantic coastline in Foz features stunning formations of ancient rocks that are over 570 million years old, interspersed with younger granite rocks about 290 million years old. Together, these formations make up the Foz do Douro Metamorphic Complex, which stretches along small beaches between São Francisco Xavier Fort and Felgueiras Pier. Over time, the sea continues to sculpt these ancient rocks into new forms, such as sand. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the massive Atlantic waves crash against the magnificent rock outcrops.

🇵🇹 Restaurant with Nice Ocean View by Ingleses Beach, Foz
After a long walk along the Atlantic coastline at Foz do Douro, we chanced upon Praia da Luz, a beautiful restaurant by Ingleses Beach overlooking the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. The restaurant offered both indoor and outdoor seating, allowing guests to choose their preferred dining ambiance. Although the food was a bit pricey, the breathtaking view made it worthwhile. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, we enjoyed a stunning view of the ocean while savoring our lunch. This picturesque setting is the perfect place to witness a mesmerizing sunset if you visit during dinner time. The combination of delectable food, impeccable service, and the serene sound of the waves created an unforgettable dining experience.

Recommended travel destination near Porto: “Poz Beach”
#EuropeanTravel
It takes about an hour to walk from downtown Porto and 20-30 minutes to get to “Foz Beach”!
The waves are really strong, but it’s a beach worth visiting at least once.
If you take the tram, take the left side when you go and the right side when you come back to see the Douro River.
If you’re coming back to the city in the evening, take the right side and you’ll be able to see the night view!
Since Porto is so small, I recommend Foz Beach to those who want to travel to the suburbs!

Walk along the Atlantic Coastline 🇵🇹 Foz do Douro
#citywalk
Foz do Douro is a district in Porto located at the mouth of the Douro River facing the Atlantic Ocean. We took tram no. 1 from the first stop at Infante (next to Church of Saint Francis) to the last stop at Passeio Alegre (next to Jardim do Passeio Alegre). From there we walked leisurely along the picturesque coastline until Avenida Brasil.
We passed by Farol de Felgueiras lighthouse and
Fortaleza de São João da Foz, a 16th-century fort, before reaching the beaches. The Atlantic coastline in Foz comprises of small sandy beaches nestled between granite outcrops. We enjoyed watching the huge Atlantic waves break onto the magnificent outcrops. The outcrops are ancient rocks about 300 million years old formed due to erosion of sea waves.
We had lunch at Restaurante Praia da Luz by Ingleses Beach while enjoying the ocean view.

🌟Tranquil Foz do Douro by the Atlantic🌟
A.M./P.M.: 96 Hours in Porto Vol.7
🌟Tranquil Foz do Douro by the Atlantic🌟
Tram No.1 stops at Foz do Douro, walk along the embankment and see the locals fishing quietly.
Slowly walk to the end of the west, and the Felgueiras Lighthouse is right in front of you. Watching the tide of the sea on the shore, the magnificence of the Atlantic Ocean inspires awe in people's hearts.
With every approach to the Atlantic, there seems to be a bit of depression, a bit of melancholy, a bit of mystery, and an insurmountable feeling, perhaps related to the weather, perhaps related to the surging waves of the Atlantic.
The surging tide caused no one to want to approach the tower and the beach, but unexpectedly, a man in swimming trunks suddenly appeared in our camera. He fearlessly rushed towards the Atlantic Ocean. The onlookers were all amazed. It should be noted that the temperature in Porto is now less than 10 degrees on a cloudy day. It's already impressive enough to take off your clothes and wear only a pair of swimming trunks, but he still dared to run towards the sea despite the wind and waves!
As he disappeared into the waves, the onlookers immediately cheered and applauded, reminding me of the scene when we watched the sunset on the rooftop of Saint-Tropez that year. The atmosphere at this moment was not romantic but inspiring, and the picture was equally moving. This is the surprise that travel gives us~
